enthusiasmgirl, so please direct all questions and thanks to her :DSo S2 is coming in March! And as excited as we all are, I’m sure we’re all sad that it means that older prompts on the meme might just get forgotten about. So, this challenge is designed to keep us all inspired for the next couple of months, highlight the very best prompts on the meme for newbies and people who come post-S2 and want to get in the wayback machine, and just be fun for everyone!
There are multiple ways to participate in this challenge, even if you’re only a reader or lurker!
1. NOMINATE PROMPTS AND DISCUSS NOMINATIONS
This challenge is about discovering the hidden gems, forgotten about favourites, and most talked about, inspiring ideas hidden in the 6,000+ prompts on this meme and distilling them down to the favourites, the best of the best.
We need you to nominate your favourite unfilled prompts (from Prompt Post #1 to Prompt Post #8) across the following 21 subcategories:

You must choose only one category even if it fits into multiple categories (so an AU doesn’t have to go into the AU category, or an Ableism prompt doesn’t have to go there but can be considered hurt/comfort, for example). You don’t have to be the OP of the original prompt. You can nominate as many prompts as you’d like in as many categories as you’d like.
How does your nomination rise to the top?
Well, if it’s the only one in its category, it’s the winner by default. But if it’s not, a points system will be applied as follows:
- 1 point - each brief comment seconding the nomination (+1, seconded, *camping out*, etc.)
- 2 points - each additions to the prompt (suggestions on what could happen, conversation even if it veers OT that’s related, etc.) and comments on those additions
- 3 points - each mini-fill completed on the fill under 1000 words
This applies only to the new repost thread. What does this mean? Encourage people to second your nomination! And second others nominations if you want them to win too! We want to ensure that the prompts that win are the ones that everyone is really excited to see filled.
If it gets filled, fantastic! It will be disqualified from being nominated, but everyone’s happy because someone filled it! :D

2. SIGN UP AS A WRITER OR MULTIMEDIA FILLER
We are looking for writers, fan artists, or other multimedia artisans willing to commit to participating in the challenge from February 1 - March 15th.
The sign-up deadline is January 31, 2015. To sign up, click here to indicate the name you would like to use for the challenge (which does not have to be your fandom name) and the categories you are most interested in filling for and provide your email address to the challenge mod. If you are contributing something besides writing, indicate what that is as well.
Multimedia options include:
- Fan Art
- Podfic
- Fanvid
- Fan Mix
- GIFs
- Meta
You can state that you wish to write AND provide another kind of fill if you’re willing to fill a prompt in more than one category.
On February 1st, 21 winning prompts will be announced, one in each category. The prompts will be first come-first serve, with one writer and one multimedia filler being able to claim each one here on the meme. You can choose to write more than one fill for more than one category if you want. Fillers working on the same prompt are encouraged to be collaborative.
Written fills must be a minimum of 2500 words.
The deadline for all fills is March 15, 2015.
Once the prompts are all claimed, the fillers working on them will be announced to the kink meme community and there will be an open discussion area here on that prompt so that people can encourage you as you write, including offers to beta, new ideas or thoughts, and general cheerleading.
3. GENERAL CHEERLEADING AND WORD-SPREADING!
For this challenge to be successful, we need to bring back some people who may have left the kink meme or who may not realize one of their prompts is being boosted. We need to encourage writers and other fillers not just to sign up, but also to finish their fills. We may need pinch hitters and betas and additional organizers to catalogue the prompts nominated, etc. Primarily, we just need an active group of people willing to keep this meme and this challenge interesting.
So please spread the word even if you’re not participating, here and on Tumblr and in whatever fandom space you’re in with Daredevil fandom! And encourage the great conversations and community on this meme who make it what it is! This challenge is for everyone, and so we hope you all participate and enjoy it.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-05 07:09 am (UTC)(link)- What would Sherlock would think of Matt? On the one hand, he pays attention, using what senses he has. On the other, it's not like he's actually all that great at deduction. And he focuses on all the stuff that Sherlock thinks is a waste of time... (Such as micromanaging ten blocks in Midtown Manhattan.)
