Frank and Matt's exchanges can get a little heated and they have somehow slipped into a relationship. It doesn't change their dynamics where they argue and fight. Frank discovers Matt loves being manhandled and it progresses from there.

Increasingly ridiculous nicknames, Matt/Foggy or gen

Foggy is a worried worrier who worries, so instead of lying awake for hours hoping that Matt's alive, thinking about all the ways he could lose him, Foggy puts himself to sleep by thinking of silly nicknames to call Matt the next time they see each other. He reaches "candycane" levels of ridiculous before Matt catches on and they have A Talk about vigilante safety and how "petnames aren't professional".

Soulmate body swap, inspired by earlier prompt

There was a prompt earlier where soulmates swap bodies at some point and have to find one another in order to swap back. It's a great idea but it gave me another idea.

At some point during their lives, two soulmates who have met and know each other well, swap bodies permanently. After all, soulmates are essentially two halves of the same person, the body they are in is immaterial. It doesn't happen to everyone, and nobody knows what triggers it, but nobody has ever swapped twice.

Matt and Foggy are soulmates (platonic or otherwise) and Matt lives in fear that it will happen to them, he doesn't want Foggy to have to experience the world as he does, plus it would mean hanging up the Daredevil suit for good. He tries to distance himself from Foggy in the hopes that that will prevent the switch. Foggy, on the other hand, almost wants it to happen. He finds the idea a little scary, but he thinks it will save Matt. He starts to live healthier so his body will be healthy for Matt if he ever inhabits it, and learns Braille and cane technique etc in case he needs it.

Maybe they do switch, maybe they don't, author's choice.

Only Matt is kind of making friends with Foggy again...and sleeping with him.

Foggy is kind of sleeping with Marci.

And Karen is kind of hooking up with Frank.

Frank is hooking up with everyone because he might be in a plot for vengeance but his sex drive is back, with a vengeance.

And no one is saying anything about it.

Except for Frank who refers to everyone in vague titles to the others.

And Matt during confession. But that's not something Lanthom blabs about.

Sadistic Actual-Devil!Matt vs Punisher

Matt is actually a devil and spends his time beating criminals to a pulp on earth, because why not make sinners suffer on two dimensions? Frank still becomes the Punisher and thinks killing is the best plan. Matt only disagrees because killing means his victims can't suffer any more on this plane, but he lies and keeps up his "moral" facade.

This goes on until one night they both track down a Very Bad Person and Frank kills him and Matt just can't hold back his frustration because godDAMMIT HE WAS GONNA BREAK THAT GUY'S LEGS. The truth comes out and Frank feels really conflicted because he does want these bastards to suffer but Matt is doing it for the wrong reasons.

Now that he knows Hell is totally real, does Frank still feel the same motivation to kill? What's the difference between killing them and leaving them to Matt? Is killing now a mercy? And what is going to happen to his soul?

I don't think killing a serioussinner is a mercy. People that are tracked down by the devil even as they live are quite likely to find themselves in Hell once they die.

Also, can't Matt reach them down there? Make them suffer everything he had planned for tchem, whether they are alive or not?

So last night I dreamt about these two, and now all I crave is some fluffy Steve Rogers/Matt Murdock yum.

I would prefer Steve/Matt to Captain America/Daredevil; Steve knowing that Matt is blind, feeling for him, wanting to nurture him because he's sweet and good like that. So yes, he would have to know his identity, somehow (or perhaps not? Maybe he meets Matt as his lawyer self instead of Daredevil). Oh, and Steve finds him incredibly handsome, of course!

I really liked Frank's reaction to Matt's 'Maybe this once we do it your way'. He knows killing is a huge line for Matt and he sounded like he didn't want Matt to cross it because he knew Matt would struggle with it.

So maybe Fisk has gotten out of prison and is up to his usual things and Matt goes to confront him, determined to kill him this time. And Frank follows him and when things inevitably go to shit, he shoots Fisk. Better on his conscience than on the choirboy's.

Matt is a mutant. The accident didn't give him his powers, it just stressed him enough to make them show. So when Daredevil is in serious trouble, the x-men show up to help him.

This inspired me to write a thing! It's not exactly what you'd asked for; instead of the X-Men helping Daredevil, it's more the Jean Grey School/Xavier Institute helping Matt Murdock. (more MCU based, but I messed with everyone's ages to get the school I wanted) I included some of my favorite x-men things: older teacher Logan, shipping Logan+Storm, young adorable Nightcrawler, young Scott with no self-confidence. The professor comes off as a jerk because somebody needed to for plot reasons. But that stuff is mostly pretty much in the background.

