Foggy secretly redecorated Matt's apartment. Matt knows something's going on, because there's paint fumes and other new smells and textures, but has no idea what's actually happening.

au where matt is still daredevil and fighting bad guys, while foggy is dating one of them. you can pick someone from the show, i don't really care. all i want is for matt and foggy to meet somehow and develop feelings for each other.

it would be great if foggy is staying with the villain for the greater good. maybe the guy promised him to protect his family and help the people in hell's kitchen. it would be even greater if foggy is staying with the villain because he threatened to kill his former best friend matt otherwise.

foggy basically lives in a golden cage. his boyfriend's too possessive to ever let him out alone anymore and he'd kill anyone who touched him. matt still breaks in whenever the baddie is distracted to spend time with foggy and get him to leave.

i'd prefer if foggy didn't know about matt being daredevil at first, but i'm not picky on that part. mostly i want angst, sexual tension and hurried makeouts and fucks with the boyfriend just a couple of rooms away.

Post season 1, Matt & Foggy get drunk and somehow end up having sex at Foggy's apartment. The next morning Matt wakes up & realizes Foggy has silk sheets, and had probably been hoping that one day he could get Matt into his bed. Knowing he can't offer the kind of commitment Foggy obviously wants, because, yeah, he's Daredevil, Matt nopes out of the situation before Foggy wakes up.

When Matt mentions this to Foggy he is like, "What? I can't have nice sheets too?" Except Foggy is totally lying. He did buy them because he hoped Matt would be in his bed one day.

Matt knows he is lying. Foggy knows Matt knows he is lying.

Like they idiots they are, they try to carry on as if nothing happened, until the day they can't.

So, in the show, we see Matt's apartment. We see Claire's, we see Karen's, we see Fisk's, we even see Marci's ... but we don't see Foggy's.

Tell me where he lives, meme. He's not a well-to-do guy, couldn't afford an apartment like Matt's for sure. Does he have three other young professional roommates? Is he sleeping at the office? Is he living at home with his parents? (In which case, what do his parents think of what happens when Foggy and Matt have their big fight?)

Make it angsty, make it cracky, make it gen or with whatever ship you like, but I would love to see where Foggy hangs out in the evenings.

Someone wrote this mix-up (but before the Netflix show) over on AO3, and while it got off to a VERY promising start, its potential wasn't realized and it just sort of stopped.

I'm pretty happy with whatever pairings or none. I just need all of my favorite, lovely, Irish Hell's Kitchen boys in the same place.

So, here Foggy comes across his bloodied, naked (or mostly naked), blind best friend in his trashed apartment, after clearly having been attacked and damn near killed.

Now, I've never been to law school. But I assume it must be, at times, stressful as fuck, because I have been to regular school, and it was stressful as fuck.

Can we have Foggy at some point completely freaking out and breaking down over a big test that's coming up, an important paper he can't seem to hammer into shape, a course he just can't get his grade up in? Something else? All of the above? And Matt is there to calm him down and comfort him and tell him he'll get it, he will, just take a break, grades don't determine his worth as a person, etc? ("If I drop out of law school and become a butcher will you be my cool attorney friend who defends me from the health department" "absolutely")

(I love Matt angst but I'm a terrible person and damn it, Foggy's also pretty when he cries. ;_;)

So, Matt can take as many hits as you can dish out and keep on kicking.

It's the good things that he can't experience without having a strong reaction, because they're so rare in his life.

So, let's say there's a new villain in town, who incapacitates people by targeting the pleasure centers of a person's brain, to the point where the target feels caught in one long, continuous orgasm, and Matt is just down for the count, because he has literally no defense against that.

How does he get out of this one? Does someone (Karen, Foggy, Claire, Steve, Bucky - I don't know!) come and save him?

Vladimir is a foreign exchange student who has to leave at the end of the school year, so Matt gives him a private farewell gift

Please forgive my trashness and bear with me a sec. Today for some reason (like seriously I have no clue what prompted the tought) I imagined Foggy as a centaur and I bet he'd look so friggin cute and aaawed. Then I started playing with an actual scenario and gave myself feels.

