College-era Matt is either a sub, or a switch who is always perceived as a sub (because a lot of people don't believe switches exist) and he gets hit on a lot by asshole doms. Social pressure and his own issues make it pretty hard for him to refuse and sometimes he's ended up on dates, or even having sex, he didn't really want.

At some point Foggy finds Matt being cornered by asshole doms and interferes, telling them to back off, Matt belongs to him. He apologises once he's got Matt alone, because he couldn't see any other way to keep Matt safe, but Matt appreciates the rescue, and Foggy ends up collaring Matt to stop people hassling him. (Pretty much everyone likes Foggy on campus, so people back off once Matt says that Foggy doesn't share.)

Eventually it turns from a show to protect Matt to something real.

also it's not exactly what you ordered, more foggy being like "christ matt u can't go home with everyone who offers u always end up in a bad place" but i hope u enjoy)

Matt was uncomfortable in that hazy, half-drunk sort of way he tended to get at frat parties. Foggy was off taking a piss or trying to hook up with some girl -- he hadn't explicitly stated where he was going, but Matt was fairly certain of the possibilities -- so he found himself sipping a beer at the fringes of the party, absently tapping his cane against the wall. He noticed someone approaching him. A woman, wearing quite frankly dangerously high heels and smelling of perfume and alcohol -- and beneath that, he might not have noticed if he weren't looking for it, wasn't already prepared for this, the sickly sweet scent of arousal.

If he was being honest with himself, and honesty was a rare and slippery beast in Matt's head, he knew he would end up regretting flirting with this girl. Hell, he was practically regretting it already. The doms that picked him up at frat parties were hardly ever any good, definitely not the type who knew anything about proper BDSM etiquette, and he almost always ends up uncomfortably picking up his clothes afterward a little too stiff and hazy without aftercare.

"Hey there," cooed an unfamiliar voice, cutting through his thoughts. "Friends dumped ya, huh? Me too." A lie.

"Ha," he responded, short, dry, "yeah. Dunno where he wandered off to..." He trailed off, knowing how small and vulnerable it made him sound. He was anything but vulnerable (well, emotionally maybe, but he stuffed those feelings right back into the vault they came from) but part of the fun was embracing the role. The stranger stood just a hair too close, almost possessive. Confident. Matt knew this game well.

"I hope you don't mind different company," she offered, inching closer still. "Couldn't help but notice an adorable guy like you alone back here."

"Oh! Uh, of course not." Matt gave a smile he hoped came across as shy, sheepish. "And thank you."

The stranger giggled a little. "No problem, sweetie. Can I get you another drink?" she asked, noting that he'd hastily drained the rest of his beer.

"I'm alright," he responded, almost bored.

She nodded, and he could sense the exact moment she decided to go all in. "You know, we could head back to my place if you're sick of standing here alone. I can show you a better time than this sweaty hellhole." He could hear her heartbeat pick up, worried he'd refuse, and the illusion of overt confidence was ruined for him. It usually was from the start, so he had to give this girl at least a little credit. He rubbed a hand through the scruff on his chin, then through the hair at the base of his neck. He didn't really want to go home with her. He also knew he was going to anyway. Some small part of him hoped knowing that this stranger wanted him would boost his tattered self esteem, carried over from a past he didn't care to think about at the current moment.

"Yeah?" was his response, half flirtation, half surrender. He was already resigned to the miserable rest of the night.

She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a very pissed-looking Foggy.

"Hey, Matt!" he said, trying to appear calm but failing miserably, at least from Matt's perspective. Foggy knew how these things tended to go, what this girl wanted out of him. He wasn't exactly fond of people taking advantage of Matt. Matt may have stretched the truth a little when he recounted his "dates", pushing more heavily on the aspect of feeling pressured into it rather than looking for meaningless sex to fill the hole in his heart. But, hey, he was allowed to keep some things to himself.

"Hey, Fog," said Matt, tiredly.

"Oh, hi." The girl shifted, as if sizing Foggy up.

