This post is for prompts based on Daredevil and the surrounding MCU only. Any prompts involving characters or plot points from Netflix's Jessica Jones must go on the Jessica Jones Prompt Post. Prompts focusing on comic characters and storylines should go on the Marvel Comics Prompt Post.

IP Logging is currently on. Only the mod can see them, and the mod will only be paying attention to them when threads turn wanky and she wants to identify comments made by the same person.

Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe (excluding characters from Jessica Jones) and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

Prompts involving characters from Jessica Jones (including crossovers with Daredevil characters or the extended MCU) must go on the Jessica Jones Prompt Post.

Prompts that are exclusively about the comics should go on the Comics Prompt Post.

Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

A wounded daredevil gets beaten, raped, and unmasked by a group of thugs looking to humiliate the devil. And they record the whole thing.

The video goes viral. Soon enough everyone works out who he is, where he lives, works, and who he works with. He and his friends become targets. The stress makes his senses go haywire, making it difficult to focus on anything or communicate.

Tony Stark comes in to save the day. Foggy agrees for them to move into avengers tower while Matt recovers and they figure out where else they can live that's safe. Matt is pretty much catatonic at this point. The tower is good for him. Not only is he, foggy, and karen safe, but the living quarters have insanely thick hulk proof walls. It's easier for him to get a grip on his super senses again, and some rooms are completely soundproof which is bliss.

Cue Matt's slow recovery, his crippling guilt at dragging his friends into this, and his conviction that the avengers are only doing this out of pity. Including Clint who bounces around him like an excitable puppy wanting playdates.

Matt and the others bond with the team. And Matt's discovers that they would've been friends with him even if they'd found out his identity a different way. They've been watching his alterego for a while. And Clint just really really wants someone who'll go parkouring with him.

Other ideas include: (no obligation for author to follow any of these)

Matt gets addicted to soundproof rooms and refuses to leave.

His haywire tastebuds cause him to throw up anything that isn't 100 percent bland.

Matt develops a stammering problem and poss some level of mutism.

He is the stubbornest stubborn to ever stubborn and keeps throwing himself into situations he's not ready for and getting overwhelmed.

The avengers with their experiences of ptsd are surprisingly good at this.

Matt and Clint eventually become awesome friends.

When Matt finally accepts one of Clint's playdates (after umpteen rejections) Clint does a happy dance.

Please do if you have the time. Hoping this one gets filled. Think of the oceans of guilt Matt would squeeze out of this. Think of the angst. Of Foggy and Karen rubbing shoulders with superheros ever day and not being able to focus on anything but Matt. The drama. The potential fluff as Matt makes progress.

Yes to all of this

Matt's 'mind controls the body' schtick would totally feed into the 'it'll only hurt me if I acknowledge it' mindset. It's hard to keep that up when people keep calling to spew bile through the phone line and there's as many questions about his rape as there are about his vigilanteism.

I wonder if some reporters or general looky-loos would dig up Maggie. An interview with the nun who gave birth to daredevil is clickbait headline gold

It would also be interesting if this happened during Bucky's recovery. Even if they only met once I think they could have an impact on each other (for better or worse)

Op here. Great points. Maggie could be a great twist. Matt's just starting to acknowledge that he can't tough his way through this. He's starting to make progress, then bam, someone digs Maggie out of the woodwork.

And what if Bucky had been in the tower for a while. Everyone's been helping him recover which is part of how they're so good at it. Bucky keeps away from Matt because he doesn't want to upset his recovery, then Matt gets in danger and Bucky leaps in as his extremely protective attack dog.

Or something else. I don't want to dictate too much of this story for the potential author. There are so many ways this angsty journey could go, and I'm sure any of them would be good.
