So S2 is coming in March! And as excited as we all are, I’m sure we’re all sad that it means that older prompts on the meme might just get forgotten about. So, this challenge is designed to keep us all inspired for the next couple of months, highlight the very best prompts on the meme for newbies and people who come post-S2 and want to get in the wayback machine, and just be fun for everyone!

There are multiple ways to participate in this challenge, even if you’re only a reader or lurker!


1. NOMINATE PROMPTS AND DISCUSS NOMINATIONS

This challenge is about discovering the hidden gems, forgotten about favourites, and most talked about, inspiring ideas hidden in the 6,000+ prompts on this meme and distilling them down to the favourites, the best of the best.

We need you to nominate your favourite unfilled prompts (from Prompt Post #1 to Prompt Post #8) across the following 21 subcategories:

You must choose only one category even if it fits into multiple categories (so an AU doesn’t have to go into the AU category, or an Ableism prompt doesn’t have to go there but can be considered hurt/comfort, for example). You don’t have to be the OP of the original prompt. You can nominate as many prompts as you’d like in as many categories as you’d like.

How does your nomination rise to the top?

Well, if it’s the only one in its category, it’s the winner by default. But if it’s not, a points system will be applied as follows:

• 1 point - each brief comment seconding the nomination (+1, seconded, *camping out*, etc.)
• 2 points - each additions to the prompt (suggestions on what could happen, conversation even if it veers OT that’s related, etc.) and comments on those additions
• 3 points - each mini-fill completed on the fill under 1000 words

This applies only to the new repost thread. What does this mean? Encourage people to second your nomination! And second others nominations if you want them to win too! We want to ensure that the prompts that win are the ones that everyone is really excited to see filled.

If it gets filled, fantastic! It will be disqualified from being nominated, but everyone’s happy because someone filled it! :D

2. SIGN UP AS A WRITER OR MULTIMEDIA FILLER

We are looking for writers, fan artists, or other multimedia artisans willing to commit to participating in the challenge from February 1 - March 15th.

The sign-up deadline is January 31, 2015. To sign up, click here to indicate the name you would like to use for the challenge (which does not have to be your fandom name) and the categories you are most interested in filling for and provide your email address to the challenge mod. If you are contributing something besides writing, indicate what that is as well.

Multimedia options include:

• Fan Mix
• GIFs
• Meta

Don’t take the list above as limiting. Any other suggested creative contribution (in case there’s someone out there who crochets or does flash animations or something) would also be welcomed.

You can state that you wish to write AND provide another kind of fill if you’re willing to fill a prompt in more than one category.

On February 1st, 21 winning prompts will be announced, one in each category. The prompts will be first come-first serve, with one writer and one multimedia filler being able to claim each one here on the meme. You can choose to write more than one fill for more than one category if you want. Fillers working on the same prompt are encouraged to be collaborative.

Written fills must be a minimum of 2500 words.
The deadline for all fills is March 15, 2015.

Once the prompts are all claimed, the fillers working on them will be announced to the kink meme community and there will be an open discussion area here on that prompt so that people can encourage you as you write, including offers to beta, new ideas or thoughts, and general cheerleading.

3. GENERAL CHEERLEADING AND WORD-SPREADING!

For this challenge to be successful, we need to bring back some people who may have left the kink meme or who may not realize one of their prompts is being boosted. We need to encourage writers and other fillers not just to sign up, but also to finish their fills. We may need pinch hitters and betas and additional organizers to catalogue the prompts nominated, etc. Primarily, we just need an active group of people willing to keep this meme and this challenge interesting.

So please spread the word even if you’re not participating, here and on Tumblr and in whatever fandom space you’re in with Daredevil fandom! And encourage the great conversations and community on this meme who make it what it is! This challenge is for everyone, and so we hope you all participate and enjoy it.

Are those sub-bullets examples that fit into those categories, or the only things that can be nominated in that category?

