This post is for prompts involving everyone in Netflix's The Defenders! Crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go here. Prompts only including characters from one show should still go on the relevant show prompt post.

  4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2017 TV show in some way.

Post Defenders, Luke takes a stroll through Hell's Kitchen every week or so and slowly resolves the dissonance between Matt the reluctant fighter, and Daredevil, through the people and places he encounters.

Amnesiac Matt

Jessica, Luke, and Danny find out Matt isn't dead but amnesiac. They help him adjust. There could be any ship(s) (maybe Luke/Jessica/Danny/Matt ?) or no ship. If there's a pairing with Matt in it, and if there's smut, please keep Matt as a bottom.

Post-Defenders! Elektra fights the Kingpin

Matt Murdock is recovering in a church in San Francisco. So who is this imposter running around killing innocent lives and ruining his reputation? Elektra swears to find out and inadvertently goes to war with the Kingpin.

Danny and Luke meet Daredevil

I think Jessica is the only one who has a shadow of a chance to get it right.

Luke is, forgive me for saying, kinda dense. It takes more intelligence to fulfill someone else's role in a part of the city you don't know very well than he has on his disposal.

Danny just doesn't do well in this job, period. He goes out half-cocked, he makes terrible plans, he doesn't fight very well and underestimates everyone and everything in favor of "the immortal iron fist". It's honestly surprising he didn't get himself killed yet.

Jessica is used to figuring shit out - it's her actual job - and she doesn't have Matt's "fancy karate", but she can punch the lights out of you and maybe rope in two other fighters once the planning is over and she's sure there isn't much they can break anymore...

Gen, The Defenders meet Melvin

Okay, so people make fun of the suit a lot, for what are admittedly good reasons, though I think it's charmingly intimidating-camp. But...remember who MADE the suit? Melvin! So part of Matt's affection towards the suit is affection towards Melvin, so of course he defends it.

Anyway, pretty much...somehow the others meet Melvin. Maybe Matt's back and at some point they have to lay low and do so with Melvin. Or they just end up running into him and breaking the news of Daredevil's death, or HE contacts them to ask about where Daredevil is because he hasn't seen him in a while. Things go from there. I just want some friendship. Maybe Melvin makes Danny a suit, because Danny's high profile and is he really going to just wander around bare-faced punching people?

Anyway! Do whatever you want, I just want something about this!

The Hand brings back Kilgrave instead of Elektra

All the fingers are immune to him, and his memory is just as shattered as Elektra's was. Jessica's the spanner in the works this time since he cant bring himself to kill her and she's still immune. Kilgrave is also just as reluctant to serve the Hand as Elektra was...

Matt mourns Stick

So everything happened so quickly that we didn't get a reaction from Matt on Stick's death. And that relationship is so complicated... So how does Matt mourn that? This could be a scene with his "mother" where being reunited with her makes him consider Stick and break down and realize that he effectively did just lose another parent. Or maybe after somehow his "death" is resolved, it is a conversation he finally has with Foggy or Karen about him, or one of the other Defenders helping him to grieve having realized how important Stick was to Matt's life (maybe Jessica since she is so perceptive and insightful on that stuff). Just Matt grieving and reflecting on both how much Stick fucked his life up but also the things Stick gave him...

THIS. I understand how he was under a lot of pressure but he really took like 10 seconds to mourn Stick in the show.

Matt/Claire, gen or shippy, during the Defenders

So it really, really annoyed me that Matt and Claire barely said two words to each other during the show. Like...she mentions all her other super powered friends to each other (gets Luke and Danny to meet) but she doesn't mention her Matt at all? Was this her way of trying to keep him out of the fight with the Hand? (Did she know he had quit after the mess with them last season and did she want to avoid dragging him back?).

They barely acknowledged each other while in the same scenes. Luke and Jessica had some lovely scenes acknowledging their past relationship and moving forward into a new one but Claire and Matt got nothing. I'm not asking for something that discounts Luke/Claire. I'm just asking for something to fill in the blanks because they literally seemed like they had never even met and it irked me.

This disappointed me so much. We neeed to see them acknowledge each other as friends. Claire has known Matt the longest. I feel the writers really dropped the ball on this.

Foggy and Trish Hooked Up At The Police Station

We saw Trish approach Karen, but what if she also approached Foggy at some point. He is 100% her type and they were both in a tense but also boring situation. Maybe they diffused it with sex?

Up to the author whether Foggy is in an open relationship with Marci or feels bad about cheating on her as part of it.

Bonus if there is follow up where Trish comforts him when Matt didn't come through that door.

Events of the Show From The Supporting Characters POV

Just give me everyone interacting at the police station and how they kill all that time together.