"I don't mean to interrupt," Foggy said, "but I'll have you know Matt happens to be mine already, so beat it."

"Oh!" the girl said, startled. "I, uh, didn't know."

Foggy laughed, and Matt was sure that even someone without super senses would catch that it was forced. "Yeah, no worries. I'll be taking my boy home now, if you don't mind."

The girl smiled, genuine and a little embarrassed, and said "Of course." Foggy grinned toothily back, draping an arm over Matt's shoulders to guide him away, and something in Matt's gut twisted.

Like Mother, Like Son

Matt runs into someone from his family’s past. Maybe it’s a little awkward after so long, but Matt is willing to talk to them, learn a bit more about his father, maybe.

The person gets a good look at Matt’s life. They see the fallout from his recent decisions, see the trainwreck that all his personal relationships have become. And they say:

“...you’re just like your mother.”


Bonus: Matt is not okay with this. Because his mother abandoned him and Jack, cut ties completely, she thought they were better off without her so she bailed and - . He’s nothing like her. He’s not. (Cue one of those really horrible epiphanies.)

Pairing bonus: Matt/Foggy for preference if you go there, but gen is more than fine.

Oh my god. OH. MY. GOD. YES. A WORLD OF YES.

Imagine though that Matt doesn't KNOW THAT. He knows nothing of his mother, Jack refused to talk about her, just told Matt that her name was Grace, she had hazel eyes like Matt, and died when Matt was a baby. And Matt's spent his entire life thinking his mother was DEAD (because Jack didn't live long enough to tell him the truth) and now he finds out that she just LEFT.

That she said that Jack and Matt would be better off without her, that perhaps there was something she loved MORE than her family (some sort of a job?), that she just LEFT and never came back, and never spoke to Matt or Jack, and she clearly didn't want him, right? She didn't love him. SHE WOULDN'T HAVE LEFT IF SHE DID.

And yeah, OH. Horrible epiphany indeed.

AI Daredevil

Daredevil is actually an AI that is following a modified version of Asimov's law of robotics. ( Do not allow civilians to come to harm, use anything short of lethal force to stop criminals from harming civilians, live and let live with the police force). He would still be blind (no normal cameras), but he has extremely good microphones for hearing and enhanced smell/taste like usual. The Avengers suspect he is a robot, due to his robotic like behavior: not understanding emotions quite right, turning and leaving mid conversation the second he realizes all the civilians are safe, moving in a strange way, etc.

When Daredevil goes offline during a battle due to an EMP, their suspicions are confirmed and they take him back to the Tower to try and troubleshoot the problem as well as try and figure out who made him.

Basically, the Avengers trying to figure out what going on, Daredevil is kept in the tower while they do so, and maybe some AI feels. (Jarvis, Dummy, and the other bots are all there, does Daredevil get more along with them than actual humans?)

[I'm imagining Daredevil on a table in Tony's workshop, while Tony tries to hardwire Daredevil into Jarvis to look at Daredevil’s code/schematics. The rest of the Avengers are there to see what is happening as well, and start talking about who could have built DD, legal problems of him actually being an AI (will the government try to take DD? Will Tony try to claim ownership to protect him?), and once Daredevil is operational again bringing him around the tower to socialize/test how he reacts to things.]


+ If Daredevil was built with a budget in mind, so places that are normally covered by armor/clothes have no synthetic skin or details.

++ If this means he does not actually have eyes because they are normally covered by his mask/sunglasses

+++ If the person who built Daredevil was Foggy, who apparently is a genius with machines even though his dream is to be a lawyer (which he struggles with). He built Matt to be a study-aid and emotional support for when he has to go to trials and talk in front of groups. Foggy programed Matt with the laws of robotics, but didn't realize that with Matt's enhanced hearing, the laws are basically forcing Matt to go out in the middle of the night to protect people.

++++ M.A.T.T. (or whatever his AI name is) is actually an abbreviation for something completely unrelated to Daredevil, maybe something about law or an inside joke, and when it comes onto the screen in the Avengers Tower during the initial troubleshooting everyone gets confused.

