The Chaste's preferred method for training their warriors to deal with rape is to desensitize them...with rape.

Stick, for all the dick he is, doesn't do it to any of his students. He abhorred it when he experienced it and refuses to do it.

It gets out that this is a thing. Everyone is horrified with it and when they connect that DD was about 12 when he was trained they become very sympathetic. And decide to hunt down his teacher.

Cue horrified Matt and trying to explain to everyone that no he doesn't have Stockholm damn it. He was never raped. Now stop trying to kill his mentor.

This is an awesome prompt. I love sympathizing with Stick.

Have you read Not your Damn Daddy by Joe Lawson on AO3? No resemblance to the prompt, but it makes Stick pretty sympathetic.

"Th-that's why he stopped training me so early, it wasn't because I fucked up?"

OUCH. This makes the ice cream wrapper scene even more painful. It's less Stick being a dick and more 'this is the straw that broke the camel's back I can't do this'.

Aw I can imagine Stick being like "they're warriors even if I didn't train them that way. They're warriors."- to his former pupils and then when Matt gives him the wrapper it all collapses and he realizes that he's been making them all warriors but they're all still or were children when he did it. He may have not raped them but he still ruined them in a way.

He keeps on saying that his pupils aren't suitable and should be cut loose, right before they're due for the rape desensitisation, and his superiors keep on pushing him to start desensitising them earlier and earlier. After Matt or after Elektra they stop letting him 'ruin' their candidates.

I'm imaging that maybe it's known he won't do it and as a result Stick and his pupils are seen as "soft". Maybe it's even s perverse joke like if a Chaste member meets Matt and jokes how he knows he's not up to their mettle if they cannot handle "a little conditioning". Maybe it's seen as off that Stick doesn't rein in his warriors if they wander off to do their own thing because most of the others can't really function in society other than as cover.

What if this all came to a head because stick took the usual fandom route of bringing his latest student to Matt to recover after they are attacked by other members of the chaste?

Ouch. That would hurt Stick because he probably regrets leaving but had to and probably didn't expect someone to assuming his student needed training because Stick was still around. Maybe this breaks some status quo and Stick is wanting to clean house but he has to get his student somewhere before. Of course Matt would get them help and this would come out because Stick didn't bother to tell him the reason his student needed healing.

Or maybe someone's staging a coup and decided to send Stick a message by raping his students.

How would the medical aspect of this work? Is Stick going to try and prevent pregnancy/stds with some drain cleaner concoction and tell them to meditate away the tears in their vaginal/rectal tissue?
How does Claire react when Matt calls her up to treat a raped kid or two that some sketchy child abuser dropped on his doorstep and expects her to not to take any of it to the police
("Theres no point in a rape kit, they already showered. The chemical burns need the most attention. No, not as part of the assault. Like i said, they showered. They dont need a record of the assault. It's being settled out of court. It's a sketchy orphan ninja thing, yiu wouldnt understand")

Even I do t think Stick would think sketchy concoctions are good for rape. Although I believe the 'fun' if these twist is how the fudge does Matt deal with having an undocumented minor with him because legality isn't simple.

"...This is somehow related to those drugged kids isn't it?"

"We were being trained to fight against the ninjas, yes They're the ones who did it. Not our teacher, he's cleaning house of them."

"Why can't you ever have something normal? Oh look an injured blind person. Oh he has super abilities and is very violent. Oh a bunch of kidnapped and bled children. Oh wait they're actually brainwashed and very violent. Oh look children who have been sexually assault needs help. Oh that was done by their own ninja organization training them to be, seriously how old are they?, child soldiers and their mutual teacher is out murdering people."

"I sense you have some anger issues."

"Shut up, Matt."

Now I want "settling out of court" to become a running inside joke euphemism for Matt beating up (specifically) people he fails to defeat in court...

I love the idea of a few kids (idk why, maybe some were leaving and some were incoming and some are related and come as a set) dragging Stick and The Chaste to filth and letting Matt know what kind of fucked up experiences he missed out on by not being a full Chaste apprentice.
One kid would work, but having multiple experiences and reactions would be best for worldbuilding. They could play off each other and reveal a lot by how they interact (i imagine theyre mostly assholes lashing out at each other like six velociraptors in a tent with two sleeping bags, but thats just my personal preference)

OP here. I support this all too. The multiple perspectives would be interesting to see.

I'll take a crack at it then, try to get some snippets at least

It was a boy and a girl. Their eyes were serious and something about them haunted. The boy winced as he stood. Matt went on edge as Stick came in behind him. Elektra made a play for her knives but didn't pull them out.

"Who are you?" He demanded. Stick pushed him back and Matt wondered if they were going to fight children. No instead he walked over to them and said.

"You're hurt."

"Yes." The boy replied. Matt and Elektra relaxed, minutely. More of Stick's proteges then. Something was off though. They just couldn't quite place it.

"What happened? I told you to stay. I'd come back for you."

The girl spoke next. "We did. Then Master Stone came and said he'd continue our training. You never said you'd do this to us!" The girl yelled. "We trusted you and you were going to-"

"Never!" Stick yelled. "I never would've done it and I never have. I dropped students and moved them around before I finally was high enough to put my foot down." he pointed at Matt and Elektra.

"Ask them. Ask them if I ever made even the suggestion of it." The girl and boy looked at them. Matt felt the stare.

"What happened?" He asked, unsure. The boy was hurt, that was true, but Matt couldn't quite tell where. Elektra nodded.

"I don't know either. What happened?"

"They raped them." Stick said. Matt and Elektra jumped back in shock.

"What?"

"They raped them. Probably held them down and told them to fight. It's part of training."

"You never-"

"Is that why you left?" Stick laughed.

"No and Yes."

"Elly, you were my star pupil. I had trained students for decades, never touching a single one and then you were found out. I killed the other instructor and hid you It set me back a bit but I never touched you did I?"

"No. I didn't even think about that at that point. It didnt' cross my mind."

"Good." Stick said and laughed bitterly. He motioned to Matt.

"Then I trained you Matty. I found you after Elektra and I was in deep shit. The clean up and mess of finding lost students- it wasn't a good time for me but I thought I could handle it."

"That's why ou left?"

"I left because they wanted me to rape you. Train you like they had me. Hold you down until you don't cry even though it hurts and you can smell the bleeding. You were soft. I wasn't going to, I was even going to lie but then you gave me that damn bracelet. I couldn't even tell you to lie. You were a child. Not even a soldier despite my training.

"And now this?" He motioned to the children. "I'm going to kill them for it."

The boy and girl stared. "You weren't going to hurt us like that?" the boy asked.

"No. I don't train my students like that. It doesn't help. I went through it. I know." He shook his head. "Matt I need you to take care of them. Take them to that pretty nurse of yours. Get them help."

"And me?"

"Stay." Stick said. "I need to do this alone. It's time that we made some changes to the Hand." With that he left. Matt felt a sick and angered but didn't follow. These children needed help and he could get them to it. Elektra walked to them slowly.

I meant the Chaste not the Hand in the last part. Ugh. Dumb me.
