Unbeknownst to Foggy and Matt, killing does get easier for Karen. She's tired of always being the victim, and it's time to fight back. She only kills the really bad men, which takes her out of Matt's turf a lot of the time.

One person does know about Karen's pursuits, however. Karen is on Elektra's turf, and she is watching. Waiting. Deciding whether to make a pact or to strike.

Somewhere in there, she accidentally falls in love.

For sedoretu stories, in addition to gender, everyone has a nebulous-but-easily-sensed aspect of their identity called a 'moiety', which is either morning or evening, and proper marriages are between four people: a man and a woman of each moiety. Queer/gender imbalance stuff is unusual but generally accepted; people of the same moiety sleeping together is taboo. So one sedoretu/marriage has two gay relationships (morning man/evening man, morning woman/evening woman), two straight ones (morning man/evening woman, and evening man/morning woman), and two non-sexual male/female friendships that are still supposed to be supportive and close (morning man/morning woman, evening man/evening woman).

Obviously, Matt and Karen are one moiety, and Claire and Foggy are the other. Matt and Foggy have been planning to get married forever but they could never quite find the right girls - Matt respects Marci but can't ever really *like* her, Foggy has built up some preemptive defensiveness regarding Matt's stupid gorgeous women dismissing him, because they aren't supposed to sleep with him but they don't have to be openly relieved about it, okay. (OR WHATEVER)

And then Karen (and the husbands Casserole!!), and then Claire, who maybe could be brought around to feeling differently about throwing in with Matt if it wasn't something she was doing alone, you know?

I don't need the whole epic get-together (though that would obviously be amazing), just anything from this universe! Young engaged avocados! Team sport flirting! Show snippets rewritten with new context! A glimpse of Future Married Life! Literally any of this would be amazing to me.

Guys I am seriously outraged at the lack of meet parents fics, specifically Karen's parents. I don't care if it's Christmas, thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Holi, pesach, Ramadan WHATEVER! Even though the height comment isn't really about height I gotta say it's adorable that Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll are both 5'10. If I was an Irish grandma I'd pounce on that fact and never let it go.

Foffy kidnaps Matt

Post Season 01. Foggy loves that dork of his friend, and is in love with him too, so so much. Maybe Matt knows, maybe not, but he is a dork, so when some baddies blackmail him, he is ready to offer himself. He will be arrested or killed, writer choice, but he is ready to martyr himself.
But Foggy is not!
He drugs him and puts him somewhere (by himself or with Karen's help) with a chain around his ankle. But he makes him as comfortable as he can (a camp bed, food, a radio...). Matt goes berserk, he tries to talk and then shout and then cries, but Foggy is unmoving. He knows there will be Hell to pay, later, but for now he must keep Matt safe from himself.
In the end, when the danger seems over he frees Matt, but something happens and Daredevil has to save him, again. And now Foggy goes to face Matt, expecting his wrath and disappointment and perhaps hate. But Matt could never hate Foggy. And maybe this is the first time since his father death that somebody has risked so much to save him. And maybe he loves Foggy too, in the end....

Matt and Foggy play up 'The Blind Card' to show Matt isn't Daredevil

Matt obviously sucks at lying, and all his excuses for his Daredevil related injuries are so transparent it's almost painful. Once Foggy is in the know he decides he's got to help Matt cover better, because eventually someone is going to notice something suspicious. So Matt and Foggy decide that the best way to preemptively keep people from making any connection between Matt and Daredevil is to really play up the helpless blind guy thing. (If you're into Matt/Foggy as a ship maybe Matt supports this act because it means Foggy has to talk to him describing things and leading him around all the time.) Or maybe Foggy has to do a lot of convincing to get Matt to play super helpless. Either way they end up with Foggy leading Matt around and taking advantage of peoples' subtle ableist attitudes. And they play it up SO hard it gets a bit ridiculous, maybe even to the point where people find it kinda painful to watch how much Matt Murdock struggles through life. Things like:

-Matt purposefully not reacting to any gestures/quiet/non-verbal interactions that happen unless Foggy describes them to him in great detail. This includes things like people going to shake hands, and then once Foggy tells him they're trying to shake his hand he 'misses' until the other person grabs his hand or Foggy puts his hand in the other person's.

-Matt tripping over things he 'wasn't expecting' to be there, including things like dogs, a trash can someone moved a few inches over, power cords, people, cracks in the sidewalk, (anything he can get away with tripping over) etc.