Ex., for AUs the list is:

Demons or Magical Realism
Fusion
Soulmate or Soulmark

Does that mean ONLY those type of AUs can be nominated (thus a Coffee Shop AU prompt is out), or is that only an example of what can be put forward?

What happens if I don't sign up as a filler (5000 words can feel daunting) but decide to do a mini-fill and it ends up being more than 1000 words? Would that be allowed?

A couple of questions here!

First, and it's my big one, what time are the prompts going to be released and will it be fair(ish) to all timezones? I'm in a well, awkward timezone and while I've signed up I really don't want to have absolutely no chance to get any prompt I really want because it releases at 3am my time.

And secondly, what happens if more than 21 people sign up? Is this only for the first 21 people to sign up?

Important question! At least for me as my participation relies on the answer.

For the sake of this question, let's assume that 21 or less people sign up. The difference in timezones means that there's a distinct possibility that someone will get fucked. So, what happens if - when a Filler gets to claiming a prompt - the only ones left are i.e. heavy BDSM porn and a crossover with a fandom the Filler has never heard of?

The rules state that we should indicate the category for which we'd like to write, but then the claiming is first come-first serve, so I assume that means that someone might claim the prompt from preferred category before me. What then? Is there a possibility to drop out?

So, scenario:

Say multiple people wanted to write for a nominated prompt. Only one of those people 'wins' the prompt.

What if one of the other potential writers decides they want to fill that prompt anyway? Now that it has a fill, is that nominated prompt now disqualified and the 'assigned' prompter is out of luck for this challenge?

Prompt Details: So Foggy has a LITERAL healing cock. Matt is injured and in pain after the fight with Nobu, and Foggy can make it all better (has done so before after Matt 'tripped and fell'), but their relationship is SUPER STRAINED NOW, so.

Karen/Claire, road trip

Prompt Details: I just want Karen and Claire on a road trip together, staying in cheap hotels and eating in greasy diners, maybe trying to gather information on something related to protecting hell's kitchen, carefully opening up to each other on the endless, isolated roads that make it feel like nothing they say is quite permanent, slowly getting to know each other and realizing they have more in common than they thought. Maybe one night the heat goes out in the room they're staying in, or the only vacancy left is a double bed. Just anything about these two together would be amazing please.

Bonus points for an AU where Ben is still alive and is the person Karen calls to update on their progress. Maybe she accidentally lets slip that she might be developing feelings for her partner in investigative journalism of dubious legality idk. I just really love Ben and Karen's friendship ok.

Matt/Foggy, Undercover in a high class sex club

Prompt Details:

So Matt and Foggy end up undercover in a high class sex club. For different reasons. Foggy was invited by, say, Marci -

('Why the hell are you in a sex club?'

'Marci! She brought me here, but then there was - and I didn't - whatever, I was leaving, why the fuck are you in a sex club? And dressed like that?!')

- while Matt is there as Daredevil, trying to hunt something or someone down. Only it's a sex club, right, and the sound proofing is really, really good, so he had to try and infiltrate the place.

But Matt fucks up somehow and now security is on his tail. Foggy catches sight of him running in the hall, panics, and drags Matt with him through a random door.

Only now they're stuck - they're in a room with no other windows or doors. Security runs by, but then double-backs, checking each room in the hall.

Matt's getting ready to fight, maybe trying to stuff Foggy into a corner to protect him, when Foggy comes up with another plan.

('Strip.'

'what.'

'Take off your clothes! It's a sex club, we're in a private room! Just take that thing off already before they get here!')

And with much cursing, Matt strips. Someone is shoved into a compromising position. And then building security busts through the door.

Foggy throws a fit - they were interrupted, what kind of establishment is this - and actually gets someone in charge to apologize. They even offer Foggy VIP access to the more exclusive rooms upstairs. Very close, in fact, to the rooms Daredevil needs to get to.

So Matt makes Foggy take him upstairs. They'll just bluff their way through, it'll be fine as long as they stay close, it's not like either of them have issues being all up in each other's personal space. (the opposite, really. mutual secret pining, it's the best.)

