Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-22 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
talk to me about this idea, OP, because what if.

what if, roughly, I don't know why, but let's say that a couple of years down the line, Matt runs into something Bad Enough he can't handle it by himself. He doesn't have the a) money, or b) manpower, or c) whatever else that it would take to solve Problem X.

(new player on the scene? new, even more alien drug causing havoc in the city at levels just below what would draw official Attention? who knows)

"don't do it," Foggy says, and "how in the name of fuck is this a good idea," Karen says, but Matt is running out of options.

So he goes to see Fisk (does Murdock go? Does Daredevil? I have no idea, but in this vague beginnings-of-a-story I've got here I think that not everyone knows who Daredevil is, but Matt isn't quite so worried about his identity. He figures, hey, at this point, things are so bad that I'm willing to owe these murderers a favor. (not killing. killing is off the table. but. Matt's hands aren't clean, y'know? and straits are - for whatever reason - DIRE.)

And surprise surprise, Fisk admits that he's recognized the problem - whatever it is - and he's willing to help. "My fiance needs a bodyguard," he says, for a couple of days - and Matt's the most talented and dangerous person Fisk knows, honestly, so there you go.

like. that kind of a direction, perhaps?

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-22 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
OP - I'm liking where you're going with this, potential author anon. :3

Because Vanessa is a really strong, interesting woman. And I think Matt would get along with her really well, despite himself.

And meanwhile, behind his back, she and Fisk would be like "Oh my god, he literally just walked right into our open arms, what an idiot."

But then they realize, after y'know, actually getting to KNOW this annoying idealist beyond their business agreement, what a walking disaster Matt is. And then, whoops, they've actually developed.... feelings..... for him, when the fuck did that happen?!

y/n?

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
What if the big betrayal is he hears Fisk and Vanessa discussing what they're going to do to Matt's loved ones in a very unspecific way that sounds vaguely threatening, and then they go something like "and then we'll take care of Matt" etc and Matt immediately assumes they're going to abduct/murder him and his friends and oops, nope, turns out Fisk and Vanessa were actually making arrangements to keep them safe because they actually do care about Matt, but they're just so creepy he's honestly been expecting them to fuck him over and he immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion?

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-23 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.... oooh, maybe he hears their heartbeat and catches them in a "lie" of some kind, and he doesn't call them on it, because he knows they're lying/anxious but doesn't know about WHAT yet, and he's trying not to panic even though he feels like the rug has been pulled out underneath him (because once they all got past the posturing Matt can give them credit for being pretty blunt/honest with him). So then he listens in on their conversation and hears (whatever) and and and his brain just kind of needs to do a reboot because they lied (what did you expect, Matt?) and they used him (stupid stupid STUPID) and they tricked him into thinking they actually cared and now he's put everyone in danger and - (hold power button to shut down and restart) *beep*

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

DA

can u imagine, fisk and vanessa come looking for matt after and foggy and karen greet them at matt's door like a couple of the most pathetic bouncers ever, like:

karen: *fake smile* "no. nope. you can't come in. matt's not taking visitors right now."

and fisk is like: "we know he's home."

and foggy is like (terrified, but he is going to protect his friend, damn it!): "yeah, but i know that you know that matt heard you coming from a block away, so if he wanted to talk to you he would have answered the door HIMSELF. goodbye."

and then they slam the door in fisk's face, like it wasn't the most suicidal thing he's ever done (because HOLY FUCK that guy is Huge). foggy has matt's back.

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
OP - Yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. Foggy and Karen did not support that weird relationship AT ALL but they'll be damned if they don't show a unified front to protect Matt from The Enemy.

Ain't nobody fuck with my clique, ain't nobody fresher than my motherfucking clique, etc.

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

Y/Y

"I hope I don't offend," she said, "but you're not a very good liar, you know."

Matt refocused on her (he'd been listening hard, for sirens: you didn't hear them in this part of the city) and suppressed the urge to back up. He was almost sure she was looking at him. "No," he agreed.

"Is it because you're blind?" she asked, and that was - not what he'd expected. Foggy was the only other person who spoke to him so bluntly about that, and it felt wrong to think of Foggy, here. He laughed because he knew she was watching him, and he didn't want her to think that she'd found a weak point.

