  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - i.e., prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art, vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

Gen, Matt centric, hiding illness

My favorite trope in fanfic is the "hiding illness/injury like an idiot" one. This one is even supported by canon! Matt gets badly injured or maybe just really sick. Instead of going to Claire or to a doctor, he thinks that he is totally fine and perfect, and that nobody's going to stop him from doing his Daredeviling, goddammit.

Eventually, his friends (Foggy, Claire, maybe Karen?) catch on. And they decide unanimously that they are going to keep Matt in bed and taking his medicine. This proves to be one of the most difficult tasks in the world, on par with bathing an angry cat.

Bonus points for:
-A fever that has to be cured by an ice bath.
-Multiple feeble escape attempts. Maybe he's just dragging himself across the floor by his fingertips going "It's okay, everybody, I feel great, no need to worry."

Matt would so do this though.

No offence, but an ice bath is not a good idea. The ice makes the body think it's freezing, so the body reacts with shivering to keep warm, which then raises the body's core temperature. A lukewarm bath is a better idea, but aspirin is probably best for fevers. If the temperature of an adult is consistently at 103° or over, then you could call for medical help.

I am not a doctor or any other type of medical professional, nor do I play one on tv, but I do know how to google.

And all of that said, I do think Matt would try to hide his illness, and I'd love to see a fic where Foggy and Karen try to take care of him. :-)
