I don't know about anyone else, but occasionally I'm like, "hey, there was a prompt for ____, I'm thinking of filling it but I can't find it!" Flipping through page after page of prompts is really hard. So my question is, is there either a way to search the prompts, or is there like, a spreadsheet of unfilled prompts somewhere?
Someone tell me NOT to do this, because I am so close. I have comics I haven't read yet and I do not need to buy more and if I do buy one I will buy THEM ALL, SOMEONE STOP ME.
It is an apartment, I think, but it's REALLY BIG and really mostly empty, so it's weird, and also he never seems to actually go upstairs??? I think there's a door up there, it's how Foggy gets in during episode nine.
But Matt, unhelpful as he is, keeps climbing in and out of the goddamn window.
Also that apartment's huge but it's not particularly nice and it's also not in a particularly nice building. I don't know if this is because of lack of decoration or what, but it's not possible that it cost A LOT (and Matt does say he got "a corner apartment at a hell of a discount" due to the inexplicable tv ad screen thing which is placed in literally the worst place it could be) because Matt just doesn't have that much money.
Probably the most confusing part of the show is that apartment, tbh.
Is daredevil anyone else's first foray into mcu fandom? Like, I like marvel films in general and avengers is great but I've never been fandom-level-interested in this kind of thing....
Hi, I'm really sorry about this; feel free to delete if I'm posting this query in the wrong place. But I can't find it in the delicious account, either.
There was a prompt that I've lost the thread to. The prompt pretty much wrote a story itself. I'm fairly sure it was A/B/O, Matt was an omega. His father used his winnings to buy suppressants and beta scents. There was a whole thing about traditional occupations associated with alphas and omegas.
There was something about Matt being close with Peter Parker, and then getting a scholarship and Aunt May and Uncle Ben take him in so that he can go to school without having to find a place of his own.
But then he moves on to law school and meets Foggy. It may also have been Foggy/Matt, but I can't remember.
Does this sound familiar? Where is it?
Thanks so much!
Re: I don't know if this is the place for this, but lost a prompt, do you know it?
The only prompt remotely similar that I can find is this one, but it's Matt/Fisk and the only similarity is Matt hiding his omega status: http://daredevilkink.dreamwidth.org/725.html?thread=535509#cmt535509
This one is Matt/Foggy and set in law school, but it's Alpha!Matt and Omega!Foggy: http://daredevilkink.dreamwidth.org/725.html?thread=233429#cmt233429
(this might be a silly question, but are you sure it was on this kink meme and not avengerkink?)
Would it be ok if I joined the AO3 queue to create a sort of group account for anons here to use? For anyone who would like their fill to get some more exposure, but who maybe doesn't want it associated with their other works?
I guess I am wondering if anyone else would be interested in this and if ddk_mod would find this acceptable or not
What is the deal with Elektra? What is Matt's relationship with her? She's one of his love interests but her being on the opposite side of justice puts a big crimp in that. How do they feel about each other? Is it a professional relationship or do they have feelings that get in the way?
I think that's the term for when someone writes a "fill" for a "prompt" that was actually someone accidentally commenting on the meme itself when they meant to comment, like, on another fill? Like I saw someone posted "GAH!!!" and a few people wrote stories based on it. Just some fun!
There's no real way to run this except on the honor system trusting that no one will go in and deliberately screw around with things. Have fun everyone!
So I just stumbled across this article (http://nerdreactor.com/2015/05/27/daredevil-season-2-audition-tapes-elektra/) about Elektra audition tapes being leaked online with a transcript below it. Anyone know if this is legit? Has anyone seen it?
1. Okay so people keep on talking about Foggy crushing on Karen and Karen crushing on Matt. I know that happens in the comics but honestly I got NONE of that in the show. I'm wondering if the show was actually trying to imply this and i completely missed it (not the first time it's happened) or if it wasnt the show's intention and this is fan interpretation.
2. what age do you think Fisk, Vanessa and Weasly are? I've pretty much pinned Matt and Foggy down to late 20s early 30's (with foggy being a little older) and Karen being a little younger than them. but I have no clue about the good old bad guys. We did get the timeline context from Fisk's childhood backflash but... yeah idk someone please help me out here.
I'm really confused about the Matt/Karen/Foggy dynamics in canon as well...like I thought Karen/Foggy was building up to be a ~thing, but then Karen does act kind of shy around Matt which makes me think she might like him?? Like she keeps giving him these looks and?? And sometimes it seemed like she liked Foggy and sometimes it didn't. And Foggy definitely seemed to like her but then also Marci, and the way they ended it in the last series made it seem like none of them were interested in each other....