Matt's not sleeping (Matt/Foggy)

After season 2, Matt’s not taking care of himself as well as he could. He’s eating a little less, staying out a little too long, pushing himself too far. And no matter how exhausted he is, he can’t seem to sleep.

The cure for this? Sleeping around Foggy.

Maybe he drops by Foggy’s place on some pretext to see him again, only to accidentally pass out completely on Foggy’s couch, falling into the deepest sleep he’s had in ages. Maybe Foggy comes by *Matt’s* apartment as a kind of peace offering, to fix his door or something, and while Foggy works Matt just nods off.

Matt hasn’t been able to just fall asleep like this in forever, but when Foggy’s there he feels - better. Like he's home.


+ 10 for Matt waking up with a blanket over him that Foggy obviously put there.

+ 100 for bed sharing at some point.

+ 1000 for falling asleep on Foggy.

Matt is a football fan

Stick isn't just about beating people or creepily training child soldiers for the War or just annoying them. The reason he feels quite informed in suggestion that Matt not get involved with women etc is because Stick can actually have a lot of game when he puts the effort into it.

He's quite successful.

Cue Stick seducing his way to information.

Matt is kind of impressed and slightly grossed out because he didn't need those images in his head.

This could be fascinating. I have a mental image of Stick smoothly changing his attitude depending on what the target (and they're women, they're always women) needs. A long line of girls in their 20s going OOOH over Stick being ~dark and mysterious~ and indulging their daddy!kink. Middle-aged women appreciating the fact that he can listen to them rant about their husbands and that he's completely fine being the occasional lover. Elderly women just appreciating all the FUN they're having.

I mean, there are some fairly explicit parallels between Elektra's feelings for Matt and Matt's feelings for Foggy - they both go hard on 'you are pure and good and deserve better'. And Elektra is much, much more direct about facing/dealing with her feelings than Matt.

(Will he stay with you if he knows the real you???? Matt keeps his senses secret for 10 years, tries to keep Foggy mostly in the dark even after he gets found out. Elektra demonstrates her murder bona fides within literal hours of getting the challenge.)

So what if Matt is angsting at her at some point about Foggy, and she's realizes the parallels, and instead of moping in the dark immediately goes to investigate this person? And Foggy is like, not a fan, okay, he has several different objections to her, but she's beautiful and charming and sharp (and Marci is his type, let's not forget) and also she doesn't lie to him. And she actually lets him know some of what Matt's world is like in a way Matt constantly refused to, which is a strong incentive to keep talking to/spending time with her. And while he's slowly getting, come on, kind of enamored, who could freaking blame him, she's seeing exactly what Matt sees in him - Foggy's kindness and his humility and his humor and his fierce stubbornness underneath. And she'd take him out for fancy wine and he'd actually appreciate it! He's not too catholic for nice things! And Foggy is honest with her, too - he doesn't like everything she does but he respects that she's trying to change without jerking her around with rapidly-retracted grand declarations like Matt kinda did, and he isn't trying to use her or stand in her way or make her choices for her - he's just very clear about where he stands..

And before they know it they're tipsy on champagne and sloppily making out on a balcony somewhere, while Matt skulks on the roof and cries manfully into the night, with the weirdest boner.

So in this AU, instead of being sent to jail, Frank is enslaved and, after a brutal six months of re-conditioning, sent to be legally owned by his lawyer, Matt Murdock. (Maybe Foggy is ineligible legally for some reason?)

Frank is still the Punisher/still can kill people but he's now completely traumatized and finds himself viscerally scared of/unwilling submissive to Matt, who has no idea how to do this.

A deal with the devil, gen

Inspired by a previous 'they think he's actually the devil' story

If people think there's a devil running around, they are going to want to deal. This would only be strengthened by the fact that sometimes, he answers...