But it turns out going through these VIP rooms requires a certain level of participation. And the less they do, the more suspicious attention they draw to themselves.

Prompt Details: Angel Matt and Demon Foggy. They have an agreement where they trade info and try to keep management from messing up the Earth too much.

Prompt Details: Now, Foggy is a confident guy who is more than capable of standing up for himself or diffusing an ugly situation. But sometimes, people are just dicks. Matt deals with these people accordingly. Foggy has no clue.

Bonus if Matt uses 'oops, sorry, didn't mean to do that! i'm, you know. blind.' as an excuse at some point. Or if in school during a particularly unacceptable situation, he terrifies someone out of their bad behavior. An early taste of the devil.

Infinite bonus if this anti-tolerance for Foggy-harassment continues in some capacity post-season.

Foggy starts going to gay bars

Prompt Details: So Foggy knew he was attracted to guys (handsome wounded duck, smooth, Nelson), but he never bothered pursuing it in a serious way. Maybe there were one or two hook-ups at house parties - enough to confirm, 'why yes I do like dick' - but not enough to push him into really going after guys for relationships or even hook-ups beyond what chance provided.

Then one day, after the post-Fisk/Daredevil crazyness has settled, Foggy thinks, Fuck it. The world has already turned upside down, what does he have to lose?

Thus Foggy's adventures in going to gay bars to meet guys begin.



Bonus if the morning after his first night out/date, Matt starts acting a little weird.

Double bonus if one night a fight breaks out and Foggy’s about to get decked when someone pulls him back just in time and oh, look who decided to stalk follow him to the gay bar, how nice of you, Murdock, what the hell are you doing here. (Foggy should count his blessings. At least Matt’s not in the red leather. or maybe he is.)

TRIPLE BONUS if this leads to Matt trying to put forward the proposition that if Foggy is now giving guys a chance, maybe he could. You know. Give Matt a chance? Just one chance.

Wild West AU

Prompt Details: Hell's Kitchen is a bustling frontier town, booming with opportunity and corruption.

It's got a beleaguered deputy, a saloon run by a hard woman who sells harder liqueur, a big time rancher looking to eat up all the land in the area, a priest who keeps his own counsel.

And an outlaw known only as the Devil who stalks evil men in the night.

And now for a rogue plot: Otherwise affable Foggy Nelson, Esq. is making enemies with his insistence on upholding contracts and deeds, and that no, you can't just take the widow Cardenas' land from her, it's illegal, this is what the law is for, do we need to bring the deputy in?

Eventually a gang of bandits takes exception to Foggy's meddling. They make their displeasure known and Foggy gets in over his head very quickly.

Looks like only the Devil can save him now.

Prompt Details: I want to see our favorite avocado trio in a dom/sub au where Karen is a sub, Matt is a switch, and Foggy is a dom. Like what if when Matt wants to dom, he's into the more violent aspects of kink, but their sub can't handle it after everything Karen's been through. So on nights where Matt feels particularly dominant, he goes out to do Daredevil stuff. Or as much as Foggy loves domming Karen, nothing makes him happier than domming Karen and Matt. Or after the stress of not feeling safe in her own apartment, subbing for Matt and Foggy makes her feel so secure and loved that she often falls asleep.

Would prefer gentle domming, and I'd love to see them talking about it, but I'm pretty much open to anything with this dynamic.

Prompt Details: Dimensional travel with a twist. Foggy Nelson, District Attorney and hater of everything Matt fucking Murderdock stands for wakes up in bed with Matt Murdock in a world where they are apparently law partners, Matt has nothing to do with the Kingpin except having helped bring him down and there is no Spider-Woman. He can't tell Murdock the truth, because whatever he might seem to be, this is still Matt Murdock, professional evil bastard, and so Foggy enlists this mysterious new superhero Daredevil to help him get back to his own universe.

Bonus points for:
