Frank has brain damage, how does it affect him?

He's got a bullet in his brain, and going by the trial testimony, some moderate damage. Plus the memory loss we know about. I'd love a story exploring how it affects him in small ways, and where other people (Matt, Karen) notice. Does he start struggling for words in the middle of a rooftop argument with Daredevil? Turn up at Karen's place acting strange because uh, he can't actually remember going there or why, but doesn't want to admit to it?

I don't remember them mentioning memory loss, but the trial talked about him experiencing Extreme Emotional Disturbance, so any potential fillers could use that. Idk much about EED but the way they described it made it sound like he was hyped up on adrenaline all the time, kinda like in hypervigilance.

Found a transcript of the ep, too. It says the bullet fragmented in the right frontal lobe and temporal lobe. I'm stealing info from brain injury sites for writing fodder:

Frontal lobe damage symptoms: An injury to this part of the brain cancause changes in emotional control, initiation, motivation, and inhibition. An intolerance for frustration and easily provoked aggressive behavior are typical. Promiscuity and lethargy may also result. An injury to the frontal lobe can lead to the inability to plan a sequence of complex movements needed to complete multi-stepped tasks (such as making coffee).

Temporal lobe symptoms of major damage:
-Disturbance of auditory sensation and perception.
-Disturbance of selective attention of auditory and visual input.
-Disorders of visual perception.
-Impaired organisation and categorisation of verbal material.
-Disturbance of language comprehension.
-Impaired long-term memory.
-Altered personality and affective behaviour.

The Ladies of Daredevil/Jessica Jones - friendship centric

Basically, I am here for any/all dynamics featuring: Karen Page, Trish Walker, Jessica Jones, Claire Temple - and, to a lesser extent - Marci Stahl, Jeri Hogarth, Vanessa Marianna, and Elektra Natchios.

Bolded characters = my personal favs, obviously.

Ahem. Not a 'proper' prompt by any means, but whatever. For what it's worth - this isn't me saying 'NO PAIRINGS!1!'. I'd just like to read more character driven stories, that focus on the ladies, along with expanding backstories and the like. Pairings I'm not opposed to having featured: Trish/Jessia (totally understand if that's not your thing, but I have a soft spot for those two), Karen/Frank (I ain't sorry), Claire/Matt (*sigh* we could've had it alllllll), Claire/Jessia (suddenly I want this????)

Elecktra/Matt/Karen, Domme!Elecktra

Elecktra is very disappointed in Matthew for allowing Karen to think he was cheating on her. It hurt Karen's feelings and made both Matt and Elecktra look bad. Unacceptable!

Elecktra decides a fitting punishment for Matthew and apology/reward for Karen would be for him to give Karen a dozen orgasms, using only his hands and mouth. He's not allowed to use his dick on Karen unless she begs him for it, out loud.

bonus if Karen does eventually beg, but to be allowed to go down on Elecktra

double bonus if Elecktra decides to tie Matthew up (next to them in bed) while she and Karen enjoy each other, and he can only "watch", while she and Karen narrate in detail what they are doing to each other.

Frank/Karen, In which a one-off encounter results in a mini Frank or Karen

So, this was part of an idea I had for one of those 'epic' AUs, or whatever you wanna label it as. But, I'm me, so the chances of such a thing actually materializing are... not good. Maybe someone will take this on, maybe they won't. Still - here it is.

Some point after s2, Karen and Frank manage to cross paths once again. Shocker, right? For one convoluted reason or another, they end up releasing all that pent up sexual tension. Frank eventually moves on, and so does Karen. No biggie. Except - Karen discovers that she is - wait for it - pregnant. After much consideration, she decides to go through with the pregnancy. [Spoiler alert: Karen Page's life is messy as hell.]

Fast forward 5-ish years later, and Karen - still fighting the good fight over at The Bulletin - is a single mom, raising Frank Castle's child. And at the worst possible moment, he enters her orbit again. Shit, as they say, goes down.

