matt vs 4th of july fireworks

i'm not even american but i got to wondering. how does matt cope with fireworks? what's it like for him on fourth of july? does he spend the night huddled up in a corner, flinching every time one goes off? does he invite foggy over to help distract him? is he too embarrassed too invite foggy but foggy (now that he knows about matt's senses) figures 4th must be hell for matt and invites himself anyway? does matt try to escape the noise? does he meditate through it?

there are so many options, i just figure a night full of explosions can't be fun for a guy with super-enhanced-cotton-feels-like-sandpaper senses. i'd just love to read something based on how you think matt might deal with the fourth of july.

Matt hears Foggy at karaoke before he meets him officially on their first year at collage, he falls for the voice of the guy singing Donna Summer "Hot Stuff".
Foggy was doing this great rendition with a modern rock/pop style (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFMT_sNsEYo) not giving a damn about everybody and singing to the hot guy in red glasses that just came in (not that the guy ever noticed him)
Gimme Matt playing different songs on his ipod just to hear Foggy singing along, Gimme Matt going to karaoke nights with Foggy and singing with him.
Gimme a Matt reliefs after the whole reveal disaster that everything was going to be alright when Foggy ask him and Karen for a karoke night.

Gen or slash - Matt's temper

Foggy used to have an abusive boyfriend/girlfriend. It started off with little things, losing their temper, being secretive and getting angry when Foggy brought it up, and ended with at least one instance of physical violence. And it's years ago now, and Foggy got out of it. He doesn't even really think about it.

One day, Matt does something (loses his temper, punches a wall, gets mad at Foggy for bothering him about the Daredevil thing) and suddenly Foggy's right back where he was when he was younger. Scared of someone he thought wouldn't hurt him, that he could trust not to hurt him (even though he knows Matt would never touch him, he can't convince his brain of that).

Matt is horrified, not only to learn that this happened in the first place (he didn't know, OR for more angst, it happened while they were at college and Matt beats himself up because how could he have missed something like that) but also that his actions have made Foggy frightened of him

Inspired by this line from that kickass Pacific Rim fill:

Something with this. It doesn't have to be other superheroes underestimating Foggy, it can be anyone. I feel even in-show people assume things about Foggy (even us as an audience - part of why Foggy's verbal beatdown of Marci is such a 'dammmn you go son' moment is because it's not something we've been lead to expect).

+ Matt always gets a little pissy when people assume things about Foggy because 'of course he can do x he's Foggy"

Matt/Foggy: one last day

Matt thinks he is going to die for some reason (probably some self-sacrificing suicide mission or something like that) and decides to spend (what he thinks is) his last day alive with his best friend.
They have a good time and at one point just end up in Matt's or Foggy's apartment, talking, and Matt, who has been in love with Foggy for-fucking-ever, kisses him because he can't stand the idea of dying without ever having the chance.
Foggy is really happy at first, but quickly figures out that something is wrong with Matt. (Maybe he confessed to Matt a while back, but Matt turned him down out of fear of hurting/losing Foggy?)

All the delicious angst, please! Ending can be happy/sad/bittersweet/whatever you like.

Matt and Foggy do couples Come Dine With Me

Does the US have a version of Come Dine With Me? It's a popular UK show where five people host a dinner party each night and the one voted best gets a cash prize.

Matt and Foggy for some reason (Karen may or may not have applied in their names secretly) go on the couples version. Disaster and snarking ensues.

BONUS - Matt might be able to tell when something is cooked to Michelin star perfection but he still can't tell if the food's a weird colour. Cue blue soup a la Bridget Jones.
- Foggy definitely didn't sign up for this, and oh god the only thing he's ever tried to make was cheese on toast help matt help
- At least one other couple is a mobster/super villain combo and Matt spends four nights trying not to break his fork in half and go daredevil on them.

So I've just been binge-watching the new season of Orange Is The New Black, and at some point Luschek says, "I will fucking kill you... with murder."

What I'd love to read is something Daredevilly that uses that quote. Doesn't matter who says it, or what the situation is (although it kinda sounds a lot like a Foggy line). Run with it.

Living Will, Matt/anyone or gen

Matt's a lawyer with no family and an incredibly dangerous job. With that in mind, I love to read a fic where he draws up a living will.

