Defenders-only Discussion Post

This post is for prompts involving everyone in Netflix's The Defenders! Crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go here. Prompts only including characters from one show should still go on the relevant show prompt post.

Rules:

General
1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. If you don't like something, scroll on.
2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.
3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).
4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2017 TV show in some way.
5. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

Prompts
1. All types of prompts are welcome.
2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).
3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

Fills
1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.
2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.
3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.
4. Multiple fills are always okay.
5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art and vids are all welcome.

"Well, that's the problem, Matt," Danny growled. "I'm all out of calm."

He punched Matt right in the face. Matt's blank eyes stared to the side, then lightning quick he hit Danny back. They began fighting, Matt pushing Danny down and Danny struggling to get in to land a hit amid the flurry of kicks and punches. Danny was feeling less confident than he had been before he started the fight. Stick had told Danny that Matt was the most naturally gifted fighter he'd ever known, but Danny had figured that had just been Stick's clouded judgement. Now though, Danny could see what Stick meant. Jessica and Luke tried to intercede in the fight, but it was not having much of an effect. There was only one way to end this, only one thing Matt Murdock could surely not beat.

Danny summoned his chi and prepared to strike. Luke stepped in the way, and Danny had half a second to be surprised before his fist hit Luke's chest and everyone went flying. Out of the corner of his eye, Danny could see Matt covering his sensitive ears and groaning in pain, but it only took the man a few seconds to recover because soon they were grappling on the ground, fighting for dominance.

"Sorry about this," Danny heard Jessica say, then there was a sharp crack and everything went black.

Danny woke up tied to a chair with Luke reading a newspaper a couple yards in front of him. They had a conversation in which Danny tried to convince Luke that he was doing the wrong thing. Luke was ignorant about basic things like anima and chi, and Danny had to remind himself that not many people had received the same training he had. Only Stick, it seemed, and Matt.

Matt...

Danny attempted to meditate, but the intrusive thoughts penetrated the calm. Matt was extremely gifted and, it seemed, more calm and rational than Danny. When Matt spoke, the others stopped and listened. When Danny said anything, they chuckled and dismissed him.

Matt had been trained by Stick, a member of the Chaste. He said that he wanted no part of Stick's war, but what if he'd gone on a different path? Maybe Matt would have been taken to K'un Lun when the gates opened. Maybe he would have competed against Danny and Davos and the others to be the Iron Fist. And maybe... Maybe he would have succeeded.

Danny shook his head. Colleen would slap him if he every voiced these thoughts aloud. Still though, it was in the back of his mind...