I realize listing a bunch of wants is...overwhelming, and a major turn-off. But, to get a vague idea of what I was originally going for:

- Long-ish, plotty, Karen POV. Various dynamics, all surrounding Karen's personal and professional life.

- Emphasis on female friendships. I had this vision of Karen becoming bffs with Claire, Trish, Jessica - and perhaps even Marci, bc of her relationship with Foggy. But, yes. Karen and Frank's child is going to have some incredible 'aunts' in his or her life.

- Leading a very dangerous life while raising a child. Karen doesn't stop after becoming a mother. This makes for some risky situations. Fighting for the truth and all that means you brush shoulders with some incredibly dangerous people. How the hell does one go about protecting a innocent child in that sort of mess?

- Wilson Fisk. Oh, hey, remember him? The man who threatened everyone at Nelson and Murdock? Remember Wesley? Well, I was going to have him be released and fuck shit up. Karen, you in danger, girl.

- Frank and Karen. I do not, for one second, believe these two will ever have a 'normal', 'stable' relationship. Nor do I think a happy ending is in the cards for these two. However, that doesn't mean they couldn't make it work on some level. And with a child, well...that makes it all more complex. Can you imagine Frank discovering that he has a kid? It ain't gonna be pretty, folks. I just want something that explores their dynamic, in a truthful way. Let Karen be flawed but brilliant. Let Frank be Frank.

Self-Harm Matt, Angsty Matt/Foggy gen or slash

On those nights when Matt is wound tight but can't get the physical action he desires (or worse, there's absolutely nothing intense going on in Hell's Kitchen) Matt gets frustrated, and ends up developing a self harm habit. One day, Foggy notices (or walks in on it... a Matt and Foggy version of Secretary??)and he is, of course, not happy.

I would specifically like Matt cutting, realizing that it's a release for him, enjoying it almost like an orgasm, but it's up to you! Could be either gen or slash.

I bet Matt cuts on his hips. Wrists and hands are too obvious, too much risk of damaging something. Upper arms and tops of thighs would fuck him over in combat, and having the scabs repeatedly, unexpectedly rip open doesnt give him the same release as opening the wounds for the first time.

He doesnt bother trying to trace the existing scars. That's okay for disguising superficial wounds, but few of them are good locations to go deep.

When he traces the stretch marks on his hips and the sides of his ass ( not something he was prepared for when puberty hit.) he knows he's found the right place. Few to no muscles to damage (they say it's the best place to get shot) and nwhile not great for running or kicking, doesnt worry him as much as it would if he followed the muscle. It's easier to keep his hips still while working to avoid reopening the wounds during the day.

He doesnt take his briefs off for Claire. Even if he takes a hard scrape or blow in that area he patches it up himself
Maybe after a few days of agony he pulls the fabric aside ever so slightly to have Foggy evaluate a seperate injury. He didnt expect Foggy to pull the side of his briefs down to see the whole thing and start asking questions

Frank adopts a different kind of dog

Now that Foggy and Matt aren’t tied at the hip, Foggy finds himself getting constant, 'casual' updates from everyone about how Matt’s doing.

He hears it from acquaintances in the neighborhood. Karen, Claire. Maybe Marci if she sees Matt at the courthouse. Maybe even Brett, only he doesn’t talk about Matt so much as Daredevil, but the sentiment might very well be the same.


Bonus if Matt's also hearing an awful lot about Foggy, even when he’s not checking up on Foggy himself.

Basically, Karen has watches a bunch of videos of The Punisher doing his thing (maybe she's writing a follow-up article? or just wants to check up on Frank) and wow, that's actually super hot. Then Frank swoops in to save her from some baddies, and she gets to see him in action again, and they have hot, frantic, possibly blood-covered sex.

+100 if when Frank is "saving" her she's giving as good as he is, pulling out her pistol and shooting one of the guys.