“Probably,” he said. “I hope that doesn't bother you.”

“No,” she said, thoughtfully.

OP - Also, but can you imagine the first time Matt gets injured on his new job? Nothing like protecting a man's fiancé to get on his good side.

Also, also: "No no, it's fine, it's only a little blood, I'll just meditate through it."

".... You've been STABBED."

*SLAMS. FISTS. ON. TABLE. REPEATEDLY*

Yes yes yes yes!!!

And then they get his armour off and see all the scars and recent sutures and it's fucking horrifying because the first thing out of Matt's mouth is "No hospital" and then, "No pain killers."

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-23 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course no painkillers, because he's still waiting for them to fuck him over, right? He needs a clear head. And he's trying to get away just about as hard as he can - ("It's fine. I'm not taking the subway, I'm walking, nobody's going to see me. It's not a big deal. Hospitals have to report this shit. No hospitals." and finally "you've done worse to me yourself, let go.")

was vanessa aware of just how badly fisk's beaten Matt before?

and fisk is wildly uncomfortable (in the way that you are when somebody you tried to kill sort of saves ur fiance from getting stabbed) and he's like "that was...an error. i. regret my actions," and Matt is a little loopy from blood loss, probably, so he's like AHAHAHAHAHA eff all of you i'm leaping home across the rooftops right now.

and vanessa's like no, no, you don't get it, we don't mean "hospital," we mean "a doctor can come here if you want, sit down, let it get handled."

mostly because i want to include the scene where matt has always hated hospitals even when he wasn't worried about dodging the police and their pesky questions, but that's because hospitals for poor people in rough neighborhoods are nightmares. matt never understood, until now, that "medical care" didn't have to mean screaming people and crying people and dying people and basically the worst kind of sensory overload? cue angry pissed off "i feel REALLY GOOD about receiving quality medical care but am angry about this display of wealth and privilege damnit"

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-23 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
OP - Yes. This. All of this. A+

Vanessa's take on it is interesting to me, because Fisk is honest-with-ommisions to her. Like, "Yeah honey, I blew up those Russians." but he didn't tell her he was working with them. And I doubt he told her about crushing someone's head with a car door, or the specifics about how things "get taken care of," etc.

Granted, Matt gives as good as he gets. He's broken bones and tortured someone and put people in comas, so. There's that.

But, y'know. Elena and Ben would probably come up in conversation....

re: The wealth. Vanessa strikes me as someone who has always been wealthy. She grew up with money and is used to having money and being around people with money. (And the power that comes with all of that). I'm sure Matt has opinions about that, but Fisk wasn't like that. He grew up poor just like Matt did, in the same neighbourhood as Matt. I think, aside from all the shit Fisk has pulled, that Matt would perceive Fisk as a sell-out for turning his back on where he came from and trying to change Hell's Kitchen because suddenly it's not good enough for him now that he's wealthy. And that's really abhorrent to someone who's still "down in the trenches" the way Matt chooses to be.

(lol, I love that we've decided to pair these 3 together because they really, really shouldn't like each other at all. Irreconcilable differences, and all that hahaha)

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-23 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
ARGH okay i'm just really having fun spitballing like this a fic will eventually arise but i gotta let it creep up on me quietly.

I agree: Vanessa grew up wealthy, Vanessa grew up around powerful people, this is the life Vanessa knows.

Vanessa is also the woman who a) owns a gun, and b) apparently thought nothing of agreeing to a date in an isolated place with a man she thought was dangerous, because hey, she brought her loaded gun with her just in case shit went wrong, it's all fine here. Which is...I mean, I don't know a lot of extremely wealthy people personally, but that particular set of choices says a lot about Vanessa, y'know?

I guess what I'm trying to say is my personal headcanon is that Vanessa has been hearing things like "I took care of (the problem)" or "My ultimate goal is to make things better," for years if not her whole life. She doesn't want to know the details - she doesn't need to know the details - maybe her mother or her older female relatives impressed upon her that women don't ask certain questions? Things get handled, though.

Matt and Fisk are both violent men and that's one of the reasons that Matt really likes sex with him, against his better judgement, because here is someone he doesn't have to hide anything from or lie to. It's difficult to actually hurt him; at first they wind up having rough, competitive sex that's almost like pissing matches, right?