So, not-actually-a-devil Matt, who feeds into the rumors about being a devil without even meaning to. Because sometimes they're asking impossible things, but sometimes they're asking for justice, or reporting a crime, or, well, things he actually can do. Or asking for help committing a crime, which he always answers promptly (with a resounding *no*). Even if people pass on what works, they might be vague and shifty enough for people not to notice the limit is actually what a person *can* do.

And he doesn't want bargains, but he doesn't want people owing or thinking they owe souls either (perhaps he mostly tries to get them to stop doing something they shouldn't, or to do community service). (and occasionally baked goods when he can't think of anything else and/or panics).

Maybe there's a divide between those who look at the small scale of the deals and think the devil prefers a slow temptation to fall, and those who think whatever bound him to the area prevents him from dealing for souls? And the few who still think he's human ranging from thinking its' a terrible idea to its hilarious?

I would also be interested in seeing Foggy (who does not know) trying to make a deal, and perhaps at some point even offering up his soul to a horrified Matt.

Frank/Any - expectations, nervousness, experience differences, Frank's only ever slept with Maria

So, people (in-universe, but also sometimes us, lol) tend to assume that he's had a lot of/varied/kinky sex, partly because he's a little older than the rest of the cast and partly because he's the Big Bad Punisher, and American ideas about masculinity tend to involve sexual conquest.

I'd really love to see some awkwardness about this not being the case, because he and his wife got together when they were pretty young, and while they weren't virgins on their wedding night, they WERE each others' one and only. So Frank is kind of shy/nervous about sleeping with someone else for the first time, in addition to any other guilt/conflict he might have about it.

Note: I'm definitely NOT looking for him to be bad or clueless in bed - I'm sure they had an active/attentive/affectionate sex life - just unsure of himself because he's only had one partner, and his partner not realizing this at first.

+ bonus if this results in his partner taking the lead and teaching him exactly what/how *they* like it

Frank sees how devastated DD is after Elektra dies. He's also shocked that none of his friends are around to offer sympathy and it shocks him: Matt and DD is a good guy. Matt has enough self-loathing to fill a stadium but he expected better of his friends. There is no malice in him but others seem to want him to suffer even though he is GRIEVING (really, who would want that?). Instead of disappearing Frank makes it his mission to be friends (and then maybe something more) for Matt.

We're all killers here, Gen or Frank/Matt, self-righteous Avengers getting called out

There are so many stories of the Avengers (and others) hating the Punisher for daring to kill people and confronting him about it, being all righteous and "We're the good guys, you filthy scum!". You can see that however you like, but the fact of the matter is: almost every single Avenger has killed people before, some even onscreen and very callously.

- There is no way Clint was never sent out on assassination missions, same with Natasha (who also killed many people before defecting). They are their best agents, and even a non-HYDRAfied SHIELD would have sent them to kill so. many. people.
- Thor regularly smites (and smashes and fries) the enemies of Asgard, can you really say he never killed one of his human foes? And do non-humans just not count? So we can't count the Jötnar, because they're "big blue monsters"?
- Banner can't control the Hulk at all, how come not a single soldier or innocent bystander died in one of his rampages (maybe even while he was on the run)? All the smashed buildings could have easily killed a few people.
- Steve regularly killed people in the war. There were explosions everywhere and you can't convince me that having a supersoldier smash a giant, reinforced hunk of metal into your face doesn't end in at least one person getting their skull pulverised. Even if you don't count that, he vehemently defends Bucky, who was an assassin for decades and even before that definitely put bullets into many peoples heads.
- Tony has very callously and obviously killed people onscreen, making witty remarks all the while. Just remember his getting out of that cave and his first Iron Man mission. And don't get me started on Ultron.

You see where the trend is going? And all of them had the same mindset: This is an enemy/terrorist/criminal! I'm doing what's right! They were hurting innocent people, they deserve it!

It sounds very, very familiar, because that is exactly the Punishers motivation. Yet they hate what he does, why? Because he's not government-sanctioned? Because he uses guns? He's too effective? They just don't like his logo?