Does he do it in college? Before the fight with Nobu or after? Does he tell Foggy (can you imagine that conversation?) Or maybe he doesn't tell Foggy and he only finds out after Matt's been hospitalised for something.

Although part of me thinks that Matt will have just buried his head in the sand and not thought about it, so maybe a fic where someone else suggests he makes one?

There's so many options, I don't mind where someone goes with this, I just think it could be very interesting and angsty to explore.

so for some reason or another, Matt finds himself teaming up with, say, Spider-Man. all well and good, at least up until he figures out Spider-Man's like seventeen, and he ends up probably lecturing the poor guy for being a CHILD and SWINGING AROUND IN A COSTUME and then makes him, idk, some kind of comfort food since he's injured and Matt's first instinct when confronted with kids boils down to something like keep them safe and comfortable and also safe

and then it spreads. and suddenly Matt's the unofficial vigilante big brother to any teenaged superhero in and around New York.

Matt would like them all to stop following him now, please.

BONUS FOR:
+ Kamala Khan you guys. or Kate Bishop. or America Chavez. or, seriously, Inwill love you if you can somehow squeeze as many baby superheroes as you can, they don't even have to make sense, I would kill for Spider-Gwen okay.

Nelson vs Murdock, the Civil War version

Civil War is coming to the MCU, and we already know Foggy doesn't agree with Matt's secret identity, we know he wants Matt to be more transparent about his skills, and we know he wants Matt to be held accountable for his deeds. The guys love each other, but they're on opposite sides of the fence on this issue.

I will be absolutely heartbroken if the series actually goes in this direction, but anything is possible right now, so I'd like someone to please prepare my soul and write a story where Foggy sides with Tony Stark over superhero registration and Matt sides, of course, with Steve Rogers. How do they argue about it? Does this break their partnership in ways the reveal couldn't? What would it take for Foggy to support Matt eventually? Matt's imprisonment by Tony Stark? Matt treated inhumanely like some overpowered superhero while incarcerated? Does Tony's methods finally turn Foggy away from the cause? Please, author anon, break my heart as much as possible so I'll be ready in case the show really does this to them later. ♥

I like to imagine that Matt started out being all 'I'll just get a crucifix, nothing too fancy' and then he got hooked (and it definitely helped that the tattoo artist was literally the nicest guy and he really wanted to have a chance to talk to him again), and now he's pretty much looking like the Ghent alterpiece these days (ooh, with maybe a simplified version of Guido Reni's Archangel Michael' on his leg or something)

Karen sees herself as Death- Fruit withering on the vine as she approaches and such. Her (misplaced) guilt over Ben and Wesley still haunts her. She has nightmares of another attack in her dark apartment, a noose suddenly wrapping itself around her neck, of the reaper peering over her shoulder and picking out new victims from her friends

We've had some awesome trans!Foggy prompts, but I really want badass trans woman Karen Page.

The main reason Karen doesn't like talking about her past is she's not comfortable with people knowing she's trans. Passing is important to her, and it's one of the reasons she left her old home and moved to the city. But then, for [REASON OF ANON'S CHOICE], she comes out to Matt and Foggy about being trans. (Possibly someone from her past shows up in nyc?) Of course, the boys take it in stride, to Karen's relief and joy.

My soul if this is a Karen/Matt/Foggy fic, but any pairing or gen is fine.

Social worker AU

What if instead of becoming a lawyer, Matt decided to become a social worker to help other kids like him.
And Foggy is still a lawyer, but now he's working as a children's advocate for the kids Matt tries to help. And Claire is the nurse that's responsible for doing the medical checkups and stuff. And Karen is the awesome secretary who keeps everything running. (or maybe she's a kid they're trying to help)

And Matt is still Daredevil, because doesn't that initial trigger incident, with the guy abusing his daughter, and social services not being able to do anything, sound like it would have even more of an effect on socialworkerMatt.

And maybe Fisk is a politician trying to cut funding to social services in order to give tax breaks to the rich, or he's still a criminal and he's invlved in human trafficking and Matt has to deal with the kids rescued from him, or if you want things to be more fuzzy and fixit, he's still a kid in this one and Matt and Foggy are able to rescue him before he kills his father, and he gets therapy, and makes new friends called Wesley and Vanessa at school and they all live happily ever after.