So what if he lives in a world were centaurs and other creatures lives more or less peacefully with humanity, but not-human living beings doesn't usually live in big cities like NY. Maybe they preferr to keep to themselves in clans and have their space where there's less concrete and more green. I can imagine that centaurs especially likes to have the space to run freely. And not all humans are so accepting of non-human creatures so while they manage to co-exist rather peacefully the road is not without many bumps.
Maybe Foggy's family has always lived between humans and they don't want to change that despite how hard it can get. Foggy may still have grown up in Hell's Kitchen, learning to be patient and understanding and grown up to be his amazing, smart lovable self, only on four legs.
Then he goes to college and him and Matt become best buddies (and they can share the pain of having people asking them stupid questions all the time. I have this scene of Foggy casually saying that he gets people asking him if they can get a ride all the time and Matt getting SO MAD on his behalf that Foggy gets scared Matt might snap someone's neck right there stuck in my mind.).
How's their life? What are the difficulties of living into a city like NY when you are generally bigger than the average human and on four legs?
How's their friendship? Are they still embarassingly married? (Yes plz I ship these two like there's no tomorrow)
What kinds of discriminations Foggy has to put up with? What if his career choice, his friendship choice, is frowned upon by others of his species? Is a romantic relationship with a human considered taboo?

I could on for a mile more about this, so I'll stop myself and let others in the sandpit if they want to play. (Please come play with me It'd be great!)

Don't know if this has been done already, but Matt can most likely smell menstrual blood. Cue Matt coming to work with extra Advil, water, maybe a heating pad or something sweet to eat. Karen finds it suspicious how Matt just knows sometimes, but she wouldn't change a thing.

Can be gen or fluff or whatever.

Dark!Matt/Foggy - Intense obsession, eventual stockholm syndrome

Something I haven't been able to get out of my mind since watching the show is how close Matt is/can be to being a "bad guy". I don't mean in regards to the city; I don't think he'd ever be able to not feel like he has to do something to save Hell's Kitchen... but sometimes there's something really unsettling about him. Coupled with his capacity for violence, just, wow.

So I was just thinking, what if post-'Nelson v. Murdock' Matt just kind of snaps because he's afraid that he's going to lose Foggy, and ends up kind of taking him for himself. I'm not entirely sure how this would play out, but what's happening in my head is this:

Matt is totally in love with Foggy (his relationships don't last because of this, he regrets his reaction to Foggy's "handsome" comment, he's so attuned to Foggy that he can always tell where he is, etc.), and after the huge fight is convinced that Foggy's going to leave him. Matt sees Foggy sleeping with Marci as proof of this, so he obviously can't deal, and ends up essentially kidnapping Foggy and keeping him in this secret space (*insert MCU/comics logic*) and kind of dumping all his obsessed (and kind of delusional) love on Foggy. He keeps Foggy for about a month or two, and is so extreme (visiting before/after work, loads of dub-con sex, trying to make him happy by letting him look at their cases, etc.) that even in this short amount of time, Foggy is Stockholm Syndrome-d into loving Matt. So when Matt is sure Foggy won't leave him, he allows him to be *coughcough* found, and everything appears to go back to normal. In the end, Foggy is himself as usual at work, but basically does nothing apart from go to work with Matt, and go home with Matt and live and breathe MattMattMatt 24/7, which is exactly what Matt wants. Up to you if he's happy like that or not, but if he's happy, please him question the validity of his happiness!! Even when Foggy's having issues he isn't stupid.

Essentially, I want deep, mental health intensive, super sexy and dub con-y exploration of Dark!Matt and Foggy. And yeah, I realize that I'm totally going to hell for this.

Okay there's this post a few pages ago:

Imagine an AU where Foggy didn't leave Landman & Zack, even though Matt did. Reason why? Foggy felt he was too in love with Matt, and he knew Matt wouldn't return his feelings. Maybe Matt doesn't because he's too Catholic, or just too straight. Or both. Long story short, Foggy stays at Landman & Zack, and Matt still later becomes Daredevil. Years after their separation, Foggy and Matt meet again, as Foggy and Daredevil! Basically interested in a lot of angst here people.

And all I can think of is what if Matt didn't know why Foggy stayed?
Like, Foggy thought it would hurt less if he and Matt drifted apart, and this whole time, Matt has been trying to figure out what he did to push Foggy away? [hello abandonment issues]

So a few years later, Daredevil saves Foggy from some angry muggers or mobsters or something and they start to talk.

Basically Matt's hanging around Foggy as Daredevil, seeing it as a second chance at their friendship, because as long as Foggy doesn't know it's him, he can't hate him. and Foggy's miserable at Landman and Zach, and Daredevil reminds him of Matt.

Foggy actually worries about Daredevil, he's crazy reckless, like; Foggy asking him once
"Don't you have anyone who'd miss you if you got yourself killed out there?" and Daredevil just saying
"No. Not anymore"

Eventually, though, he starts dropping clues, Foggy asks how he fights the way he does, and he tells him about how he can hear a heartbeat from across the room, and smell what Foggy'd had for dinner the night before.

One day, Daredevil, in a sidelong way, talking about best friends or roommates or something, brings himself up, as in Matt, and Foggy, oblivious, admits to Daredevil the whole story. How he was still in love with his best friend, and he thought it would be easier for both of them if they drifted apart, rather that letting Foggy's emotions make it awkward.