(it is RIDICULOUS they should all hate each other AND YET)

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

(Anonymous) 2015-06-23 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
OP - (Me too, potential author anon! I love brainstorming). But - oooh, yes. I like that. Vanessa was raised to be a proper, classy lady. To be the rock in the relationship, but not to be a doormat. To be powerful in that way. I can totally see it. So while she values honesty, I think she probably also knows how not to ask questions she's not prepared to know the answer to. And to give herself that extra bit of protection ("Oh no, he never told me about that, I swear").

Oh oh oh, but let's talk about Matt for a second. He's always so in control and preoccupied with taking care of everyone else and you just know that he secretly just doesn't want to have to deal with any of it for a second. But he always has to be focused and reined in just to be able to function with those senses of his. So like, there is some serious potential for dom!Fisk & dom!Vanessa to just take care of a Matt who doesn't even know that that's what he needs. Like, the moment he's pinned down and can't move and just - oh.

Also, let's talk about the whole eventual "betrayal" of trust thing - can you imagine Vanessa eventually convincing him to allow them to work in sensory-deprivation into the bedroom? Because while Fisk fulfills the physical need to be dominated, Vanessa has probably extrapolated just how much sensory input Matt is constantly bombarded with. That's ultimate trust. More so than just a really good hate fuck.

SCREAMING

this is why i <3 the kinkmeme i have boring ideas and y'all have THEM kind of ideas a++

"I feel hurt," Vanessa said, one night. "This isn't holding your attention, is it?"

Matt swallowed hard and pressed up against her. "No, I -" love it, it's good, I wish that I could get more, I can't focus there's a siren three blocks away and a car alarm going off in the closest parking structure. "It's good, it's just - loud, tonight."

"Ah," she said. She ran a finger down his chest, over his sternum. It helped, a little; it was grounding, having one easy predictable touch to focus on. "I may have a solution to that...particular difficulty, Matthew."

"Somewhere else? It's still bad outside the city," he admitted. "Less familiar."

"Not quite what she meant," Wilson said.

"Traditionally, I'd suggest a blindfold," she said, and she sounded amused, and careful. "In your case, though - the principle holds: there are ways to shut out distractions. If you'd like."

It took him a second to realize what she was getting at. The disgusting part was that it hit him with the rush of fear and then, shamefully, heat - because to think of being able to let go, to focus on what was happening in the room and only here, in the room, that had a sick kind of appeal -

"No," he said, at first. "Ab - absolutely not."

"Calm down," Wilson said, taking two steps away from the bed immediately.

Couldn't stop thinking about the idea, though; he hadn't tried...things, like earplugs, since Stick. ("Crutches," Stick had said, scornfully. "And they don't really help, do they, Matty?")

(OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE)

Mmm yes, earplugs and professional-grade PPE work safety earmuffs over that. And scented candles or scented oils.

also: You KNOW Matt is probably in pain all the time. I bet Fisk would give REALLY good deep-tissue massages. Matt would be putty.

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal THOUGHTS?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
thoughts should probably read...uh...useless porn? idk.

The first night they invite him to dinner, he'd brought - oh, some Arbor Mist peach-wine-cooler thing with a bow on it, right? And Vanessa had no idea what it was, but she just knew it was gonna be disgusting. Fisk recognized it immediately, because he grew up like Matt did, he knows 7-11 wine mom coolers, so he's like "...all right, you wanna disrespect the food, fine, I'll bring out the good crystal, you're the one with the hypersensitive tastebuds."

(Look, if you ain't never got yourself buzzed on 7-11 wine, it. uh. it gets everybody wine-drunk way faster than they anticipate, and it will leave you with the worst hangover on god's green earth?) So Vanessa drinks it with them, and they're weirdly good sports about Matt's fuck-you, and Vanessa in particular wakes up with a hangover, a legitimate horrifying hangover, and she texts Matt pitifully about it.

Which, I think, is when Matt would go... "oh no" because here's this woman who got giggly and ridiculous last night before she tied him up and blew him until he couldn't see straight, and now she's texting him about how his gas station wine wine got her so hungover she can't see straight.

