    3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    5. Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

    6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - i.e., prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art, vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

FILL: Of Wasps and Alligators

(Anonymous) 2015-09-11 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Janet didn't really know why she had to train in New York in order to help form the West Coast Avengers, but whatever. It was an excuse to train under some of the best heroes in the world - no way was she missing that!
Although she definitely could do without the Jersey jokes. Like, everyone was in on it, seriously.
It was getting old.
"Oh come on!" she finally snapped one day as they were getting patched up in the tower after a fight. "It's literally right next to New York! And you guys are the ones with all of the villain problems anyway! Name one," she challenged, "one thing New York has that Jersey doesn't!"
Tony opened his mouth, but Daredevil cocked his head and spoke first, "Well, there's the alligators."
The room went silent.
"Guess you guys don't have those, yeah," Clint added, looking thoughtful. "One point for Jersey I guess."
"Make getaways a lot safer," Natasha pointed out.
"Could actually catch some villains too," Steve added, "instead of just, you know, pieces."
Janet looked around in confusion as the gathered heroes shuddered. What the hell? They couldn't mean - "Alligators in the sewers?" she asked, voice heavy with derision. "That old wives tale? Come on," she whined, "yes I'm The Wasp, but I'm not actually as stupid as a bug, okay?"
"I didn't believe it either kid, trust me," Sam, who was from D.C. and sensible, interjected. "But what I saw..." He shivered.
What. The. Fuck.
"Haha," she replied, "very funny." And the matter was dropped.
Until Spiderman dropped in for some help analysing something, costume torn nearly to shreds. Those gashes looked like they were from claws -
or teeth, Janet thought with a shudder.
"Sewers?" Bruce asked, antiseptic ready to go.
"Oh yeah," Spiderman answered, "Curt and the boys must be having a bad hunting season - nearly ate me this time."
"Curt?" Janet had to ask.
"Big one with the brown patch over his left eye," the young hero replied. "Looked like a Curt, so I named him."
She just had to ask, didn't she?
"You need to stop doing that," Tony chastised. "One day you won't be so lucky and you'll be just another number in the alligator victim statistic."
It was time for training, so Janet didn't catch the rest of the argument. But later that night she looked up those statistics, and they made her blood run cold.
"Not real, Janet," she whispered to herself, "not real."
Only over the next month the heroes and vigilantes she teamed up with avoided sewers like the plague instead of the viable escape routes they were, and she'd even gotten one of those famous Captain America Lectures when she tried to hide from a doombot in the sewers during one battle.
What the hell. Seriously.
..... Could it be true?
It all came to a head three weeks later, when they had to run through the sewers to track down a bad guy. He was from out of state, which is the only reason he'd tried the sewers she guessed, since the other native villains avoided the sewers more than the avengers did.
It certainly looked dark and dank and deep enough to hide an alligator.... or several.
Something moved.
..... we're those, green scales?
Janet flew up and out, soon as she could. In the cold open air she grabbed Sam's shoulders and nearly cried, "Oh my god, you were RIGHT! There really are alligators in your sewers - oh god I wanna go home, I wanna go home right now!"
"Whoa whoa," Sam tried to calm her. "What happened?"
"I saw it!" Janet yelled. "It was huge and scaley and ugly -"
"Woah bra, harsh."
Janet screamed and jumped, which for whatever reason set Clint, Daredevil, and Spiderman collapsing on each other, laughing hard enough to nearly fall over. She ignored the idiots and turned around to see -
Wait.
.... What?
"You - you're -"
"Turtles," the one in purple supplied.
Janet felt faint.
"We were just gonna tell ya Raph cornered your guy," the purple one continued, turning to Steve. "He and Leo are dropping him off at the station now."
"Thanks Donatelo," Steve replied. "Sorry about Wasp - she's new and actually believes there are alligators in the sewers."
"Rumours lady!" The Orange one protested. "Seriously, why do people buy into that crap?" He continued as he and the other giant turtle hopped back into the sewers.
"I don't know Mikey," could be heard as they got farther away.
Janet rounded on her so-called "teammates". "Oh, thanks a lot guys - hilarious."
Considering the sight of two vigilantes and one ex-spy had now fallen into a pile on the street laughing and several other avengers not far behind, they obviously thought it was.
Sheesh, and she'd thought Daredevil was supposed to be the serious one.
New Yorkers.