-Matt fumbling around for things on tables, like a coffee cup or a file, for several minutes ('somehow' he always just barely misses finding whatever it is he's going for).

-Matt getting (purposefully) lost in buildings where the signs don't have braille.

-Matt almost walking into traffic, 'luckily' Foggy is always there to stop him.

-Foggy going shopping with Matt because obviously Matt can't tell what things are, or what denomination his money is. (Not like he can smell the groceries or anything. And there is the fact that he comics canon can't tell newer American money apart.)

+BONUS+ If Matt and Foggy get involved with the Avengers as lawyers and troll them for a while before Matt's identity gets revealed. (Any of the Avengers being protective of the good hearted yet painfully helpless blind lawyer before finding out he's really not helpless at all could be so great.)

TLDR: They put on a huge show whenever anyone can see to establish that Matt is a very helpless blind guy so that no one would ever guess he was Daredevil. Yes, I'm looking for hilarity and over-the-top antics wherever possible.

Matt/Foggy, Stuck in a Safehouse

Matt and Foggy are in trouble and it’s not something Daredevil can just punch into submission. A group (SHIELD?) helps them get away to a safe location. (’Helps’ could maybe be read as ‘forces them underground/off the grid for their own damn good while we handle this.’)


+Matt doesn’t handle the situation very well. Especially not the part where he’s locked up and pacing the rooms like a caged tiger.

++Foggy keeps trying to distract him, but nothing works.

+++Until they start making out. That works.

(Repost) Gen or Matt/Frank, Frank starts treating Matt differently, past non-con

In the pre-Punisher days, Frank goes out to a bar one night with some of his fellow Marines. When he goes to the bathroom, he finds one of the Marines in there, raping this blind college kid who's clearly been drugged. Frank kicks the guy's ass and takes Matt to the hospital.

Once Matt is released, Frank tries to convince him to press charges, but Matt won’t hear any of it and tells Frank to leave him alone. Frank respects his wishes and never goes looking for Matt again.

When Matt meets the Punisher, he recognizes him, but Frank doesn’t know who Daredevil is. They develop a relationship like in the comics: antagonistic, but with an underlying mutual respect, and in a weird way Matt comes to value Frank as an ally. And maybe as a little more than that, if you want to go the Matt/Frank route.

Matt tries hard to hide his identity, but eventually Frank finds out. And just like Matt feared, Frank starts treating him differently. When Matt tries to stop Frank from killing someone, instead of fighting like they used to, Frank lets Matt have his way. Frank becomes protective of Matt, like he thinks Matt can’t handle himself in a fight.

On one hand, Matt is happy that Frank isn’t killing people. On the other hand, it makes him sick that Frank only sees him as a victim now. Matt confronts Frank and tells him off for pitying him. He tries to force Frank into fighting him, but even when Matt hits him, Frank won’t fight back.

The truth eventually comes out: Frank doesn’t pity Matt. He feels guilty. Because the guy who raped Matt? He raped Frank, back when Frank first enlisted in the Marines. And Frank chose not to press charges (or to kill him) back then, so he feels like it’s his fault that this guy was able to rape Matt.

Look, sometimes a guy just wants someone else to do the thinking for a while, you know? Just get an order, follow the order, and maybe get a "good job" or two after it's done. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not like it's a SEX thing (though hey, Frank's an open-minded fella). And it's not his fault that Murdock's basically his only friend.

Meanwhile, Matt's not sure how to deal with the fact that his sort-of-frenemy keeps getting on his knees in front of him (and not just to fix the leaky pipe under the sink that's not actually leaky, Matt would know if it was), heart rate and body heat ratcheting up whenever Matt says "thank you."

Matt/Ransakov brothers - Avengers think Daredevil was programmed

On the prompt #7 there a great fill of the avengers thinking Foggy is Daredevil handler! We need more of this because is pure misunderstanding gold.

I don't know how the Avengers come to the conclusion Daredevil was programmed and has a handler, maybe is because he can see what people are doing or feeling but sometimes don't connect both. Like people looking at him with horror of his next faux pass.

Maybe is because Stick did place a lot of bullshit on his head: soft things make you weak, pushing himself to fight when he's clearly bleeding a lot and on pain, act like broken bones are totally okay and he can keep going, and the vision is a distraction. Can you imagine the Avengers finding out he's blind and he throw that at them?

He's supreme anti-social, the idea of passing time outside of fighting with them seen to give him pain and he has little notion of pop culture if at all. You would think he has no outside life beside being a vigilant!