Matt is pissed. Foggy just assumed that he wasn't interested and he takes off his mask, stops doing his Daredevil voice and asks
"What gave you the right to decide that for me?"

Then yelling, then crying, then kissing.

What if when Matt doesn't work off all that pent up rage (dude has issues, is what I'm saying) he sleepwalks. Up to you what he does (rooftop walks, fistfights, rearranging furniture, showing up at Foggy's, "working" in the office, sex, all of the above), just remember that sleepwalkers have no rational control over their actions, but they can appear to behave quite normally

Time Travel!

Foggy and Matt somehow travel back in time mentally to after Matt was blinded, but before his dad died.

So, like 10 year old Matt/10 year old Foggy tracks the other down and troduces himself. (Probably little!Foggy, he could get to the gym easier than little!blind!Matt could sneak off to find lLittle!Foggy)
They chat for a while, both pretending to be their physical age, until one finally asks the other something like
"This may sound weird, but what do you think of the word avocado?"
cue an "Oh thank god!" from the other, and I dunno what happens next.

So, it's been pretty much established that Matt has quite the fucked up relationship to pain/bodily harm, or admitting that he is hurting for that matter.
What if the whole thing originates from Stick/his training? Stick having no qualms about beating up 9 year old!Matt, because boy, in real life your enemies won't stop either, now stop crying and get back up again. Or snapping at him whenever he dared to complain about being in pain, telling him to stop whining, this is real life and real life is hard, get used to it kid.
So, basically I'd like to see Matt accidentally slipping in that sentence when he's talking to Foggy, not really thinking about it (because by the end of Stick's training this was pretty much normal for him) until Foggy starts freaking out about it.

Do they try to confront him about it? Or try to find out who Matt's partner is (so that they can give them hell for hurting him)? I just want seriously concerned Foggy and Karen.

It's canon that Matt is more sensitive to motion sickness, so why not? It probably doesn't matter too much in the city, since he never seems to leave his general area of Manhattan, but it could be if he needs to actually take a longer ride somewhere.

Non-sexual, please. Because this is kinkmeme, I thought I should mention that. There can be relationships in it, let's just keep nausea and vomiting out of that arena.

(Fun, semi-related fact for non-New Yorkers: Everyone taking cabs on the show is VERY unrealistic. Even though Hell's Kitchen doesn't have a subway line, it doesn't need one because it's so small, and if you're leaving the area, basically every subway line is easily accessible at the Port Authority and Penn Station. Cabs are super expensive, too, especially for short rides at night, when there's the initial $5 charge and the premium for after hours. Probably the reason they use cabs on the show is because subways are expensive to film in.)

Foggy whump, lasting effects; Gen or Matt/Foggy

It is the nature of the show that we get plenty of excellent Matt whumping in both canon and fics. But there is a downright famine of Foggy!whump.

Most hurt/comfort fics end with the confessions of love at the hospital bedside. (Which, don't get me wrong, are delicious and I love them.) But I'd really like to see something with both the whump scenes AND Foggy having to deal with long-lasting physical after-effects of whatever he experienced. Permanent mobility issues/wheelchair bound? Chronic pain? Loss of an extremity? Facial disfigurement? Something he'll have to adjust to that will mean permanent changes to his life.

(n/b: Hell yes, I've definitely been reading "Fine, but not fine" a WIP fill for another prompt, which has Foggy dealing with temporary blindness, and it definitely reflects this prompt too, but I can't really find the words to describe the slight differences I'm seeking. The blindness fill has a lot more psychological feel and uncertainty about it's permanency, and I'm looking for something a little more 'corporeal', if that makes sense. (The same author's fill for a prompt for getting Foggy's tongue cut out is ALSO hella permanent and fits that intent of my prompt, but that one's a little too far into my personal YIKES scale for me to read for pleasure. :x (And brain injury fics are too close to my family life and make me too sad to read, too. Gosh, I'm picky.)))

Matt will feel guilty of course because that's [i]Matt[/i] for you, but Bonus for Foggy going "look this is exactly what I have been afraid would happen to you this whole time and I don't think you really understood that until now and I wouldn't let you change places with me if you could, you self-sacrificing dolt".

Double bonus if maybe whatever happens WOULD have happened to Matt otherwise, and Foggy has saved his friend from additional disability.

Triple bonus if you use an alternate premise from the usual 'kidnapped b/c of daredevil' or 'kidnapped because of case', but those are tried and true tropes and there's nothing WRONG with them - it would just be cool to see someone mix it up a bit.

I am happy with either gen or Matt/Foggy (or even Matt/Foggy/Karen or Matt/Foggy/Brett), but please no Matt/other or Foggy/other, and please no Claire at all.
