Maybe a reverse Princess Diaries thing, where the Family (or whatever) is actually pleased by how he's turned out, since he was raised by "that boxer" and then a "charity" (sneers on the quoted words, of course). Meanwhile, Matt's doing his reverse snobbery thing.

Note: I have read The Lost Prince, but only caught snatches of The Princess Diaries and decided it wasn't my thing.

superhero logistics - matt's suit

i had a thought that made me wonder how superheroes keep their suits clean. like matt only has one suit, it must get ripe as hell on the inside + outside. it doesn't strike me as the kind of thing that's machine-washable (does matt even have a washing machine? is there a communal laundry in his apartment block?) but like, how are you going to take a red leather suit with horns to the dry cleaners? is there some sort of superhero dry cleaning service? does matt just febreze his suit a lot? is he always running around smelling like b.o and flowers? does he hand wash it and hang it to dry on the roof? does he make a point to run around in the rain? has one of his neighbours caught their polite blind neighbour surreptitiously washing a leather suit at 3 A.M and have they walked away thinking he must be kinky-as-hell? i'm very curious about superhero logistics. how does matt keep his suit clean? can be as cracky or realistic as you want!!

Foggy is an (ex)vigilante

The reason Foggy was so mad and scared for Matt when he found out he was the man in the mask? Before Foggy met Matt at law school, HE was a vigilante (either a traditional man-outside-the-law kind or maybe he has some sort of mutant powers idk) and he gave it up when it went badly badly wrong - he got hurt physically/psychologically to the point where his body/mind is permanently affected; OR nearly caught; OR he nearly hurt an innocent and since then swore he couldn't ever do it again.

+ Half the reason why he's so pissed at Matt is that he knows exactly how it can ruin someone's life (and he kinda blames himself that he didn't see the signs because out of everyone he should have recognised Matt's behaviour for what it was).
++ Foggy tells Matt all this during Nelson vs. Murdock.
+++ Foggy at some point has to use his skills again when Matt's in trouble as Daredevil.

Please! I can actually see a younger, more naive Foggy trying to be a vigilante (esp if this were an AU where he had powers of some sort), but his lovely optimistic self not being able to handle being a vigilante in Hell's Kitchen, where good vs bad may not be as clearly defined.

5+1 Reasons for Foggy's Assumptions About Matt's Sex Life

So this is in part inspired by a post on the Discussion/Off-Topic board about why exactly Foggy is so cool with his friend having a burner phone that he uses to hook up with women.

Why is he so accepting of that? What the hell must he think about Matt's sex life that he's just like "Oh, you don't want the women you date to have your real number or know your real name. That makes sense and is awesome."

I want a fic that lays out 5 times Foggy is conditioned to think like that and sort of faking support based on tall tales Matt has told him over the years to cover other stuff.

So, for example, maybe Foggy comes back to their dorm room and it's trashed and stuff is stolen, and it was totally related to his powers or Stick, but Matt lies and says it was a woman.

Maybe Matt has had to have a burner phone in the past for contacts within the Chaste or related to his training, and he lies and tells Foggy it's for other reasons.

All of it leaves Foggy thinking that Matt must be into some weird, weird stuff in his personal life that he's kind of afraid to ask about.

And then the +1 is that I just want Foggy to basically realize that all of his assumptions about how bizarre and weird Matt's sex life is stem from his supersenses and training, him being relieved because he was actually really a little disturbed thinking about it, and Matt being a little offended when Foggy tells him what he thought was going on the whole time.

The weird kinks Foggy thinks Matt has are up to the author!

Foggy sees dead people in his dreams. Sometimes Mrs Càrdenas tries to tell him vital information but Foggy doesn't speak Spanish. Ben appears when something is going on with Karen. That criminal they defended is super creepy. Weasley gives no useful information but snarks as hell.

And Jack keeps trying to help Matt. At first Foggy doesn't know who he is but then the guy mentions he is boxer and it just clicks.

I can only really imagine this being not outright noncon in a BDSM 'verse but if you can make it not angsty in a realistic 'verse that's cool too. Totally inspired by an above prompt and this Dresden Files fic: http://archiveofourown.org/works/392922 .

Matt's new romantic partner has seen his injuries and (due to their own experiences, the AU they live in, or an 'enlightening' chat with one of Matt's other friends) assumes they're due to bedroom activities with previous partners. (An unusually non-wounding time in Hell's Kitchen lets Matt heal up just as they get together? They suspect he's getting his pain fix elsewhere?)

