ANOTHER REPLY MINIFILL

(Anonymous) 2015-07-06 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
"I just feel kinda bad about it," Billy muttered around a celery stalk. "We really monopolize him, you know? He has better things to do than take care of us."

"He's not taking care of us, Billy, god you're so stupid," Tommy replied, not even looking up from where he lay face-down on Matt's hardwood floor, trigonometry homework spread out in front of him. "Murdock's, like, chaperoning us. He's making sure you and Teddy don't try to bone in his bed or something, Christ."

"Ew!" Kamala hit him with a textbook. "Don't say stuff like that, Teddy wouldn't do something that rude, he's a guest!"

"Hey, what about me!"

"You're in the isolation booth Billy!"

America ignored all of them, as was her wont. "Billy, if it bothers you that much then write him a thank you note or something. Print it in Braille even, Matt would be thrilled."

"Yeah, yeah, I know." Billy swallowed the rest of the celery and peered over the coffee table at Matt, who was reading a book on top of the kitchen counter, fingers flying over the pages and pretending he couldn't hear them. "I still want to do something for him."

"Like what?"

Matt straightened suddenly. A smile crept over his face and he headed for the door. Suddenly the limp in his right leg became a lot less visible as he minimized the pulled muscle. Billy knew before the knock came that Foggy was on the other side; Matt only looked like that when his partner came to visit.

"I've got a couple ideas," Billy said. "Let's talk about it later."

:D Awww, cute from start to finish!

YET ANOTHER

(Anonymous) 2015-07-06 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
The next kid who shows up in Matt's apartment nearly kills him.

"Murderdock!" The shriek comes from somewhere -- and Matt realizes, too late, it's his ceiling.

Spider-Woman -- a hooded figure in black and white -- manages to floor Matt with a knee on his throat before he rolls her over and rips her mask off, panting.

"What the hell did you just call me." He demands, and of course he can't make out her face other than knowing her hair is chin length, and her voice sounds suspiciously like--

"Gwen Stacy?"

"Yeah, that's the name, don't wear it out. Pal," Gwen spits, all contempt and fury.

"You. You're supposed to be dead," Matt whispers, sliding off of her. "How the hell are you here? And why were you dangling from my ceiling?"

"I get the feeling a lot of people should be under headstones that aren't. Where I come from, I'm alive and kicking, and you're one of the Kingpin's cronies. Which is why I came looking for you. To settle a debt."

Matt can't contain the resulting guffaw. "Me? A Kingpin henchman? Well, it's about as likely as a living Gwen Stacy, isn't it?"

And with that he pulls her up. And offers to order pizza, encourages her to kick back for a while and catch him up on her universe.

They've got a lot to discuss, apparently.

may your chooks turn into emus and kick your dunny down.

Put it all together and it kinda rhymes.

It's a minor mistake, relax, we don't care. Your minifill was great, throw your hands in the air.

Now I'll be off on a rhyming kick for the next hour or so. Thanks brain.

OP here to say: that was brilliant okay I love you man I don't even care about the mistake I'm just happy somebody had Spider-Gwen meet Matt AAAAA

FOLLOWS UP WITH ANOTHER

(Anonymous) 2015-07-06 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
After Peter's finished sobbing on Gwen--a moment for which Matt had excused himself from the room and dragged a gawking Silk along with him--Peter says, "Also, uh. Oh, man. No matter what anyone says, Baby Superhero Club was not my fault."

"Baby what now?" asks Gwen. She's a bit sniffly too, but so sue her, this Peter is the closest she's ever found who's close to her age, who's close to how old her Peter was when he--to be old her Peter had been.

"Oh, wow, hi," says someone else, and Gwen looks out the window to find a young girl, with a stylized lightning bolt emblazoned on her front and a red scarf fluttering in the wind. "Welcome to Baby Superhero Club, new girl! Normally I'd direct you to Matt's apartment, he makes the best sandwiches, but. We're already here, so."

Gwen chokes back a laugh, because Matt Murdock, making sandwiches for a kid, ordering pizza for a girl who attacked him, taking down the Kingpin and fighting for the little guy. Had she not gone universe-hopping before, she'd find it all so hard to take in. "He got me a pizza," she says.

"Pizza!" the girl cheers. "Hey, uh, I almost forgot--"

"Oh, yeah," says Peter, scrambling off the couch. "Kamala Khan, this is Gwen Stacy. Of another universe, apparently, where she's Spider-Woman. Gwen, this is Kamala, she's Ms. Marvel."

"Wait, Gwen Stacy?" Kamala asks. "Holy--oh, man, Kate is not going to believe this."

