Can anyone help me with the layout of matt's apartment?? Like is it even an apartment (I swear it has stairs??)

I always imagined his bedroom coming off of the living room but that's not right is it? *frowns*

It is an apartment, I think, but it's REALLY BIG and really mostly empty, so it's weird, and also he never seems to actually go upstairs??? I think there's a door up there, it's how Foggy gets in during episode nine.

But Matt, unhelpful as he is, keeps climbing in and out of the goddamn window.

Also that apartment's huge but it's not particularly nice and it's also not in a particularly nice building. I don't know if this is because of lack of decoration or what, but it's not possible that it cost A LOT (and Matt does say he got "a corner apartment at a hell of a discount" due to the inexplicable tv ad screen thing which is placed in literally the worst place it could be) because Matt just doesn't have that much money.

Probably the most confusing part of the show is that apartment, tbh.

Ah thank you, that's actually super helpful. At some point I need one of the characters to do a convenient walk around so I can get a good look :') I actually do really like it though haha like even though there's nothing there and it's p ugly - idk smth about it appeals to me

I think, given it's converted from part of an old warehouse, that his front door is actually up high, then the stairs come down around into the living room/kitchen area (super high ceilings), and the bedroom is off that.

Wow, thanks for this. It looks close, but I don't think it's entirely accurate. The bed is in the wrong place, and the hallway is different too. Wish I had time to fix it, because I think I have a pretty good idea about the layout of Matt's apartment by now. Off on vacation tomorrow morning, but maybe after I get back.

As for the questions about the "upstairs" part, I figure there is no actual upstairs, as in rooms he can use. There's a sign somewhere that says "roof access", so in my mind it leads to the roof, which is the only thing that's actually still above his place. Maybe some storage space or something, who knows? But no actual living space, I should think. It also explains how he gets in and out of his apartment undetected when he's dressed as Daredevil. (Pretty clever, if you ask me.)

Also, I'm fairly sure that it was previously firehouse, if only for the ladder on one of the walls and the old fire hose that is mounted to another wall close to it. You can see it in episode 10 when Foggy looks at Matt's chest that houses the Daredevil clothes.

The previous anon did a great job at trying to do a sketch of Matt's apartment, but I've meticulously watched a number of scenes where you can see different parts of the apartment and tried to do something that I hope is more accurate. It's hard to tell the spatial dimensions. I'm sure it's not entirely right, but I've given my best.

Kitchen and bar to the right, living room in the middle, bedroom and washroom on the left. There is a staircase that leads to the roof. There is a hallway/foyer area separated by a wall parallel to the kitchen that leads out into the hallway.

^This. The front door enters a hallway. Karen always goes in the front door. When Foggy finds DD after Nobu, he comes in the roof access.

OH MAN I made a floorplan and everything of this, lemme see if I can find it. (Seriously, I made one just based on the trailers, and then I had to edit it when the series came out, and I'm not sure where it's at. Give me a bit to look for it.)

I think this was the most updated one I made? TBH, I don't know if that one room exists or not. The bathroom doesn't have furniture, and ignore the green thing in the middle of the living room. (This program allows you to take photos as if you were standing in the room, and that's the camera.)
Of course it's not perfect, but it's pretty close.
