Marci Takes Matt's Place as Foggy's Best Friend

So Matt and Foggy still talk and try to be friends, if not business partners, but things are strained.

And now Foggy is working as a partner at HCB(&N), which means that technically he is Marci's superior. He requests her on the team for all of his cases, and they work closely together.

She also gets off on working with him as her boss, and they continue to have a FWB booty call situation separate from their working life, and eventually Foggy slowly realizes that Marci is his best friend.

Can be a fic about Matt realizing this and pointing it out to Foggy, can be a fic about them having broken up because Foggy was afraid of commitment (according to Marci in S1) and him finally just realizing how important she is to him and popping the question and how that goes... just give me a fic about Marci and Foggy slowly realizing how important they are to one another now that they're working together and Foggy's not so focused on Matt.

So, Foggy doesn't seem that heartbroken about his barista/dance partner(?) not wanting more than a one night stand when he describes it to Matt the next day.

And he and Marci clearly have a friends with benefits thing going on that he seems 100% okay with. All of his talk about women on the show is about casual flings, not a real relationship. And he likes Karen but doesn't make an actual move on her.

So what's the deal with Foggy and only wanting one night stands or not really seeming to want to get married or have kids or a committed relationship? Did he have his heart absolutely crushed once? Meet the love of his life early on and since she got away he thinks there's no point in trying?

I need to know what the deal is and what kind of woman it would take to make him fully commit and fall head over heels, since he otherwise doesn't seem the type.

I understand why Karen and Foggy are pissed with Matt. I get why the firm went under. It's understandable that Matt's reputation as a lawyer is in ruins. And Fisk regaining power is just logical.

But can we give the poor guy a break?

Elektra is dead. All his bridges are burned. He's probably in danger of being homeless now. Just, please, give the man something. He saved the city (again); let him have some amount of happiness to show for it.

+ There is no 'It's your own faults' thrown at him; he already knows this thanks.
+ Melvin being a bro to Matt/making Matt feel like he has been doing something good or the right think.
+ Claire tries to help.

When Matt tells Claire that the hospital is in danger, Claire decides to call in a favor from that *other* superhero she knows. Jessica shows up with Luke and Trish in tow.

The Hand are in for a big surprise.

Bonus points for: snarkiness directed at Daredevil's costume, Luke's shirt getting destroyed when the katanas break on his skin, Jess using heavy equipment as weapons, and a general reaction of "Ninjas? Seriously?!"

Matt has no idea until he receives a call from a hospital. He was too far away to even know about it.

Matt, loss of bladder control when chained up

One of the symptoms of a bad concussion is loss of bladder control- when Matt is tied up by Frank on the roof it happens. How does Frank react? How does Matt?

I'm trash so this can go hurt/comfort (as much as frank would be in that situation???) or the humiliation kink Matt/Frank route, I'm easy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Somehow Frank gets it in his mind that Matt is someone he's supposed to protect- and he starts to see Matt as one of his children, to the point of capturing him and taking him home. All of this gets worse for Matt when Frank finds out how Matt was raised and the inhuries he has.

They've been seeing each other in secret for a while now, and have been having fantastic sex where they're both really honest with each other about what they like. Karen's always had a curiosity for pegging, but was always afraid she'd freak out the guy she asked to do it with her. With Frank, she knows he won't judge her and will tell her if he's not into it.

Fortunately for both of them, he ends up being very into it.

Bonus points for Karen really getting off on the trust Frank places on her.

I really loved Karen digging into her journalistic instincts this season, and would love to read an AU where the Devil of Hell's Kitchen is a legend that has never been seen. Think Man of Steel and Lois tracking him down. Ben Urich can be her Perry White.

Give me Karen putting the pieces together and discovering that not only is the Devil real, but he's also a soft-spoken and mild-mannered blind attorney named Matthew.

Maybe her search begins after he saves her one night. I'd prefer if they stayed platonic. It's fine if you pair Matt with Claire, Elektra or Frank as a side plot, but that's not necessary at all. I just really love identity reveal fics.

