Matt and Bruce Friendship

There needs to be a fic in which Matt somehow bonds and connects with Bruce and becomes his friend. At a time when Bruce is really pushing people away and needs one (besides Tony).

Just to illustrate some of their similarities:

Both of them lost a parent very violently as children.

Both of them grew up essentially orphaned.

Both of them two different sides to their personality, one of which is fueled by intense rage/anger issues and the other of which is mild-mannered and often underestimated.

Both of them are very reluctant heroes who don't want the attention and praise that goes along with what they're doing.

There's a lot of "Matt meets the Avengers" requests out there. I just think there needs to be a fic where, out of all the various Avengers, Bruce ends up being the one that Matt is closest to.

I like this idea. I've always thought they could be friends, if they would ever meet, but I find it hard to imagine how they would ever meet. I don't get the idea that Bruce goes out in public much.

Hmmmm... well it could be that he has an encounter with the Avengers and ends up in Stark Tower needing medical care. (But it would have to be set pre-AoU).