??????? I have no idea what happens in the comics though
Perhaps they're leaving a lot of things open so they have the option to explore different routes in later series or smth...
Can I just say that I love that this kink meme is so prone to discussions/comment parties? I've never been on a kink meme that so enthusiastically discusses prompts.
Does anyone have any opinions on what MB personality types the characters are?
Myers-Briggs is a personality typing system, where everyone is one of 16 personality types. You choose one of 2 options in 4 different traits (2^4 = 16).
More info here: http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/ (note that the test on this site is the official one and requires payment; however, there are a lot of free ones floating around that are arguably less accurate)
Because I apparently have too much free time on my hands I just took a free version of the test as if I was foggy (at least, how I characterise foggy) and got ESFP :)
Aaaah! I can't get my fix of new fic because when I go to the AO3 site and search for daredevil TV I get the same things that were there yesterday. I know there are newer fics because I have read a couple (on archive of our own) via links on the fill post.
Is this happening to anyone else, or is the universe just deciding I need to get back to my real life?
can anyone ever like... identify members of the kinkmeme? Like of course it's all anon but do you ever get a vibe from someone's writing style or see certain themes repeated and ur like 'oh yeah it's that guy'
I can never be sure but sometimes i get a vibe off a fill or a comment and im like 'oh yeah it's that guy'. It doesn't happen very often but I was wondering if other members of the kink meme experienced the same thing.
Can we make a post for In Progress fills? I dunno about you all, but I keep loosing track of fill updates and having them in one place would be great. I'm thinking something like:
Fill: Matt/Daredevil, Parking Tickets Part 1 [fill link]
Update: Matt/Daredevil, Parking Tickets Part 2 [previous part] [part 2]
Except the update would be a response to the first post and then you keep posting the updates until the fill is complete, in which case you can stick it in the fills post or something, like so.
this is so cliched but all that springs to mind when i think of dog!foggy (doggy?) is golden retriever. just a happy coincidence that golden retrievers (according to google at least) make up 15% of guide dogs. and (again according to google) their temperament is: reliable, friendly, kind, confident, trustworthy, intelligent. i think that all fits for foggy.
Okay so there are like 4/5 rooms in this place how am i getting so confused about how it's set up????
There's a reception area (main room), 2 offices and a conference room. I'm pretty sure there's a little kitchenette too??? Matt's office is to the right of Karen's desk (facing the entrance) I think??? and the other rooms just don't even ask me.
can anyone help me figure this out???? (there are too many close ups and weird angles during the scenes in that space i swear to god)
Does anybody have any opinion on how Matt's powers work in the comics vs how they work in the show? In both he has vastly improves sense of hearing, taste, smell, and touch, but his radar sense that features in the comics isn;t mentioned in the series. In the comics he can also do a bunch of other things like read printed text by touch and tell colors by touch and stuff that he doesn't appear to be able to do in the show.
What does everyone think about this? When you write, do you incorporate additional skills from the comics that haven't been mentioned in the TV show but that he may still have, or do you miss them out and stick to established show canon?
in terms of the radar sense and the 'world on fire' I see them as basically being the same thing it's just that the Matt's have two completely different ways of describing it. (partially because netflix matt is being a flirty little shit with claire but lmao)
Like in waid's run he calls it a tactile sense in that he can 'feel out' everything around him and in terms of visual representations the show and the comics seem to be similar. In that they both involve impressions of the objects and space around them. (I just think the 'world on fire' is different because the show tried to combine all the senses together in a cohesive way, to create an expression of how matt experiences the world around him) (the comics tend to explain or examine matt's senses as separate entities from what i've seen)
I kind of interpret the whole radar sense thing as human echolocation without making the clicking sounds. Like I was watching some videos from the World Access for the Blind organisation and Daniel Kich and some people said that the brain rewires itself and they train with the echolocation enough that the audio feedback they get helps create a mental image of the space. Which again, reminds me of visual representations of matt's sensory experiences.
In regards to the 'reading text by touch' and other such skills I kind of like the idea that if he concentrates really hard or under the right circumstances, sure he can do stuff like that. But it's not the most effective way of getting things done and it's kind of a pain in his ass all things told. he doesn't try and do it all too often.
I'm just surprised, I've in various fandoms for a long time (I'm old) and this has the unlikely combination of being extremely nice and then asking for prompts of suicide and killing small animals. And it's not just an angst fest, some prompts are both disturbing and fascinating.
Is it to do with the series as a whole being a bit more violent than the rest of the MCU? Or the depressing canon (pre volume 3)
i don't really have any fandom-level experience with the mcu (aside from daredevil) so i can't comment much on that but i figure, like you said, that since the canon is more depressing and dark there's more believability and more of a foothold for the sadistic stuff.