Elektra brings Matt to her favorite tailor in NYC when they are dating because she wants to see him in perfectly tailored everything – cashmere sweaters to perfectly pressed dress shirts – and the tailor just fawns over Matt's perfectly proportioned body. Cue flustered Matt, a professional but lusting-just-a-little tailor, and an entertained Elektra.

Perhaps, she takes him to a specialty shop after where you can get other custom-fitted items as a reward. ;) (Clearly, I want there to be a little edge of D/s to this, don't I? Matt just being a good by for Elektra and humoring her every wish.)

Hannibal's never met anyone with a more refined sense of smell than him and he's intrigued by the puppy dog-eyed soft-spoken lawyer from Hell's Kitchen. (Or, maybe, he's just really missing Will, but he'll take what he can get.)

- Matt meeting Hannibal when he saves his life (but not as DD)

- Hannibal realizes Matt's incredible sensitivity, but still manages to drug him with something to make him a little more pliant...it's up to you how dark that gets, but I like the psychological element of Hannibal being in control and Matt being vulnerable

Support for Daredevil

Please can we find someone who can support Matt in being Daredevil and help him make better decisions. They agree Matt being Daredevil is a good thing but they want to help him be smarter about it.(Really I hoped Foggy would do this, but he was stuck on stopping Matt be Daredevil).

Maybe Brett could take him aside and give him some advice as a fellow bad guy stopper who understands that day's off and injury recovery time are still essential (and visiting kingpins in prison is never a good idea)

bc clearly matt isn't going to stop being daredevil, but at this point he's not doing it right, like, sorry bro, it's not working great, and he needs someone to help him out. i mean, i love foggy, but matt's not going to stop, and it ruined the relationship. but the very obvious parallels the show was making between matt's vigilantism and addiction were legitimate. matt needs to find a middle road where he and daredevil can be the same person despite the secret identity, so the double life won't destroy him. his being daredevil basically made it impossible for him to live as matt murdock, and what he really needs is to be able to be both.

and claire! claire can also help with this. the thing is that at this point the people matt befriends as daredevil--the ones who don't meet him as matt murdock, lawyer--are the ones who'll be able to deal with him and help him right now. i mean, i think matt and foggy have a real chance of someday reconciling, but first matt needs to learn how to balance the two parts of his life.

He falls in with the type of soulless asshole lawyers he and Matt fought so hard to avoid. And why not? He's earned it, and he's still Foggy, but like Foggy with a nice suit and no student loan debt.

But one night (like probably a really cold snowy night or something because of course it would be) while out on the town, he and the douche crew come a cross a cold and homeless Matt because angst.

Matt is in serious denial until it finally dawns on him that he's in love.
Only that now it's too late ... or is it?

I like the idea of frank like fighting the rest off thinking matt has it and then when he's done he turns around to see him holding his chest and collapsing and his lips going blue.

foggy and brett's changing friendship now that both of them are in new places in their lives and how they end up being boyfriends to the surprise of no one but themselves lmao

things i'd love!
- brett finding out about and helping foggy deal with the nelson/murdock break up (the reason foggy wanted to strengthen their friendship maybe?)
- platonic (coffee/dinner) dates that turn into actual dates and whether or not they realize it
- brett's life outside of his job!
- brett being daredevil's jim gordon and foggy having to deal with the fact that his boyfriend sees matt more than he does. maybe this initially causes issues that they have to deal with
- BESS MAHONEY
- anything with karen, marci, claire (and jerri hogarth, jessica and luke)

Blinded by grief, Alpha!Frank doesn't scent Omega!Matt until after the epic hallway-stairwell fight in 2x03. He's still set on his mission to exterminate those who took away his family, but now he's distracted by the alluring scent of this omega. He said he didn't care about Red's identity...damned if he doesn't regret it now.

As time passes, Matt's scent becomes increasingly distressed (because, shit, the second season was distressing).

And when Matt comes in to the courtroom to cross-examine him, Frank freaks out for entirely different reasons.

Make it work from there.

Instead of becoming a lawyer, Matt becomes the owner of Fogwell's Gym. Frank's looking for a hole-in-the-wall gym where he can let off some steam without killing anyone...and what do you know, this one doesn't even mind if you bring your dog with you and the owner can't I.D. him. Perfect.

Bonus points for emotionally damaged men and a deliciously slow burn.