I'd love to see a situation where a few or all of the Avengers very obviously confront Frank about his murdering ways, maybe telling him "his sob story doesn't justify this" or something similar, and then someone just snaps and tells them to stop with the BS, it's not like they're any better. Let that somebody really lay into them, not necessarily because they agree with Punishers methods, but because they hate the hipocrisy and holier-than-thou attitude.


I would love if that person was Matt, who definitely isn't cool with Punishers methods, but I get the feeling he would pick him over the insensitive and hypocritical Avengers any day (since he is also very not cool with the way they handled the aftermath of the NY Battle).


Bonus points if somebody unexpected backs him up. Random Hells Kitchen residents? The waitress from Franks favourite Diner? Karen?
Maybe have one person defend the Punisher because they think he's doing the right thing, to counterpoint Matt hating Franks methods, but hating the Avengers attitudes more.


Virtual cookies if Frank has a WTF? reaction, because he never thought Daredevil of all people would be on his side, and the random other people defending him just makes him go "what the hell is wrong with you all?". I could see him being very stoic when confronted by the Avengers, only to crack slightly when he gets help from an unexpected corner.


All my love if you somehow manage to turn this into Frank/Matt (or just them getting a friendship out of it), because the situation makes them rethink their stances a bit and learn more about each other?

General Ross - who admittedly may not be the least biased source - explicitly says the hulk is responsible for at least 5 or 6 deaths at the BEGINNING of the Incredible Hulk (2008) movie, which is technically MCU canon despite featuring Edward Norton, and that's before he rampages through a couple of metro areas.

In fairness to Bruce, though, he is generally pretty fucked up about that.

Avengers think Daredevil is *not human* - Frank is pissed

There have been a whole lot of prompts along the lines of the Avengers adding up Daredevil's personality quirks/limitations and coming up with wild theories to explain. (My favorite is them thinking he's a robot/AI)

The prompt is this, The Avengers have long since decided that DD is something not human (what that is, is up to author) and treat him as such. Not badly, but they don't bother asking if he's hurt, or needs help getting back home, etc.

Queue another 'all hands on deck' incident like the Chitauri invasion and Frank pitches in to help, the Avengers don't like working with him so they partner him up with Daredevil because a [robot/demon/vampire/whatever] and won't get hurt if The Punisher gets out of control (or whatever other dismissive thing they think about Frank).

Frank, being post s2 and knowing who Matt is is pissed. That's just straight up bad leadership, not understanding your teammate's weaknesses and limitations. And if he's worried about how many times has Matt's been hurt and the Avengers not even noticed he'll be sure to bring that up in private later.

Does he rip into the Avengers right there? Does he not say anything but Matt read his reaction and ask about it later?

Matt/Karen, she's more his type than he thought

Influenced by above: Matt may have initially been drawn to Karen when he believed her to be a brave but mostly innocent good-hearted girl. But he only really falls head over heels in love with her when he learns about all the things she's done these last two seasons she hadn't told him and Foggy about, as well as possibly some equally brave and arguably heroic but also kind of crazy things she also did before or after that.
Not that this necessarily makes things any easier between them, though I'd like a happy ending.

We see Matt does worry about Karen's safety but he already has admiration for those hints of that part of Karen that he's seen. The more he knows about Karen, the more I imagine both those aspects would grow - he'll be terrified over her getting hurt (ha, now he knows how Foggy feels) but I could so see him falling utterly in love with her for her courage and conviction and heroism. And, too, her recklessness and stubbornness. And I feel like Matt would understand any mistakes she'd made along the way.

Would this make things easier between them? Nope, probably not. They already have that rift in morality we sort of saw already. Then there's the fact that Matt falling in love doesn't in any way undo or change everything he burnt down between them during Frank's case. And what does Karen even think of Matt in return?

I can definitely imagine the same thing going on on Karen's side, too.

Somewhere in the background, Foggy is crying over the insanity that is these two disastrous human beings.
