This post is for prompts involving everyone in Netflix's The Defenders! Crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go here. Prompts only including characters from one show should still go on the relevant show prompt post.

Matt + Danny + Team, Processing Survival

Inspired by another prompt. Danny's still not able to see what the monks did to him as abuse; as really noticeable in episode 4, when he just sort of followed once Stick showed up, he's still in the 'follow orders/respect the older warriors' headspace & hasn't really processed either the loss of K'un Lun/the culture he was raised in, much less realized that how he was raised was incredibly unhealthy.

Matt, along with the other Defenders/supporting characters, tries to bring some nuance into Danny's worldview--at the same time he's classifying Stick (and Elektra's) relationships with him as 'complicated' and making excuses for them. Cue him getting called on it (I'd love by Foggy, Jessica, or Claire, but whomever, or as a team effort, is fine).

Colleen/Danny + Others, Babes in the Woods

So, one of my biggest takeaways from Defenders is that Danny & Colleen are both really, really messed up; they were both brainwashed, raised for one single purpose-which they've now lost. They're trying to find their path (and finding each other was a start), but they've got quite a ways to go. Colleen breaks down with Claire, and Danny breaks down in panicked anger a couple of times, so while they're functioning, they're both pretty lost; they both grew up in this sort of hyper-focused surrounding, where everything is Life and Death and Focus and Discipline, but the real world they're living in now is a lot fuzzier around the edges; there's a lot more nuance than they're used to.

So, can we have anything with the Defenders, supporting characters, etc., helping them out? Maybe it's something as big as Luke/Claire staging an intervention, maybe something small like Foggy and Matt inviting them out to Josie's to get them to learn how to kick back-anything, honestly, would be great.

I would love to see this! We already saw Claire showing concern about Danny's mental health during Iron Fist, and she obviously cares a great deal about Colleen. Now all the others are there, too, to share the concern.

My brain is filling with plot bunnies but I generally go for long fics (if I manage to stick with them at least). Maybe I can work out a scene to start from and then later incorporate it into a longer fic if the motivation lasts. XD

Romantic Foggy/Karen

I came out of Defenders wanting Foggy and Karen to give each other a little happiness in the months that will no doubt elapse before Daredevil's third season. They can fall in love while seeing each other through the grieving process, or later. Romantic fluff tinged with sadness, Foggy learning Karen's secrets and taking them a bit better than he took Matt's (though likely not without some angst), and if Fisk comes after Foggy, well, Karen's lost one man she loved to the shadow elite. She'll be damned if she loses another
Feel free to turn it into a threesome on Matt's return, but the focus should be Foggy and Karen, and what they mean to each other.

Claire + de-aged Defenders

Through a magic spell or something, all of the Defenders are turned into kids. Now Claire has to figure out a way to change them back while trying to control four hyperactive, deeply-damaged kids.

* Luke is the only "normal" kid. He's a little shy and overly polite (Georgian son of a preacher), but way too smart to fall for Claire's weakass excuses. Still, he's willing to behave and keep an eye on the others.
* Jess is in her "princess dress plus combat boots" phase. She's also a bit of a smartass and wants to wander off exploring.
* Danny's just started his training at K'un Lun after the death of his parents and is completely traumatized. Whenever Claire gets mad at him, he flinches and expects her to hit him.
* Matt's just been abandoned by Stick, and is still in his child-soldier phase. He can tell Claire's lying to him, but goes along with it because he isn't sure whether Stick is testing him.

Omg I love this

Like--okay, I never watched Jessica Jones, so...was the princess dress + combat boots phase pre or post the death of her family? Bc if it was pre- it would be so heartbreaking to have to hide what happened later from her. And Luke would totally take it upon himself to look after the others because that's the kind of kid he was, with all of this responsibility for everyone ingrained in him.