- Both John and Sherlock would notice any fading bruises and cuts on Matt. John may assume an accident or abusive partner. Sherlock sees that none of the visible marks or scars look more than a year or two old and that they're at different stages of healing. (So not an accident. Obviously.)
He also notes the knuckles and excellent physique and the sure sense of balance. Murdock may fumble around like he's a harsh wind away from tipping over, but it's clear that his center of gravity never actually changes.
Murdock is cordial but distant, like his mind is somewhere else if he's not talking directly to you. He never seems surprised about anything in his surroundings. Loud bangs, someone walking in the door, the reactions are stidied and calculated. Sometimes he'll twitch at random moments or grit his teeth or start to smirk at nothing. The sheer amount of microexpressions Murdock cycles through in a day are fascinating. (Granted, most of them are variations on 'anger', 'fondness', 'sadness' and 'frustration', but still - fascinating.)
And he always knows where his law partner is. Always. Sherlock thinks Murdock might not even be aware of how much his body language gives him away in this. A tilted head, slightly angled shoulders...frankly, these tell Sherlock a lot more than just about Murdock's awareness of the room, but that's the least interesting part of this puzzle.
And don't even get Sherlock started on the fidgeting. Murdock has a surprisingly long list of tells.
The only logical conclusion - Matthew Murdock is playing at being a blind man. He's good at it, certainly, but it's still an act.
(Are the partner and secretary aware? The secretary, no, and the obvious crush is boring but whatever it is she's hiding from her employers looks to be anything but.)
(The partner? Yes. And that's even more interesting. Because their aquantainship has lasted years, but Nelson's reactions still look raw. A recent revelation of what was most certainly a years long deception? And he still stayed? What kept him next to Murdock? Attraction only goes so far.)
And then John says, "Dear God, are you getting distracted by the lawyers now? Does New York really bore you that much?"
- John teases Sherlock about being interested in the lawyers, but Sherlock knows that he's been going off looking for news on his silly caped crusaders, so he doesn't exactly have a leg to stand on. He's been especially interested in the one called Daredevil since he was saved from a mugging by him on his first day in the city (he hadn't told Sherlock that, but he's fairly certain that it was only because John has figured out by now that he would have known before he told him). When Sherlock eventually figures out that Murdock is Daredevil, his interest wanes--mystery solved--but John's increases exponentially.
- Also, I'd like to see what Matt is able to figure out about Sherlock. What does his heartbeat give away? I'm envisioning Matt and Sherlock almost in an observation and detection competition with one another, with Sherlock being frustrated that's Matt's on par with him despite being one sense down.
- I'd imagine the scent of body parts and morgues would concern Matt a bit. Traces of gunpowder on his cuffs. And the excitement in his heartbeat when he hears of a grisly murder...
- "The building was on fire and your first impulse was to act like the Good Samaritan, making sure the other occupants reached the door. And yet this concern for your fellow man appears not to have extended to your allegedly blind business partner. Either you had plans to bring Nelson and Murdock to your sole ownership through a happy case of arson, or you knew Murdock did not need the assistance at all."
- I'm not going to lie, I totally saw Sherlock opening a door into Matt's face and it connecting because even Matt can't sense everything. Then being shocked when Matt not only falls but reaches out for his glasses with one hand and holding his nose with the other. He would note the unfocused stare and complete confusion on his face. Of course Foggy would be there, and Foggy fierce. John would be mortified and help because he's a doctor.
- I'm pretty sure Sherlock would *suspect* Matt isn't blind fairly soon. Yeah, Matt's good at pretending to be normal, but he's never had to deal with anyone like Sherlock. What do you think Sherlock would do to check? Like, hopefully trying to hit Matt with a door wouldn't be his first resort...?^^° Would he maybe hope to somehow get Matt without his shades so he can check for pupil dilation in accordance with light levels? Would he maybe...try to flirt to get close? (Cue both Foggy and John being *not* impressed....) And remembering how he was with Vanessa, Matt would probably show some teeth in a (still charming) shark's smile and start to flirt back. Everyone is horrified at the trainwreck occurring in front of their eyes.
-I mainly want to see Sherlock and Matt continously calling each other out on lies, and becoming increasingly agitated, because how on EARTH can the other TELL????