I'm maybe 2/3 of the way done in my draft, and I'm posting this up unedited (ignore any misspellings unless they're really funny). I don't like the Foggy and Karen pieces but they're useful as exposition vehicles, so I dunno.

X The Present X

It'd been a few years and a lot had changed about Scott. He paused for a long while around the corner, probably consulting a map or somebody at the Institute for directions. But when he started walking, it was assured, crisp and military. Matt recognized his heart at the corner, but his cologne was different, he'd swapped out canvas sneakers for what sounded like steel toed boots, his hands were held loosely at his sides instead of hidden in jacket pockets. He'd filled out in the shoulders and just in general, not the beansprout teenager Matt remembered. And that was all before he started speaking.

"So, Murdock, did you lose our phone number?" Scott dropped down to sit on the steps next to Matt. This was a good spot. There was a bakery down the street and they baked from scratch, the scent of yeast and caramelizing sugars and clean flour lingered. The people in the apartment didn't pay much mind if you sat next to the steps for just a little while. The wind tended to blow such that the building acted as a buffer. It was a good spot.

"I wasn't expecting to have to hear from Rachel that you were in need of an intervention. Now, Illyana I'd have expected this from. Maybe some of the others. But we had an understanding, didn't we?"

Matt huffed a laugh and fished the remains of the burner phone from his pocket. He tossed it in Scott's general direction; Scott scooped it out of the air without looking. The phone hadn't survived his last swim in the Hudson, though it'd lasted through two falls and Matt taping the battery in with electrical tape. "Phone died," he said.

"I can see that. I hear, big city like New York, they still have pay phones."

"Electra died," Matt continued, cutting him off. "I just can't, right now."

Scott nodded. "Okay. Your old room is empty, waiting for you. I'm going to call Kurt and get us a ride home."

"It's not my home."

Scott moved as if to put his hand on Matt's shoulder, but didn't, drifting a few inches away. "It's my home," he said finally. "And you don't have anywhere to go. And I want to be there for you. Stay with me for awhile."

Matt couldn't work up the momentum to argue, he knew he should, he couldn't leave, but he couldn't manage to explain that to Scott. So he sat and listened while Scott made his phone call. He could've heard Kurt on the other side, if he focused, but instead he let himself linger on the sound of Scott's watch in counterpoint to his own, just a moment out of sync. They'd drifted apart at some point. He wondered if he was the one losing time.

"Yeah Kurt. Rachel was right. I've got two to beam up, okay?"


The room was the same as he remembered. The scent of dust lingered, but it hadn't been anyone's room in awhile. Maybe they'd never given anyone his room. It was sunny and the blankets were warm to touch. His shoes, once toed off, fit between the bed and the bedside table. The lampshade with its beaded fringe was still there, even tough everyone had claimed it was ugly. He let his fingers drift through it and listened for the tinkle of glass on glass.

The kitchen on the floor below bustled with people and footsteps in the hall echoed, resonant. The sounds seeped in around the door frame and he wasn't sure what to do with the feelings that accompanied them. They felt like warmth. He'd been cold so long he'd stopped noticing.

Nick Fury woos Daredevil

Post season 2 and Foggy and Matt are not talking. Matt has tried to be civil and keep the lines opens but Foggy starts using his new job as as an excuse (he's too busy, he's seeing someone) and knows he is hurting Matt. Matt is struggling; he's mourning Elecktra and desperately in need of a proper support system. He's still talking to Claire and she continues to be the kick ass friend he needs but it is still not enough.

Nick Fury hears of Daredevil and wants to recruit him. He starts sending Avengers to follow and assist him before he makes a move. Completely up to you if there is a romantic relationship or if Fury can offer friendship and support for the vigilante side of Matt.

Maybe Foggy can try to renew his friendship with Matt but realises it is too late and Matt has moved on.

Gen: Peter gets advice on awkward teen stuff from Matt

What if after they've known each other for a bit, Peter starts coming to Matt for advice about all the awkward growing up stuff teenagers have to do? It's hard for teenagers to talk about these things with the adults they know, but with Daredevil, Spiderman does have a bit more anonymity because of the masks. Maybe because Matt presents himself as someone who knows a lot, so SPiderman naturally tries to get his advice on some very personal things including but not limited to:


-How to deal with someone who's worrying about you and chafing under authority
-Relationships. How to get attention someone who is out of your league. How to get girls/guys to like you. How to deal with an inappropriate crush on someone you look up to (Maybe Peter is crushing on a teacher, another MCU character, or on poor Matt LOL).
-Sex. High schoolers can get tons of bad sex advice from other high schoolers. Also, the Avengers may or may not throw out nuggets of terrible wisdom when it comes to sex and relationships and maybe Spiderman feels like he has to run some things by poor Matt every once in awhile.

I mean, just how would Matt react to someone who looks up to him trying to get advice on VERY personal growing up stuff? Matt would probably feel severely under qualified fielding some of these questions. Think of the hilarity! Matt probably also has some gems of wisdom of his own in there, too.

Frank Castle & the people of Hell's Kitchen

Frank is supposed to be dead, but he's still walking around Hell's Kitchen with fairly minimal disguise. At the trial we saw that he has a fair bit of support, so there must be people who recognise him and never say anything, or even quietly help him.

I'd love to read something about the diner waitresses, corner shop owners, garbage men and other night workers in Hell's Kitchen who interact with Frank, not afraid of him because they get his code, and sometimes they help him - with information, letting him use the shop bathroom and first aid kit, giving a piece of apple pie on the house, with concealer for his bruises, maybe letting him hitch a ride on the garbage truck for a couple blocks, that sort of thing

So it has hit me that essentially the problems Matt and Foggy end up having with each other come from the fact they have very different character alignments.

Foggy is the epitome of Lawful Good, to the point that he could be considered a paladin. Matt swings between being Chaotic Good and Chaotic Neutral. He's a rogue.

Someone figures this out, sits them down, and starts a D&D game with them, so they can hash out their worldview differences in the game as opposed to in real life.

Crack or serious, either works.

After season 2 Matt slowly starts rebuilding his life. Desperate to protect his friends he keeps his distance (as do they) and everything seems to be fine. He's not living, he's existing as a lawyer by day and vigilante at night. When he learns he's inherited 100s of millions from Elecktra he tries to ignore it first, still reeling from her death.

Until Tony Stark enters the scene. He's keen to find out more about this new shareholder who owns a hefty percentage of Stark Industries. What he finds confuses the hell out of him - a young blind attorney taking on pro bono cases (despite his amazing qualifications) with a frugal lifestyle. He's intrigued and attracted and what starts out as inquisitiveness turns to fascination and attraction, as he gently woos Matt. Over time Matt starts to respond.

Would love if he met the rest of the Avengers who all treat Matt like a baby bird, and are shocked he is interested in Tony. Until the big reveal about his Daredevil side...

If you do a relationship it can be with Tony (or one of the other Avengers) but bottom Matt only please.

im weak for Matt/Tony tbh, even weaker for Avengers xovers, and Reveal fics make me swoon, so in short, this getting filled would just about make me faint in pure happiness.

Office Fish Tank

After much convincing, Karen and Foggy get an aquarium for the office. Not a tiny one either, they go all out; a breathtaking aquascaped planted tank or a beautiful marine reef tank. The clients love it, Foggy's named every single inhabitant, Karen spends a good portion of her free time cooing over beautiful setups on pinterest/tumblr/youtube etc., they don't stop getting complements on it, people seem more relaxed and it keeps any clients' kids occupied.

Everyone loves it... Except Matt.
Matt hates it. It smells. The filter's noisy. It's expensive. Humidity levels in the office have spiked. And most importantly; even with super senses there's absolutely no way for him to enjoy it. To Matt, it's literally just an annoying, wet, glass box. They should've just gotten an office plant.

But Foggy really doesn't want to give up Sebastian the cleaner shrimp.

Could be anything - a full body hug that lingered too long, a finals stress-relief massage, he overheard him getting off on his own or with a partner, a late night call with Foggy’s voice low and laughing in Matt’s ear. Matt is date-raped while at Columbia. Foggy helps him through it, but it destroys him emotionally to see his best friend hurt in such a horrific way. Pain gives way to rage and he comes up with a way to "deal" with Matt's rapist.

He can either kill the rapist himself or can hire someone to do it for him. Doesn't matter. I just want dark!Foggy taking revenge on the asshole who hurt Matt.

I have seen a/b/o fics where Matt is an Alpha and Foggy is an Omega, and vise versa, one where Matt is a Beta and Foggy an Omega, and vise versa, ect. But I have never seen anything with both of these two as Omegas.

Give me independent, college-aged bffs whose heat cycles have synced up, who don't having the patience/trust needed to find Alphas to help them through it, curling up in bed together all hot and writhing and getting each other off to take the edge away. Desperate fingering that isn't anything close to a real knot but is better than nothing. Eating each other out. Kissing all over faces to and necks to try and distract from how empty they both feel. Non-verbal, tactical communication about what they both need.

He's done with Matt and the whole Daredevil thing, thinking it selfish even though he is working with Jessica Jones etc. One day a man comes in with an unusual request: he wants to find Daredevil as his son wants to thank him. Foggy learns about the Matt taking on the Russians in season 1 to rescue the little boy.

It makes Foggy realise there is a need for Matt and he starts to understand why Matt can't give up the whole Daredevil deal.