Deaged Defenders in a hideout, no adults nearby

Inspired by the above prompt--somewhat similar, except there's no adult to take care of the child!Defenders, and so they have to figure out how to get food, go to bed, etc by themselves for at least a week.

Due to all the childhood beatings Danny has a deep seated aversion to physical discipline. Them someone (Authors choice) gives him a playful spank during sex and it puts him into an almost child-like state of fear and shame. H/C please

Matt likes subbing for Danny and doing some fairly physical BDSM--getting slapped in the face, wrestled to the ground and pinned there, rape roleplay, and a lot of things that would bad to an observer. Unfortunately for them, one day Jessica's spying on them for fun, expecting to see fun sexy times, but when she sees Matt being 'raped' she freaks out, hatches a plan to knock out Danny and isolate Matt from him to save him, and her ptsd-fueled rage and flashbacks and terror make her impossible to reason with.

Defenders OT4 or gen, teaching Danny how to do things

Danny's got huge gaps in his head of how to be a functional adult in NYC. Begrudging or not, the other Defenders teach him how to do shit.

Missing vs. dead and keeping up appearances

Apart from Misty, and the Defenders and co, no one else saw Daredevil at Midland Circle, or thinks that Matt Murdock did anything after the subway ride but dissapear on his way home.
Karen, Foggy and the Defenders have to keep up the appearance of Matt having only gone missing.

Foggy tells his parents everything

I'd like to see how the climax and aftermath would've gone if instead of Matt, one of the other Defenders, like Jessica, Luke, or Danny, had stayed behind to deal with Elektra.

After DD rejoins the Defenders, everything resumes. Except now Matt and Jess have become really good, super supportive friends and she finds out Matt's hooking up with some murderous brute who happens to be the Punisher, and she's worried Matt's in another abusive relationship like when he was with Elektra. Jess is still getting over Matt dying so she doesn't bother voicing her concerns to Matt, she goes directly to Frank.

Bonus points if Jess and Frank come to a solid understanding about each other, and what they really want is just to keep Matt safe.

Protective Jessica/PTSD

In front of the whole team someone (Perhaps Fisk) Menaces Matt in a sexually coercive or rapey way. Maybe Fisk is in a position of power and wants to toy with them. But he doesn't get a chance because Jessica flashbacks to Killgrave and goes bezerk. Killing the bad guy and seriously freaking out the team. Matt is disturbed but very moved that she cares.

Foggy's not coping well with Matt's death

Foggy's way to deal with what happened is drown himself in work and alcohol. He goes to Josie's everynight and avoids talking to anyone.
He is not dealing well and someone notices it. He doesnt really care and it goes down from there. Then Matt is back and Foggy is angry and doesnt know how to deal. He feels like their frienship is broken and neither Matt or Foggy knows what to do.
If Jessica becomes Foggy's drinking buddy would be awesome...

Minifill: Foggy's not coping well with Matt's death

Foggy stared at the bottle in front of him. He remembered half traded stores about his and Matt's first drinks. They started young but weren't consistent. Despite Foggy's love of the eel he and Matt kept heavy drinking to special nights.

He drank more when stressed. It came with the law career.

Matt had stopped drinking as much when he had taken up vigilantism.

Foggy couldn't indulge with the work load he was now harboring.

It didn't matter now.

It was a lifetime ago.

The alcohol was expensive and didn't do as much as a bottle from Josie's but she was starting to cut him off before he wanted.

A lifetime of dreams and potential died with Matt. Foggy's best friend died with Matt. His brother in all but blood died.

He grabbed the bottle.

Four drinks a night. He thinks the bottle easily classifies that.

The paper work in front of him gave him something to focus on and to keep him from downing it all at once.

When the words started to blur he put away the work and kept drinking.

He patted his belly. He stopped eating as much but hiis drinking was still expanding the waiste line.

Matt would be horrified.

He sunk into bed and stared at the spinning ceiling.

He wondered when he'd stop going from an alcoholic to a functional one.

It didn't really matter either.
