Rules:
  • General
    1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. If you don't like something, scroll on.

    2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.

    3. IP Logging is currently on. Only the mod can see them, and the mod will only be paying attention to them when threads turn wanky and she wants to identify comments made by the same person.

    4. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    5. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe (excluding characters from Jessica Jones) and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    6. Prompts involving characters from Jessica Jones (including crossovers with Daredevil characters or the extended MCU) must go on the Jessica Jones Prompt Post.

    7. Prompts that are exclusively about the comics should go on the Comics Prompt Post.

    8. Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

    9. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - i.e., prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art and vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

i just keep thinking about how this would change the dynamic of their first meeting. there's going to be a different set of assumptions at play when you bring a strange woman into your house than a strange man.

oooo yes Claire would probably assume fem!Matt had been beat up and left for dead by a man too as gendered violence vs. Matt having definitely gotten into the fight of his own volition

Like the meat-counter scene from National Treasure.

"If you're not a steak, you don't belong here"
"Um, I need to hide from my ex-husband"
"That scary bald dude? Honey, you stay as long as you want"

What if F!Matt concealed her gender, like in the comics when Echo was Ronin. She protected her identity by wearing a fully covering costume that padded out her shoulders and waist. I think the artists also drew her taller, but that's beside the point.

So Santino still tells Clair there's a man in the dumpster, but things progress differently when they get to her apartment.

Claire might at first assume that Maddie's a trans guy or a crossdresser. Maybe she works under the assumption that this person's been attacked as a hate crime?

OP: it's my headcanon that fem!matt would still get called the man in the mask because of her build & because in general I see her as a soft butch lesbian. So I am here for any and all iterations of this interpretation where Claire thinks it was a hate crime and then Maddie is like shit no don't call the police this isnt what it looks like this was my fault and Claire was like oh honey no and Maddie is like no not that I mean this is actually my fault for picking a fight with the wrong people and if you call the police or hospital they will kill everyone.

AYRT:
I love you. I love this. I love everyone in this bar

The tone would be different at first. Claire isn't sure if this is the person who sent three men to the ER with nine broken bones between them or a scared, possibly drugged woman lashing out. She's still on guard, but less 'this guy might kill me' and more 'someone might kill this woman'.
At first the paranoia, the man in pursuit, even the police badge make sense, then there's more of a creeping 'alone with the psycho' vibe as Matt starts stringing Seymon up on the water tower

OP: After this discussion I may have to fill my own prompt by rewriting Cut Man l m a o
