Thought folks here would aplreciate this. I am so, so excited. Charles Soule is a fantastic writer with a real legal background, and Garney is a great choice of artist. And their plans sound amazing. Matt's going back to having a secret identity! Woot!
Although, sadly no mention of the fate of Foggy Nelson or Kirsten McDuffie. *begs for their lives and cries tears of sadness forever if they're gone*

uhm, I know it's nothing but I started working on a prompt and though being it simple -and I know I can't write long fics + my native language is not english and I'm sure it'd be big trouble when looking for the right words, I feel so happy either way about it that I just wanted to share this fact, as it'd be also my second ever fic and the first one that I'll ever publish online, so yey XD thanks meme, thanks anons and thanks dd XD
Guys, I draw and I saw the new DD art online and... can some other artists please confirm or deny that the new DD is actually built on Charlie Cox's proportions and not the traditional (at least 6' tall and ~20 lbs heavier) Matt Murdock in comics? Or am I seeing things? The nu!DD chest lats are slightly too exaggerated to be Charlie's (no amount of muscle is ever going to make Charlie a big guy), but the lumbar curve and especially the hips and thighs and booty? Picture the man in black and you'll see what I mean. Y/N, or have I missed a shorter DD in comics who is built like this?

OP: sorry, and I meant to point out that even though these look like concept art, unless the photo is flipped, THIS Matt Murdock is no longer a southpaw. There seems to be some sort of pack on his left thigh, but the holster for his billy clubs is on the right side. (Charlie Cox is right-handed.) I'm not sure what to make of it unless the comic decided to pay eye service to the show.

My interpretation is that he's used to using his blindness and people's sympathies for it as a way of getting them to open up, so it was manipulative, but at the same time I don't think he was lying about wanting to be able to see again, if only for a moment.

A lot of people write fic in which characters who would know better use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol to clean wounds. Both of these substances damage cells and shouldn't be used. Flush open wounds with clean water (preferably sterile or distilled, which you can often buy at grocery stores by the gallon - but tap will do if it's what you have) or saline solution. With non-penetrating wounds use wound scrub or mild soap.
If anyone has any questions about emergency medical care, I've worked for 20 years in veterinary medicine, mostly in specialty practice emergency and critical care, which is very similar to its human counterpart. :( What fic is it? I don't get a lot of comments on mine, but I do get some. I try and keep in mind that everyone's in different timezones, so it's likely they haven't seen it yet. I do wish I'd get some detailed comments though, but I try not to think like that because then I tend to give up and not touch the fic again for a few years.

Is he lying? I have the feeling he's self-deluded. Every time he lays hands on someone to hurt them he gets a creeper grin on his face, a predator smile. When he strangles Ben, he's got such a cat with cream face, ugh. And when Matt is half-dead and stupidly challenges him, Fisk looks thrilled, he's bouncing on his toes for a second. And when he strangles Matt up against the wall and throws him down (good thing he didn't just keep him up there because that was the same double-fisted throat grab he used on Ben) he looks like he just had sex and needs a cigarette and is disappointed Matt couldn't get back up. I really do get the sense that Fisk honestly loves to hurt or dominate people, at least everyone who isn't Vanessa. Am I seeing that wrong?

On IMDB Charlie is listed as 5'10", same as Deborah, and Elden is listed as 5'9" and during season one I thought Matt and Foggy were the same height, while Karen was a little shorter? Because she wears heels and she's still the same height as Matt and Foggy?
But I'm looking at the new season 2 set pics and Charlie is looking shorter than Elden in almost every picture. I thought maybe the shoes, and it's not a super big deal but as a writer I want to get the sight lines or sizes right and idek anymore! The new pics make it look like Elden is bigger and Charlie's gotten smaller somehow? What the heck is going on with the pictures? Anybody? And is Deborah really 5'10" if she can wear heels and still be the same height as the guys?

I'd recommend using Google Maps. That can calculate distances and travel times for you as well.

has anyone else been reading the unbeatable squirrel girl series? tbf I've only read like the first 4 and now I'm just waiting for it to come out on unlimited, but I LOVE it and she's so cute and I can't help thinking about what her interactions with the daredevil characters would be like and ugh *chin hands*

I had kind of hoped fandom was past hating on female characters by now, and at first glance it seems like our little fandom is doing pretty good (look at all the love for Claire and Marci and Vanessa), and yeah Karen gets some love too but she's also the target of a lot of some really intense scrutiny. Like, ~everything she does is bad and wrong and she's the literal worst~ type scrutiny. And I just... don't... get it?

Do you think it's okay to just assume people know what happens in canon? Like talking about foggy being mad with Matt without explicitly saying that he recently found out matt is daredevil? Or mentioning that Fisk is in prison without saying who fisk is/going into any detail?
If you're talking about show canon, I think so. I don't know about others, but I usually don't read fanfiction until I've caught up with whatever happens. If I don't get caught up, it means I don't really care about the show itself that much but still want to read the fanfiction.