YET ANOTHER less related to Spider-Gwen but yeah

(Anonymous) 2015-07-06 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Peter doesn't really regain consciousness, per se. It's more like he swims back to a slightly more conscious state, through the muddy haze of--well, he's got no idea. Also, his hands are tied. Which is just great.

For a second he worries that someone's found out who he is, worries that Aunt May will get drawn into this, but then he hears a few voices drifting in:

"--Parker's one of his kids, y'know, buncha kids show up to Murdock's place every other day or so, for some reason."

"Think he's gonna drop the client? I mean, we just got one kid, maybe we ought to get the rest."

Oh. He's leverage. He's not sure whether to be relieved or offended by that.

He doesn't have the time to, because the alarm suddenly starts blaring, and Peter hears the sound of cursing, the meaty sounds of a fight and bodies dropping, the sickening noises of bones being broken.

A few minutes later, Matt--not Matt, Daredevil kicks the door down, with Silk right behind him.

Yes hello I will take 5000 more just like this please

how does one more sound (or. two in one sort of maybe a fill)

(Anonymous) 2015-07-11 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
People are curious about Daredevil's secret identity. That much, Kate's figured out for herself--there's a page on BuzzFeed dedicated to puzzling out just who might be the man beneath the mask, and whenever she's bored she pulls it up and has a laugh, asks Matt if he's Cary Elwes or Gwendoline Christie if he's there with her.

Apparently, "people" includes "the Avengers".

"So," Tony begins, after a highly exhaustive clean-up of a HYDRA splinter cell near some podunk town in the Midwest, "you know Daredevil, right?"

"I've teamed up with him a few times, sure," says Kate, pulling arrows out of corpses. "Why?"

"Just wondering," says Tony, "do you know that BuzzFeed article on him, does he look like Inigo Montoya or--"

"How would I know?" Kate huffs. "He's never taken his mask off in front of me, he's a pretty secretive guy. Anyway, isn't that the point of a mask?"

"What, not even once?"

Kate should probably feel worse about lying to an Avenger, but Tony's got some views on the superhero laws that she's been hearing rumors about that spells Trouble. Matt's got enough of that on his plate already. "Nope," says Kate. "Never."

--

"So that was a great time, thanks, Miss Not-So-Teenage Witch," Spider-Man's saying--Wanda doesn't usually let loose on a street setting, but there'd been some thugs coming after a young girl and Wanda had been in the vicinity, as was Spider-Man, it seems--and now Spider-Man's spinning a silk cocoon around the thugs, dangling them upside-down from a fire escape. The girl is long gone, having profusely thanked Wanda before running off.

Wanda glances up at Spider-Man. He's a teenager, that's obvious enough from what she can read off him--he thinks of schoolwork, of grades, of going back to his home and sleeping peacefully until the night comes. Except--

"You're far from home," she says.

Spider-Man waves a hand. "Yeah, well, I got a standing appointment with a good buddy of mine," he says, and a hooded figure in black and white--a girl, near his age--flashes, and along with it an old grief that Wanda knows, mixed with a joy that she has not known for a long time. "And 'sides, Hell's Kitchen has some of the best sandwiches around."

"I'll take your word for that," she says, dryly, before her curiosity rears up--if this is Hell's Kitchen, then: "Have you run into the Daredevil, by any chance?"

A warm couch. Grilled cheese sandwiches. Someone narrating Firefly. The sound of bones breaking and a door falling, the sound of rescue coming at last.

"Once or twice, sure," says Spider-Man, and Wanda knows at once that he's lying through his teeth--he knows Daredevil, knows who he is, wants to keep his secret safe. "He's a pretty tough nut to crack, but he's a good guy. Why, there room on the Avengers?"

"I was just curious," she says. "I've heard rumors."

"You and everybody else in the Kitchen," Spider-Man chuckles. "Gotta go, got somebody I'd hate to stand up, see you 'round, Miss Witch!"

ty, I like to think that it goes both ways: fuck with one and the other will come to fuck you up, for starters, but also Matt's made it clear to the kids that if they're in legal trouble of any sort they can give him a call

Awww <3

(Also, I love Wanda connecting Peter's grief and joy for Gwen with her own grief for Pietro. That's a really nice character note.)

aww, thanks

(and thank you for that too! AOU didn't really. do much for her, especially since I doubt Wanda would've been okay with joining up with the Avengers so soon after her brother's death, and I wanted to show that loss even just a little bit, because. well. he was her brother)

Wait, so who are MCU Tommy and Billy supposed to be? MCU Wanda is barely out of her teens.
