TW for attempted non-con, OMC/Matt, death of OMC, drugged drinks

Matt is out with Karen and Foggy one night. He somehow gets separated from them and ends up striking up a conversation with a man who drugs his drink and attempts to rape him. Matt gets away, but in his drug-induced panic, he accidentally kills his attacker while fighting him off.

He hides the truth from his friends, but he's traumatized (both by having nearly been raped and by having crossed his "killing is bad" line) and it's obvious that something is very wrong.

Frank of all people is the one who helps him cope--and maybe takes the fall for the rapist's murder? Because no one would think twice about the Punisher killing another scum-of-the-earth rapist, but Frank is fond of Matt and wants to protect his reputation (and the reputation of Daredevil, for that matter).

Can either be a gen fic or Frank/Matt, but please no magical healing cock! Thanks!

Ohh I like this, especially given how Frank actually seemed kinda... concerned? With the idea of Matt crossing that line? I can see him trying to help Matt cope now it's happened

Poor Matt. I can totally see how he wouldn't think he could tell this to his friends, especially Foggy ("Misspelling hanookah is a mistake. Attempted murder is something else!") but Karen too ("I think he was inevitable. I don't see the difference anymore.")

And, oh, talking to Father Lantom about possibly killing Fisk turns out to be entirely different to confessing an actual murder. But I'm sure he would make himself say it anyway, not sure if he can ask for absolution but confessing nonetheless.

And then there's Frank, the guy that told him there is no going back, and Matt wants to prove him wrong, he wants to, but what if he can't? What if it's true? Frak would know, after all. Does it even matter what he does from now on? Once a murderer, always a murderer, isn't it? But then there is a scream in the night, and maybe it matters to them, if not to him.

"What the hell 's going on with you, Red?"
Matt laughed. "I had a bad day."

I think at least someone ought to point out to Matt that accidentally killing the guy who drugged and sexually assaulted you is not murder in any U.S. jurisdiction. At worst, it's manslaughter, and that only if you have a really crappy defense attorney.

Fr. Lantom would be a could candidate as long as Matt actually told him the whole story and not just "I killed someone."