After giving him a lot of openings to ask them to [smack him around/tie him down/do whatever the hell did that THING to his arm last month, they're open to new things] and getting nothing but confused or embarrassed evasive answers, they take matters into their own hands.

Matt can't ask? Can't even respond to subtle offers? That's fine. They'll just try some things out.

I don't mind if Matt's unexpectedly really into it or very uncomfortable, but I would like his partner to stop immediately if he actually refuses anything.

Maybe Matt and Foggy have an underaged prostitute as a client and Matt is disturbingly good at connecting with him/her. Maybe post-revelation they're talking about Matt's scars and there's one he won't explain. Maybe one of his old clients turns up and makes trouble. However you want to work it.

I'm thinking this happened in the pre-canon, post-Stick era--if Matt somehow ended up on the street by himself for a while as a teenager, I could see this issue coming up.

Foggy is horrified when he finds out. Matt is blasé. Just fuck me up.

Epic friendship, Matt/Foggy, other pairings are cool (please no villain!pairings, though).

Foggy is trained as a Mage/Wizard/Spellsword/Whatever. I just want to see how this affects his life, his relationship with Matt, and in general how often the magical world Foggy is familiar with intercepts with the regular one (this is the Marvel universe after all).

Was Foggy born with these abilities? If not how and when did he start studying magic?
Are there different kinds of magic? If so what kind/style does Foggy prefer?

Does Foggy tell Matt about this at college, or does he keep it a secret until Nelson vs. Murdock? If he keeps it secret is it because he thinks Catholic boy Matt, raised by nuns who wouldn't even let him watch Harry Potter at the orphanage, would flip his shit at the idea of Foggy practicing something like magic, or is Foggy trying to protect Matt from evil magical forces that Matt couldn't begin to understand. Or maybe even both?

Was he a former vigilante that used his powers for good use but stopped after some traumatizing event? (A tie in to the prompt somewhere above maybe pretty please?)

I just wanna see magic!Foggy. Matt/Foggy preferred but it doesn't need to be the focus. I don't really have a preference what magic world author anon wants to go with, but something other than Harry Potter would be nice (I love HP don't get me wrong! I just wanted to see something different, ok?)

Bonus points if Doctor Strange is involved in the story some how. Foggy and Doctor Strange know each other, maybe even Foggy was his apprentice at some point.

anons, i want to share a little personal aside from today: i fell. badly. i tripped on an uneven part of the sidewalk while walking too fast and busted my knees and an elbow. i got up, assuring bystanders i was fine, but my adrenaline was pumping and that's the story of how i ended up walking five blocks back to the convention i was at to get first aid because i was bleeding out and in pain.

so just give me matt getting some normal, everyday injuries? maybe he pulls the same stunt as i did and takes a spill, and for once his injuries actually are from being clumsy.

foggy has had enough. he makes matt lie down for him, tends to him, kisses it better, so to speak. basically doesn't let matt leave the bed as he takes care of him.

+10 for pre-established relationship
+100 for matt feeling ashamed because it's like he's a kid again and he doesn't think he should be coddled this much but foggy won't hear any of it.

Some of my favorite prompts on this meme are the ones along the line of 'foggy nelson adopts new yorks costumed heroes'. SO with that in mind, the prompt.

Foggy seems to attract costumed heroes to the point where they sometimes just drop into his home if they need a safe house slash med station slash couch to crash on. Trouble is that the ones he usually ends up getting on the best with and who become repeat visitors are the morally sketchy ones. the sort of anti-heroes who probably have actually killed people or if they haven't it's not from lack of trying. I'm thinking possibly punisher, deadpool, wolverine, or ghost rider. Foggy is only not scared of them because he's seen half of them nearly ass-naked and bleeding out on his couch (or if theyre of the fasthealing variety, stealing his milk and leftover takeaway out of the fridge and looking guilty when caught).

+ foggy is very good at figuring out whether his new friends need a place to stay and no questions or a long four am talk about their multitude of issues.
+ matt is definitely not put out when foggy honestly tells him he has scarier friends than daredevil
++ everything goes to shit for any bad guys who kidnap that lawyer that gets associated with daredevil, because FUCK they werent expecting a one man armoury/an angry canadian with claws/a skeleton on ACTUAL FIRE.