Then they find Daredevil talking with this Russians who are giving him orders, he seen visible upset but agreeing. Seriously anything the Ransakov could say could be so misunderstood, specially with Vladimir temper.

+ all the points for everyone they meet related to Daredevil making they more sure about the programming.

-Foggy says all the things that could be misunderstood, maybe he makes a joke about Daredevil being a masochist. you could even think he's gloating.

- Anatoly had enough headache trying to keep Vladimir alive, Daredevil is double the headache. He's just trying to make sure he don't follow his martyrhood tendency, so what if he tied on him on bed?

-Vladimir don't like sharing and he don't like the Avengers.

-Claire mentioning Daredevil has had worst, much worst. And don't seen bothered (you do get used after some time).

-Anatoly and Vladimir call Daredevil their little devil.

- Maybe Daredevil and Bucky bond over something. Avengers have feels.

If you want to go the smut route and have Karen handcuffing Foggy to Matt's bed then I'm all for that too, so long as there's consent.

Matt/Ranskahov brothers - reverse Alpha/Omega dynamics

Omegas are the dominant and the most important part of the mating pair, not submissive and easily influenced by pheromones. Stead they are the leaders of packs and alphas are the ones having a hard time saying no when they are on rut.

Because of this when an alpha is on rut, Interested omegas will fight to see who will mate with the alpha. The omega who wins to go the alpha and they fight, to see if the alpha is strong enough to defend the omega is they get pregnant as result of the mating. If the omega find them worth they submit to the alpha.

+plus if both parts can smell when other part would make the best mate for them.

Daredevil is a omega and as a vigilant he more than showed how strong and capable he is, the Ranskahov always knew they would have the best and they couldn't be more sure of it as they smell him.

However, there's no reason a omega like Daredevil would settle for alphas like Ranskahov who are criminals and the opposite of everything he believes despise they being a good match.

Cue for the Ranskahov courting the hell out of Daredevil and doing the best to prove him they are the best choice before their rut.

Maybe Matt gets dosed with something so that he needs to be touching someone or else his senses go haywire.

Maybe Karen finally reveals what happened with Wesley and needs a hug or five million.

Maybe Foggy just wants to love EVERYONE IN THIS BAR, and Karen and Matt valiantly sacrifice themselves to save Foggy from a public indecency charge.

I never knew how much I needed Matt doting on his cat until I read the hilarious raccoon fill.

So what I'm asking for is Matt adopting a cat (adult at least) and getting so deeply invested--getting the cat matching cat toys in the hundreds, the best possible foods, silk blankets and fluffy pillows, letting the cat sleep with him in bed, petting it at all hours, being adorably overprotective, getting the cat a catflap so it's never trapped, teaching the cat how to turn on the faucets so it can drink, etc.

I've sen a lot of fics where Foggy's family adopts Matt for the holidays and it shows Matt the True Meaning of Christmas and it's all wonderful and God bless us every one, but how about something for those of us who find Christmas and family awful and stressful?

Matt loves the Christmas season -- it's liturgically beautiful, and sure he's a bit lonely, but he's always a bit lonely, and anyway the city is full of tourists who love everything they see and are so excited to be here and it's really nice to listen to even if they do keep stopping dead on the sidewalk to gawk and making him run into them, and he keeps tuning in to random acts of kindness, and Christmas trees smell wonderful, and and and. Meanwhile, Foggy dreads Christmas every year, because his family is huge and overwhelming, and he loves them but they're exhausting and take a lot of emotional energy to deal with, and he's always stressed out about money to afford gifts, and they have complex Christmas traditions and dutifulness scripts that must be followed exactly or else someone will have Ruined Christmas, and maybe also there's stress around Rosalind wanting to trot him out to show him off and it's the one time of the year she actually pays attention to him and he resents it. It was bad enough when he was a kid, but by now all he really wants to do for Christmas is blow off everything and hide in his apartment for the day, but if he ever said anything, the rest of his family would be really hurt. (And he will have Ruined Christmas.)

Matt realizes that it's really bugging Foggy this year -- if it's set back in law school maybe it's the first/one of the first Christmases he's spent around Foggy and he hears Foggy's heartbeat when Foggy lies that he's looking forward to it, or if it's set now maybe Matt realizes that the stress of the last year is just the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of Foggy's ability to cope, or maybe he and Foggy just recently got together and he wants to give Foggy the perfect Christmas, or maybe Foggy just reaches the end of his rope and has a mini-breakdown -- and somehow connives a way for Foggy to get his Christmas wish of not having to deal with any of it.