And Matt does his best but social services are majorly underfunded, and its really hard to get people to come forward in abuse cases, and so Matt ha a lot of anger that he has to keep bottled up at work for fear of scaring the kids, and so he's even more brutal when he goes out at night. (cause I personally reckon that in canon Matt is able to cool off some of the rage by taking people apart in court.)

AU If Stick Had Never Left

So I've seen a lot of Stick the Dick prompts, but I don't think I've seen this one, and it's beautiful to me in it's simplicity.

What if Stick hadn't left? That's it. Just think about it. For whatever reason, the bracelet doesn't scare Stick off. Who would Matt be if Stick had continued to train him?

Maybe it goes in the direction of Stick becoming softened by his decision to stay and being increasingly protective of Matt and actually being changed by him? (That's an angle you don't normally see). Or maybe you just straight up go with the more standard route and it's a darkfic or angstfic about Stick eventually beating the softness out of Matt and him being a soldier in Stick's war.

I don't care about the specifics of how this gets filled, I just think it would make for a fantastically interesting AU exploring their relationship.

Woahhhh I like this idea. I can think of a really great dark fic. Like, Stick is still an abusive asshole but he actually does get softened up by Matt and Matt becomes his ward, a kid that he protects and who is...something to him, though not anything like his son, but they still kill people and Matt gets more and more brutal and mentally unstable because his morality keeps taking hits and twisting into something even more confused every day. (Matt with scrupulosity and something on the psychotic spectrum???) Not to mention the fact that Matt, without life after Stick, never learns any kind of social skills.

And eventually he meets Karen FIRST because Karen, idk, has decided to take up vigilantism/is a young criminal/something and he and Karen eventually save Foggy from something and that's how the friendship is formed and Foggy's friends with these completely broken people and he HATES Stick but Matt is incredibly protective of and attached to Stick.

And Stick dies at some point and it absolutely destroys Matt (who is...idk, twenty something?) because at this point in time he has nobody to help him with day to day life (because I can see this version of Matt not being able to function without some kind of aide, and Stick sort of acted as that to him, even if it was an asshole abusive version) and so Foggy, who's a young lawyer making a fair amount of money at Landman and Zack at this point, takes him in (along with Karen, who he's probably already taken in honestly) and tries to help, but it's DIFFERENT this time because Stick genuinely cared about Matt and yes, it obviously still doesn't take away the fact that Stick was so fucking abusive but it changes things, like Matt isn't ever really able to admit that he was a dick so quickly.

And the thing is that in this world Matt's fucking deadly and not afraid to kill people but he's so unstable that he can't really be Daredevil like our Matt is, so the closest thing he ever gets to Daredevil ends up being basically a serial killer who hits when Matt finally breaks down at the sound of all of the pain outside and brutally but efficiently murders a guy who's assaulting someone or something. Karen helps him clean up after, and hides the bodies.

Danny the Dog/Unleashed AU

For those of you unfamiliar with this movie, its about a man name named Danny whoses been brainwashed from a young age to act as an attack dog for a vicious crimelord, but get rescued and humanized by an old blind man and his granddaughter.

Basicly, gimme Matt as Danny, Fisk as his "owner"' and any combination of Claire/Foggy/Karen/Ben as the ones who rescue him and teach him how to human.

All of the characters from Daredevil are part-animal. Which characteristics? Which weaknesses? Which animals? Up to you! If you need any ideas...

Ninja kitty Matt who has big black cat ears, who purrs when he's feeling sick, and hates water?
Bear Foggy who is incredibly sleepy in the winter, has a hell of a punch, and is incredibly protective of his loved ones?
Gazelle Karen who loves wheatgrass smoothies, has horns, and runs 10 miles a day?
Snake Wesley who has scales, venomous fangs, and needs to sunbathe for an hour before he can start moving for the day?

Gen: Foggy is a demon

Foggy discovers he's a demon. His mom and dad kept it from him because they wanted him to 'fit in with the humans'. It worked very well and they're kind of disappointed he isn't even slightly evil. They're not the 'death and abuse' kinds of demons but Foggy could curse people to say...lose their socks or the like in the wash.

Foggy is true to his word and tells Matt. Matt is confused. then wonders if he's descended from a demon.

(The answer is yes/no, he and Foggy are BFFS because they're BFFs)
