So S2 is coming in March! And as excited as we all are, I’m sure we’re all sad that it means that older prompts on the meme might just get forgotten about. So, this challenge is designed to keep us all inspired for the next couple of months, highlight the very best prompts on the meme for newbies and people who come post-S2 and want to get in the wayback machine, and just be fun for everyone!

There are multiple ways to participate in this challenge, even if you’re only a reader or lurker!

1. NOMINATE PROMPTS AND DISCUSS NOMINATIONS

This challenge is about discovering the hidden gems, forgotten about favourites, and most talked about, inspiring ideas hidden in the 6,000+ prompts on this meme and distilling them down to the favourites, the best of the best.

You must choose only one category even if it fits into multiple categories (so an AU doesn’t have to go into the AU category, or an Ableism prompt doesn’t have to go there but can be considered hurt/comfort, for example). You don’t have to be the OP of the original prompt. You can nominate as many prompts as you’d like in as many categories as you’d like.

How does your nomination rise to the top?

Well, if it’s the only one in its category, it’s the winner by default. But if it’s not, a points system will be applied as follows:

1 point - each brief comment seconding the nomination (+1, seconded, *camping out*, etc.)
2 points - each additions to the prompt (suggestions on what could happen, conversation even if it veers OT that’s related, etc.) and comments on those additions
3 points - each mini-fill completed on the fill under 1000 words

This applies only to the new repost thread. What does this mean? Encourage people to second your nomination! And second others nominations if you want them to win too! We want to ensure that the prompts that win are the ones that everyone is really excited to see filled.

If it gets filled, fantastic! It will be disqualified from being nominated, but everyone’s happy because someone filled it! :D

2. SIGN UP AS A WRITER OR MULTIMEDIA FILLER

We are looking for writers, fan artists, or other multimedia artisans willing to commit to participating in the challenge from February 1 - March 15th.

The sign-up deadline is January 31, 2015. To sign up, click here to indicate the name you would like to use for the challenge (which does not have to be your fandom name) and the categories you are most interested in filling for and provide your email address to the challenge mod. If you are contributing something besides writing, indicate what that is as well.

Don’t take the list above as limiting. Any other suggested creative contribution (in case there’s someone out there who crochets or does flash animations or something) would also be welcomed.

You can state that you wish to write AND provide another kind of fill if you’re willing to fill a prompt in more than one category.

On February 1st, 21 winning prompts will be announced, one in each category. The prompts will be first come-first serve, with one writer and one multimedia filler being able to claim each one here on the meme. You can choose to write more than one fill for more than one category if you want. Fillers working on the same prompt are encouraged to be collaborative.

Written fills must be a minimum of 2500 words.
The deadline for all fills is March 15, 2015.

Once the prompts are all claimed, the fillers working on them will be announced to the kink meme community and there will be an open discussion area here on that prompt so that people can encourage you as you write, including offers to beta, new ideas or thoughts, and general cheerleading.

3. GENERAL CHEERLEADING AND WORD-SPREADING!

For this challenge to be successful, we need to bring back some people who may have left the kink meme or who may not realize one of their prompts is being boosted. We need to encourage writers and other fillers not just to sign up, but also to finish their fills. We may need pinch hitters and betas and additional organizers to catalogue the prompts nominated, etc. Primarily, we just need an active group of people willing to keep this meme and this challenge interesting.

So please spread the word even if you’re not participating, here and on Tumblr and in whatever fandom space you’re in with Daredevil fandom! And encourage the great conversations and community on this meme who make it what it is! This challenge is for everyone, and so we hope you all participate and enjoy it.

Prompt Details: I have a silly idea in my head and I’m going to share it.

So Peter Quill ends up back on Earth for Unimportant To The Plot reasons. Somehow or another, Nelson Murdock get caught up in the shenanigans (”Starlord? Oh God, I’m sorry, Matt, I’ll never make fun of the horns again.”). Just before Quill’s about to leave, though, Matt and Foggy accidentally touch something in Quill’s spaceship.

