I want a suits/daredevil crossover SO BAD. I'd love to write one, but I don't know nearly enough legal jargon to be able to handle it lmao.

(Do Matt and foggy find it funny how all the suits characters basically only talk in metaphors and cliches????)

They thought Karen would be the first to laugh at them and she'd lose, but she didn't. She didn't laugh at all, the first Christmas, or any of the following. Karen, it appears, doesn't find their little tradition funny AT ALL. It might be too much of an inside joke, who knows. The point is, she never laughs. She just frowns - Foggy says - and stares at them with faint disgust - Foggy insists - and then shakes her head and murmurs something that sounds vaguely like "I don't see what's so funny".

"Neither do I," Matt replies.

Foggy ends up inhaling part of his eggnog and laughing like a maniac. Only when Matt grins does Foggy realise that his - thrice damned, seriously - best friend roped him into losing.

Slightly inspired by Daredevil #17 and Secret Wars.

So, let's imagine a scenario in which Foggy dies for some reason. Matt is devastated. So, in hopes of maybe making him feel better, someone (Karen? an Avengers? Stephen Strange?) tells him of the Everett Multiverse theory and that there's bound to be a universe in which Foggy is alive and he and Matt are happy.

Due to shenanigans - or maybe on purpose? - Matt ends up jumping through several universes. In each new one, he tries to find out what has become of Franklin Nelson.

Who does Matt meet? Foggy from the Spider-Gwen universe? 616!Foggy? Foggy who never went to Columbia but chose Harvard instead and never met Matt Murdock? Foggy whose Matt died? Foggy whose Matt never became Daredevil? Foggy who's absolutely in love and happy with his Matt because nothing even remotely bad ever happened to them?

How does Matt react to all these different versions of the same person? And more importantly, does he come back to his own reality or does he stay in one of the alternate ones?

Slightly AUish, obviously, since canon Matt does know how to swim, but I'd like to see a story where he doesn't (hey, there's lots of adults who don't, especially ones who might've grown up poor with no access to a public pool and/or no parents who could teach them or enroll them in a class) and therefore nearly drowns when he gets thrown into the water as Daredevil that one time. Foggy, when he hears this, is understandably not pleased that 'You fight close to the DOCKS, Matt, the effing DOCKS, when you don't know how to SWIM?!' - 'Look, I don't get to *tell* them where they do their smuggling-!'

...soo, Foggy drags him to the pool as soon as he looks halfway presentable in a pair of swimming shorts. Matt is obviously not very comfortable with the entire situation (and, to be honest, Foggy is slightly pleased that he for once might be *better* at something physical than Matt is...) Bonus points for splashing shenanigans, overcoming of embarrassment for feeling like it's a failure for not knowing something so "basic", both of them ending up enjoying themselves (and maybe some undercover daredeviling when there's some rather uncool people starting stuff at the pool as well, idk) - or combine it with that earlier prompt and let them both be at the beach, I'm happy with anything.

Just Matt, Foggy, swimming trunks, and splashing about, I want a summer fic, please? XD

Ahahah, I could see it as a little blurb consisting of the whole Harry Potter gang at a giant Weasly family dinner or something, and everyone keeps asking who this sour-looking guy in the suit is and why he keeps muttering "shot me, can you believe it, crazy woman *shot* me, and yeah, of *course* they could patch me up at Mungo's, but how am I supposed to *explain* re-appearing in the Muggle world *now*?!" *groans and catches some sort of flying pastry morosely out of the air* "And I *liked* working in a place where everything made *sense* for once..."

Huh. The first parallel that comes to mind is maybe they'd face the same prejudices as trans* people? Like, "c'mon, it's either or, none of that in-between bullshit, you are what you're born as!" and people perceived as Doms who sometimes sub are treated like freaks who 'voluntarily' become something weaker, and people perceived as subs who'd also sometimes like to dom are treated as 'having ideas above their station'?

Oh, I know and love that pic! (and I'm convinced he's wearing extra-thick thermal underwear under that suit, otherwise no way he's smiling! XD) Bonus points in that fill if Foggy already knows about his powers and they can have a 'proper' snowball fight, including ninja shenanigans!

Ooo, can matt meet a foggy where everything went wrong? Like end of the world wrong and foggy is all on his own, matt offers to bring foggy back to his universe but foggy doesn't want to feel like a replacement for matts 'real' foggy.

Foggy calls him "Matty" sometimes. It makes Matt think of his father.

OP: Ah, I just re-read them and I like what you added with Miriam. It's so awful for the nuns to say things like that to about a kid, but it's sadly something I've known to happen.

OP here, this is an awesome idea, I had been thinking that Foggy was feeling lonely and isolated at uni so thats when he first created Matt (hallucinations and stuff usually start to show up around college age), but God if Mat used to be a real person, and Foggy couldn't handle his death, thats actually even better.

I kinda want Stick to be hallucinatory too, as in, when Foggy created Daredevil he realized Matt would have needed training to he retcons in a mentor figure.

AU where Matt became a boxer to follow in his Dad's footsteps. He's still daredevil, but now he has a good excuse for all those injuries he keeps showing up with. Foggy is his lawyer, Karen is his agent, Claire is the ringside nurse who pointedly does no ask questions when Matt shows up with injuries she knows he didn't get in the ring.