Raft Prison Break-Out - Matt Has to Save Foggy (Minor CW Spoilers)

So imagine that, for whatever reason, Foggy has a client or someone involved with a client that requires him to go out to the Raft. And supervillains choose that moment to either break someone out or arrive to break someone out. And Foggy is caught in the chaos.

Now, Matt has to save him.

Some version of the Avengers (either side of CW) could already be onsite and Matt then has to navigate them being there or Foggy has to work with them.

Bonus: Supervillains we've seen in the MCU are there (maybe someone who has worked with Fisk and has it out for Foggy even) - for example, any of the AoS villains, or Abomination, or Nuke, or even a supposed to be dead but isn't Kilgrave.

Gen or other, H/C Permanent injury forces daredevil to retire & Foggy's glad

Set sometime post season 2 after Foggy and Matt go their separate ways. The next big bad somehow clues into Daredevil relying on his other senses to do what he does and finds a way to permanently limit or damage them. Maybe they remove an eardrum, resulting in permanent hearing loss and issues of vertigo. (Would prefer if he's not rendered fully deaf). Or something else entirely as long as it effectively ruins Daredevil's career and (arguably) Matt's life.

After awhile, Foggy learns through Brett or Karen or Facebook (lol) that Daredevil has retired and he's happy about it... until he finally runs into Matt and realises exactly why Matt's called it quits. Cue moral dilemma about being relieved Matt's just a "normal" blind man and no longer risking his life as the man in the mask.

Alternatively, it doesn't have to be permanent damage. I'm just here for Matt whump with a conflicted Foggy... little to no c with my h just fuck me up :)

Could be something less extreme than that, a knee injury that won't heal. He's fine for the most part, but can't keep up the level of athleticism needed to be Daredevil without making it worse again.

Though, being Matt I bed he'd go out anyway, if there was something he knew about that he needed to take care of...

Foggy might not even realize what the problem is at first, and then DD goes out one last time and Matt winds up in a wheelchair for three weeks...

Or something.

Frank/Matt - hypersensitivity

So there is this amazing fic (http://archiveofourown.org/works/6372337) in which Matt is hypersensitive, esp to pleasure, and gets off on Frank gently stroking his face and neck. Of course, my sinful mind immediately proposes that Matt would probably lose it twice as hard if Frank were to come all over Matt's face.

Bonus for one or both naked, but not quite touching (Frank shifting away teasingly as Matt squirms beneath him), Frank's dirty thoughts/dialogue, and Matt getting completely wrecked on so little stimuli (the smell of Frank's sweat, the warmth of his breath, the taste of his come when a little drips into Matt's mouth etc)

Matt goes to talk to Foggy. They are not in the best of terms still but after what happened with Tony Stark and Captain America and the consequences, he needs help deciding if he has to register. If his senses counts as a superpower.

He talks to Karen, Father Lantom, even Stick but eh feels they are not helpfull.

He wants tot alk to his friend so he goes to Foggy's apt one night and waits for him there.

Frank+Maria Castle / Matt, double Punishers

I'd really like to see an AU fic where Maria also survived her wounds and she and Frank become the Punisher together--maybe she was also ex-military, or ex-SHIELD, or a Black Widow graduate, or even an ex-Hand member.

Eventually, she and Frank double-dom (or she doms, Frank does as directed) Matt.

Matt was always hanging around Fogwells when his dad was alive, learned how to adjust to his blindness while there, did his homework there - he had to have gotten at least a little close to the other boxers besides his dad, especially if someone there knows him well enough to let him keep using the gym after hours.

So give me that. The other boxers mourning Battlin' Jack alongside Matt, and leaving their doors open for him even when he had to go to the orphanage. Maybe they're suspicious of Stick (or they never meet Stick and are really concerned for Matt when he suddenly stops hanging out with them so much and showing up with mysterious injuries). What did they think of Battlin' Jack's son finally making it into college, then law school, then graduating? Has Matt every represented/been a lawyer for any of these guys who watched him grow up?