It’s an alien sex toy.

It targets Matt and Foggy, goes bzzzzt, and ‘links’ them together like a freaky non-physical Chinese finger trap. They then find out that not only is it a sex toy, but it’s a psychic alien sex toy made for a race that puts a lot of emphasis on foreplay. Touching. Kissing.

Quill explains that he can’t remove it (“it’s calibrated to your brainwaves or something, there’s nothing to remove, jeez”) then fucks back off to space with an unhelpful, “Don’t worry, just hit the sack a few times, it’ll turn off by itself eventually!”

So maybe a couple of days pass and it seems like the alien sex toy isn’t actually doing anything. No weird urges, no compulsions to pull their best friend into a closet and do dirty things to them, nothing. (Well. Nothing more than usual. If those urges were already present then no one needs to know that, nope.) Foggy maybe starts complaining about a headache that’s been building for a while, but that’s not all that weird.

And then Foggy finds Matt curled up in a pain-wracked ball. The alien sex toy is working, but it’s affecting Matt more than Foggy. Matt tried to meditate the migraine/pain away, but the pressure just kept building. And now Foggy is stuck there staring at Matt, watching him get worse. Foggy wants Matt to stop hurting.

Foggy kisses Matt. And the pressure eases.

And now the boys have a dilemma.

How do you hide your non-platonic feelings for your best friend when you are forced to make out with him on the regular?

+ if it’s not just kissing that makes the discomfort/pain go away, but touching in general. Even just guiding can keep it at bay for a while, so could holding hands. But kissing is a sure bet and it’s effects last the longest.

++ for stolen kisses in the office and pining and both of them restraining themselves from climbing all over each other because this is just supposed to be, like, a dose of Advil. Touch therapy. Not a 'you're the-love-of-my-life-please-kiss-me-again' thing, not at all.

+++ if they both silently figure out that if cuddling and kissing make the effects of the device go away, then full on sex might be able to remove it even faster. But they think, that’s not what this is. That’s not what the other person signed up for. So neither of them bring it up.

Tl;dr - imagine these dorks pining for each other while making out. that’s it, that’s the prompt.

They could hang out in the evening, sitting shoulder to shoulder, then split-up to go to their respective apartments for sleeping/vigilante-ing.

Only by the morning it’s been like, 10-12 hours since they’ve touched each other and the headache/discomfort has started to build up again. So they start the morning with a kiss. It diffuses the pressure and they can get on with their day. Totally professional.

All day court sessions? Well, maybe Matt finds them a deserted hallway and they make-out a bit. Just a little bit.

Here’s a twist - Foggy needs to leave town for a long weekend. They don’t talk about it, but before he leaves, Foggy stops by Matt’s place because they need to build up a resistance for the time spent apart. Cue awkward dancing around each other that melts into hot kissing on the couch.

And then by the time Foggy gets back, they gotta do it all over again.

This reminds me of a great line from a fic that went something like, "If that means I have to cuddle you, then by God, I will cuddle you for great justice."

Then one day, after they've spent ages touching each other skin to skin whenever they could manage it, kissing each other only once a day, right when they're on the verge of crossing a line - Foggy gets a call from Marci.

He's got a very good guess as to why she's calling and knows what usually comes from it. As Foggy answers, he hears the typing in Matt's office stop.

Foggy's still talking to Marci but just as she's proposing a meet-up, he catches sight of Matt entering his doorway. He quietly leans against it, taking off his glasses. He doesn't say anything. Foggy can't quite figure out Matt's expression, but it's enough to make his heart thump and his throat go dry.

In the dead air, Marci calls Foggy's name. He clears his throat. Sorry, Marce. I, uh. I already had plans for tonight.

Your loss, Foggy Bear, she says then hangs up.

Foggy's left staring at Matt. Cheeks stained a little red, Matt backs up a pace, inviting Foggy to follow. Ready to head home? he asks.

Foggy follows him out the door, feeling Matt's hand on the inside of his elbow like a brand.