(In my family, my brother and his husband have decided that the perfect solution involves being out of the country, but it's up to author!anon how Matt decides to deal with Foggy's Christmas stress. Just, please, no winding up with anybody realizing that the true meaning of Christmas is faaaaamily and togeeeeeeetherness.)

I second the fuck outta this. The idea that Foggy's happier with everything in life because he has a large extended family in fanon is weird and I'd like to see more exploration of how having a big family can be very difficult.

Other reasons Matt might like Christmas more:

-reasons to remember good times with his father
-he gets lots of time on breaks to go to the gym/do what he wants/not study all the time
-getting to wear soft warm clothing (eg: fuzzy gloves and socks, a nice warm coat, scarves, earmuffs so sound is more muffled)
-winter foods (hot chocolate, malt wine, Christmas ham, etc)
-easier to warm up in winter than cool down in summer
-more happy people to listen to/better background noise
-sound of Christmas carols
-even tho in comparison to before his dad died, it sucked, the present/s from the orphanage where in retrospect signs some of the nuns were actually pretty good humans
-excuse to buy himself at least 1 nice thing w/o so much guilt (it's because his dad would, he tells himself)

Foggy Has Kept Matt Away from the Nelson Christmas For Reasons

Similar to the above prompt, I would love to see a fic where Foggy has always avoided going home for a family Christmas as long as Matt has known him or been really cagey when Matt tries to fish for an invite.

And then, after the events of the show when they agree to be honest with each other about more things, Matt pushes him, finally gets invited to meet them over the holidays, and finds out why.

It turns out that he didn't want to subject Matt to his family for... reasons. As he loves them, his family is kind of a mess. The reason is up to the author, but here's a few suggestions that I think are kind of funny:

• Foggy's mother is a crazy hoarder (like the kind on the show Hoarders), and Foggy's family home is unnavigable for a normal person, let alone a blind man. It makes cleaning the house next to impossible, and staying in it for any length of time a pain, but his mother just cannot be convinced to live another way.


• Foggy's parents like to spend the entire holiday season berating Foggy and getting digs in about all of his life choices. They crack feminine or gay jokes (whether they're true or not), have very right-wing political beliefs, and are blue-collar to the point where any time Foggy uses a big word they take it as an insult to their intelligence (hence his mom wanting him to be a butcher). They have no tact around Matt and find him really pretentious.


• Foggy's dad is currently on his fourth wife, and she's Foggy's age. None of the various half-brothers and sisters Foggy has from the other marriages are impressed either, and some of them have a host of their own problems (clearly failing marriages, multiple kids of their own who are hellions, etc.)


• Most of Foggy's family are varying levels of con artists or crooks. Some of them have been in and out of jail, some clearly are alcoholics or drug addicts, and even the ones doing alright are still trouble.

Fun fact: I have met people with each of the family scenarios above.

Basically, I want a fic that really gets creative about the many ways that family units can be embarrassing and people you avoid the rest of the year and dread having to deal with. And Matt meeting them for the first time.

Bonus if Foggy's genuinely excited to introduce Matt to the couple of relatives he actually does like.

Jobsearching While Disabled- gen, Matt

Matt probably had a job before L&Z. During college, in high school. probably retail or other entry level shit.
You know how it is trying to get hired with a visible disability. (For those who don't: it's terrible)

Your phone interview is excellent, but their eyes bug out when they see you in person.
Their hearts beat a mile a minute as they tell you not to bother sitting down, the position has been filled.
Illegal-ass interview questions as they try to suss out any hidden deficits
Not being able to work for charities because minimum wage laws don't apply
"We can't hire you now, but I'll put you on the wait list for if the amputee girl quits"
"Can you work without the cane? The tapping is annoying"
"No, you can't have {reasonable accomidation}. I'm not giving you special treatment."
"I don't have time for harassment complaints. If you can't get along with others, then quit."
"I wish I had employers lining up to kiss my blind ass, the rest of us had to work to get hired

And so on. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Hm. I think there was a fill or a fic around where Matt fails to get a job as a waiter or something...? Has anybody read that one and can find a link? (That said, I think I'd like to read a fic where he works at one of those Darkness-restaurants staffed exclusively by blind waiters. Maybe an AU where he meets Foggy not at college, but as a customer? Hm, on second thought I probably should wait to get to my computer and make that a separate prompt...^^°)