Bonus for them knowing about Matt's fighting skills (even if they don't understand how he's doing it), and maybe figuring out he's Daredevil. Or even just them somehow finding out he's Daredevil without knowing, beforehand.

Double bonus if they're the reason why Matt never found Roscoe Sweeney - many of them still had to work for the guy, and they obfuscated Matt's search in an effort to protect him (or maybe they managed to talk Matt out of doing anything).

Triple bonus if Matt breaking and entering into Fogwells and screwing a cute girl in the ring ever comes up, somehow.

Just give me a bunch of avuncular old boxers who remember Matt back was when he was little Matty, Jack's son. :D

Taking inspiration from the prompt a bit above....

What happens if the next criminal mastermind Daredevil goes up against has innate powers that negatively affect Matt's senses? The criminal may not even be aware that her/his abilities mess with Matt's head at first; it's just how they are naturally. All they know is that Daredevil is surprisingly easy to take down. Like, how has he made it this far? He fought against and survived Nobu? Really?? Hmm...

I don't what these powers could be... maybe (s)he emits a high pitched frequency that only Matt can hear or they give off electromagnetic pulses that destroy Matt's equilibrium. Whatever it is, Matt can't win against this person.

+++ Bonus points if Frank comes across the pair, realizes something's wrong, and saves Matt from getting killed.
+++ Extra bonus points if it's heavy on H/C but with Frank's unique brand of comfort.

FILL: Matt loses his hearing and calls Foggy for help

Foggy’s phone rang at three am.

There had been a time, not that long ago, when that hadn’t been all that unusual. The urge to ignore it briefly crossed his mind. It would serve Matt right if …

But it might not be him. Matt hadn’t called him in over a month. Foggy kept a close eye on the news and twitter feeds for sightings of Daredevil, afraid every day that Matt would be found dead or get shot or arrested. More than once, he found himself sitting on his fire escape in the middle of the night, listening for sounds of… he didn’t know what. He wasn’t Matt; he couldn’t hear distinct heartbeats two blocks away, all he heard were distant sirens and car horns. No sign of Daredevil, no sign of Matt Murdock.

The number was unknown. Matt’s burner phone?

He doesn't have to expect the worst; he already knows it will be the worst.

Maybe not. Maybe it’s a wrong number. Or maybe Matt got drunk and forgot how stubborn he was.

“What’s wrong?” Are the first words out of his mouth because he knows deep down there is no way Matt isn’t calling at three am just to chat.

“Matt is that you?”

Traffic sounds and heavy breathing were all that answered. "You better not have just butt dialed me at three a.m. buddy. Nope. Strike that- I hope that is exactly what you did. Come on. Talk. What’s the-”

“Foggy.” The sound of Matt’s voice was wrong. Not his scary Daredevil voice wrong, this wasn’t that voice. “Foggy. Foggy.” Matt was breathless, the words strangely slurred and unformed.

“Matt? What the hell?”

A few more moments had passed in silence before Matt started speaking again. “I need help, Foggy. You’re the only- please. I’m in trouble. I’m on 42nd street, I think. I believe that it's 42nd. There’s a meat store. I can smell it. I'm in the doorway of a meat store. Foggy, I can’t hear. Everything is dark.” Foggy was already up and pulling on socks and an old college t-shirt and sweatpants. All he needed were shoes, and he was out the door. Wait. He went back in for his baseball bat.

On the phone, Matt started saying his name again and then repeated his message. “I can’t hear anything. I’m on 42nd in the doorway of a meat market. I need your help. Please.” The line went dead and then rang again a moment later. Matt. Same message.

A cab would be a waste of time. 42nd Street was only two blocks away. He only knew of the one deli place on 42nd in the neighborhood, Mikey’s Meats. Foggy ran.

The street was dark and silent. Matt hung up, Foggy’s phone rang again. Matt. Same message.

He slowed down at the deli. He hoped it was the right place. If not, he would search every meat store in Hell's Kitchen until he did find the right one.