Foggy and Claire talking about Matt or catching up, and her thanking him for heloing Luke.

Karen and Trish both being the nosiest about everyone and stockpiling info for future journalism.

Malcolm trying to rally them all into a friends of heroes support group on the spot.

Karen and Foggy both trying to not talk about Matt in that context at all and pretend they are there because Matt is targeted as a lawyer.

Foggy and Misty dishing about their mutual friend, Brett

Just all of them waiting around not knowing what might happen.

Matt/Karen/Foggy times they wanted to call each other and didnt

For me it looked like Matt, Foggy and Karen didnt reach each other in months until the begginig of the Defenders so I want to read aboutt hose tiems they needed to ehar their friend's voices but they didnt.

And the delicious irony of them processing their feelings about what's happened to Matt in a way that Matt would find horrifyingly blasphemous.

(For clarity's sake, I ship it as an OT3. Not saying there needs to be mention of the three of them having done anything in the past, though, just that there are FEELINGS there on both sides for both each other and Matt.)

Danny takes Matt's last words a little too literally

Bonus points for the hell he's gonna catch from Jessica, Luke, and Colleen, while Claire is mentally banging her head against a wall.

Foggy goes for the suit and when he's there he finds Elektra sleeping ont he couch but before he could do anything. Elektra jumps on him but doesn't kill him cause she remembers something about him, something that relates him to Matthew and she doesnt like that. Matthew is hers and only hers so she threatens this guy and tell him to back off...

OH MY GOD, YES. Elektra is so crazy possessive of Matt, and I have been dying for Foggy and Elektra to confront each other. Maybe Elektra doesn't remember all the terrible things she did to Matt in university, but Foggy has a GRUDGE about it.

Danny & Matt, family

I'm a sucker for found and chosen families. I'm also in love with the Danny&Matt relationship and deeply sad that we didn't get more of them. (Don't get me wrong, Matt&Jess friendship gives me life, and Danny&Luke are adorable, but... Danny&Matt, man.)

They're the closest in age. They both had shitty childhoods and were trained to fight in the same war. Matt is the first one who believes Danny. They ~relate~

So I want Danny and Matt becoming family (might be post-Matt's miraculous return). Luke is Danny's best friend, Jessica is scary, and Matt is like a brother. They talk mystical shit and martial arts. They hang out together. Matt teaches Danny how to be a costumed superhero.

Bonus points: for Foggy realising that somehow Matt gained a younger brother in that weird-ass zen billionaire.

This is a great prompt. I've been thinking that Matt and Danny on Defenders feel like they're headed towards the relationship Matt has with Peter Parker in the comics. I think you hit it on the head when you said brother dynamic. I really hope someone fills this!

Frank and the remaining Defenders searching for Matt

Frank is tearing the city apart looking for the devil because he won't believe he's really dead (show him the body and he'll stop looking!). Luke, JJ, and Danny discover what Frank is doing, and they form an awkward team with a common goal: Humor the Punisher on his wild search, keep an eye on him, and don't let him kill anyone. The Defenders may not like what Frank does, but they don't turn him in to the cops, and while they're searching they try to understand why Daredevil and Punisher would ever give a crap about each other.

Ultimately, they're constantly freaked out by Frank and a little intimidated even though he doesn't have any powers, but when he actually finds a recovering Matt alive, they get front row seats to Frank's human side.

Preference for gen or Frank/Matt. Bonus points if someone on the Defenders, maybe JJ, gets to know Frank better than the others and actually likes him.

Matt Makes Danny Feel Inadequate And Worthless

So Luke read Danny the riot act about his privilege in Defenders.

But what if Danny is so fixated on Matt being blind in the Chinese Restaurant because that's when he really realizes how little being "The Immortal Iron Fist" is worth, really, and how little he's done with all of his advantages.

What if Matt makes him feel extremely inadequate? Matt's blind, but he's a better fighter than Danny and unlike Luke or Jess he fights in a style similar to Danny's. Matt was also supposed to be trained under Stick to actually serve Kun Lun and the Iron Fist, and Danny isn't exactly feeling like an Iron Fist worthy of being served, especially by someone like Matt.

Maybe Danny tries to literally live Matt's life to feel connected to him and like less of a failure himself - being the one to memorialize and bury Stick, sleeping in Matt's apartment, funding a legal clinic in Matt's name, getting way too invested - until finally Colleen, the other Defenders, or Foggy and Karen have to talk him down from the crazy of that.

I'd love to read a fic about Danny trying to be Matt a bit too literally to escape having to face his own privilege and his own failures, and under the weight of all the trauma he clearly hasn't properly dealt with.