Even at three am there was traffic. Foggy stopped at the front entrance. The brick wall came out and angled, creating a space protected from the street.

His phone rang again. This time, he left it in his pocket, because he could hear Matt speaking. Saying his name, saying the same message all over again.

“Matt,” Foggy called out.

Nothing. Matt continued talking into the phone. Even in the shadows Foggy could see he was still dressed in his daredevil outfit, but with the mask off. Matt sat crouched, clutching his phone. His hands were shaking. “Foggy, I need your help. I’m on 42nd street, in the doorway of a meat market. Please, I need-”

Foggy approached carefully. He wasn’t sure how to go about this part because any easy way of identifying himself to Matt was out the window, and he didn't want Matt to accidently attack him either.

But, he knew his friend well enough by now to have picked up on a few tricks. He clapped his hands.

It worked, Matt couldn't hear Foggy clap, but he felt the soundwaves and the motion in the air. Matt flinched backward in surprise, and Foggy winced in sympathy as his head bumped against the brick wall. Matt stopped talking into the phone.

Foggy clapped again. Matt didn’t flinch this time, but he did place a hand against the wall.

Again, Foggy clapped this time to the tune of shave and a hair cut, two bits.

“Foggy?” Matt reached out, and Foggy met him halfway and wrapped his fingers around Matt’s hand. Matt pulled him closer, pulling Foggy’s hand up near his face, inhaling deeply, before releasing a choked sob and dragging Foggy into a sudden hug.

“You got- you got my call. Thank you. Foggy, Thank you.” Matt whispered.

Foggy couldn’t think of much to do other than hug him back. It felt wrong not to be talking.

“I’ve got you. I’ve got you.” He pulled Matt onto his feet and Matt tucked his arm into Foggy’s, half his body pressed right up against his side.

Foggy kept to as many shadows as possible while leading Matt back to his apartment. It wasn't like this was his first time leading Matt somewhere while injured. Even in New York, it was weird to be walking down the street at three a.m. with a guy wearing what looked like a motorcycle suit. Not conspicuous at all.

Matt was not steady on his feet. Foggy led him as carefully as possible, which meant they walked slow and Matt stumbled as though he couldn't even trust where the pavement was.

And through it all Foggy kept up a steady stream of verbal diarrhea. Matt at some point placed his hand flat on Foggy’s back and held onto his arm with his other hand. It felt like an awkward wedding march.

“I wish I could ask you if there’s going to be ninja’s following us or something.” Foggy sighed. “You’d have probably warned me if there was any danger, though, wouldn't you? Okay, stay put. Let’s get this thing off you.” Foggy reached around for the neck clasp, Matt caught his hand and took over. Slowly peeling off the layers of the outfit until he was standing in his underwear in Foggy’s living room. There were no injuries, at least nothing that looked new, and no blood.

The blanket on the couch would do, Foggy grabbed it and shook it out; he wrapped it around Matt’s shoulders, and Matt caught the edges, pulling it close around himself.

He led Matt to the couch and pressed on his shoulder to direct him to sit down. Matt sat.

“My ears, Foggy it’s my ears. I don’t know what happened; I don’t know,” Matt said, he reached out again and caught Foggy’s hand, and then slowly, hesitantly brought his hand up to his ear. He tilted his head slightly, and Foggy saw the blood dried there, but Matt brought his hand up to his ear.

There was a memo pad on the coffee table, Foggy reached over and grabbed it, tearing off the top page and placing it on a paperback novel. He took a pen and pressed deep into the paper.

Hospital?

He placed the paper in Matt's hand, running this finger over the letters. “No. No hospitals.”

He tore off another paper.

Claire?

Matt nodded. “Yes, please. That’s good. Thank you, Foggy.”

Foggy took back his hand and picked up his phone and dialed Claire. She answered on the third ring, sounding tired but alert. Matt started talking again, but Foggy patted his arm then guided his hand up to touch the phone.

Matt stayed quiet and placed his hand on Foggy’s chest.

Foggy quickly gave Claire the highlights, and she reluctantly agreed to come over.

The whole time Matt’s hand stayed on Foggy’s chest, palm flat and fingers splayed out.

“I can only imagine how much this must be freaking you out, buddy,” Foggy patted Matt’s hand and then wrote again on the paper he’d used earlier.

Claire is on her way

“Okay,” Matt breathed out harshly and then repeated it as he placed his hand yet again firmly against Foggy’s chest. “Your ribs vibrate when you talk. You’re talking a lot.”

“You don’t listen when you can hear me, so I don’t see what the difference is,” Foggy answered. He tore off another piece of paper.

Feels weird not to talk to you.

“Okay. It’s good. I like feeling you-” Matt stopped talking. “Thank you. I know I haven’t been around for you. Thank you for being here.”

Always.

Matt’s thumb traced the words over and over again.

PRETTY MUCH WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN

From what we see in canon, it's clear that Elektra is pretty kinky, but also pretty wild and off-the-cuff about it. I'd love to see a Frank who figured out kink in a really stable, trusting context with Maria (and who is better at asserting his boundaries than Matt) teach her that she can have what she wants without being as reckless about other people, or herself. I'd extra love it if Frank was still his gruff self, rather than sounding exactly like a wiki entry.

(OP is open to Matt being around too, in any role, but he's definitely not required.)

So after S2 Frank and Matt have been trying to give each other space (Frank avoiding Matt because Matt might try to stop him, and Matt avoiding Frank so he doesn't accidentally give him any leads and can get as many criminals to the cops as possible). When they do meet, they usually work together successfully, with varying levels of murder but lots of arguing. Still, criminals off the streets one way or another is a win.

But Frank gets a lead on the Blacksmith and is determined to kill him. Matt goes after him to both try to stop him from killing and to make sure Frank doesn't get himself killed too. Unfortunately it goes much like the boat: Frank gets the wrong guy (the drug dealer could be related to the Blacksmith or just a unrelated criminal) and Matt knows it and tries to stop him. Frank doesn't care. Frank wants him dead. Matt, however, is able to evacuate the guy by holding off Frank. When Frank sees him getting away, he goes berserk on Matt.

Just give me Frank going Full Punisher and beating the living shit out of Matt without thinking, and Matt just able to fight back enough to keep Frank from running after the guy. At some point (when Matt's unconscious?) Frank comes back to himself, freaks out about what he's done, and carries Matt back to a safe house to take care of him.

Matt/Foggy -- rough sex

Let's just say, Matt and Foggy cross paths post-season 2. They haven't been talking but they can't help but somehow check up on each other (thinking the other doesn't know). Maybe Matt as Daredevil camps out outside Foggy's window. Maybe Foggy walks by Matt's building. Thus, they end up meeting (however you want) and end up talking and somehow end up in bed together (seriously, whatever you want to happen, it can happen as long as there's angst and preferably Matt tops).

Sex alternates between tender and hateful. At some point, Matt just becomes so angry (at himself, at Foggy, at everything) that he just gets too rough, so he makes sure Foggy feels it and remembers it.

Bonus if there's choking.

Double bonus if Foggy goads him on (telling Matt to fuck him faster, mentioning other people who've fucked him in the past, etc)

Split Identity

Hello! First time posting a prompt here :)
So wavey-hand-comic-magic/science happens, and Daredevil gets split into multiple people/personas, either mentally or literally (as in there are all of a sudden three or more Matt Murdocks in the room!). Each of the personas/people have different aspects of Matt's personality; writer's choice what those are, but as an example his anger, insecurities, lust, charisma, etc.
Can be gen, pre-slash, slash, h/c, what-have-you. Someone (Foggy, Claire, Frank, Karen) has to deal with multiple Matts, helps him(s) cope, and learns more about his various issues.