(Vanessa knows that the best lies are the ones based on truth, and it's all true: she might not have shown him how hungover she was, a month ago, but now? It's true, but it's the kind of truth that makes him stop angling to make sure he's the closest one to the nearest exit when he's in a room with her.)

**

So a couple of weeks after Vanessa first suggested "handling" his senses, Matt came to dinner. (Everyone understood this to be a night of truce, in the uneasy peace that they were making for themselves; at least, until about two in the morning, which was when Matthew usually woke up enough to get uncomfortable and leave.)

He was uneasier than normal. Distracted; unable to focus. She wound up raising her eyebrows at Wilson halfway through the meal: was there some disaster taking place, outside the penthouse, that might have set him off his game? but Wilson shook his head, so slightly: no. Their boy was just a mess. (Their boy, Vanessa thought: oh, dear.)

"What time is it?" Matt asked, finally.

"Quarter of seven," Wilson said. "If there's somewhere you need - "

"No," he said, faintly, and wiped his mouth with a hand. "I. No. I."

**

"Oh." She didn't meant to let it slip out, and she certainly didn't mean to let it slip out in such an - obviously hungry, intent tone, but. But Matthew had brought earplugs.

"You said. You'd. I'd." He licked his lips; his breathing was already visibly unsteady. "If you." He shook himself, and sniffed, once, and said: "I need to make a call by nine, and I want my hands free."

Wilson walked to Matt's side, slow and careful to telegraph his movements, and tilted his head up, and kissed him. Matt melted into it, which was a sign of just how serious this was: he rarely lost himself in physical affection before an orgasm. He came out of it a little steadier, it looked like: Vanessa met Wilson's eyes. It wasn't ideal; to think that he'd surprised them! but at the same time, he might not muster the courage again, and she did hate to say no to him.

"Yes," she said, and "yes," Wilson said, and Matt looked like he would fall down.

"Just," she said, softly, "just let us take care of you, sweetheart."

Matt buried his face in Wilson's shoulder.

**

He'd been half-hard before they managed to get him undressed, and it had been distracting enough that Vanessa had found herself without a concrete plan: it was so rare to see him so undone, this quickly.

Wilson had stepped in, though; he'd pulled Matt to sit on his lap, straddling his thighs, one arm tight around his chest to hold him up.

"Matthew," he said, close to Matt's ear, "what are your words?"

"Green yellow red," Matt said, automatically, "but will I need them if you two are just going to sit and stare all night?"

**

He'd started panting for air when he'd put the plugs in, and he'd clutched at Wilson's forearms like a drowning man, and she'd watched his cock swell and twitch even before she kissed him, started tracing careful and delicate patterns on his body. He was moaning on every exhale, and breathing fast: Matt was generally vocal in bed, but equally stubborn about covering his own mouth with a hand or a forearm, to muffle the noise. This time? She licked his pretty cock and all that self-control vanished. He twitched and yelled and clung to Wilson's hands and curled his feet under Wilson's shins like he was holding on for dear life.

It was extraordinary, and beautiful, and when she bit a nipple and he made the closest noise to scream she'd ever heard from him (including the time she'd seen him take a three-inch knife to the thigh), she tapped his thigh, three times, and pulled away. He was gasping like he was dying.

"What," he managed; she nodded and Wilson pulled the earplugs out. "I didn't tap out," he said. Slurred. Cracked. "I."

"I did," she said, and cupped his face with her hands.

"What did I -? No, I can do better," he said.

"You're doing so well already," Wilson said. Matthew groped behind him, caught Wilson's head, leaned back for a kiss; there was a shock. He so rarely initiated physical affection: oh, Vanessa thought. We have you, sweetheart. And then, more troubling: and I want to keep you, I think.

**

She brought him water.

His hands shook; Wilson helped him drink a cup, and kissed him again, and bit at his throat.

She straddled Matt, angled him into her body; he lasted less than two minutes.

**

She passed him his phone at quarter to nine. He'd slumped into a dozy half-sleep, curled up on the big bed, and when she reminded him, he jerked to attention. "Oh," he said. He called a number. "Yeah, it's - it's fine," he said: he didn't sound quite so slurred, anymore.

**

It was the first night he didn't leave in the middle of the night.

I am torn, anon! do we play like "matt thinks Vanessa and Fisk are going to finally go after the people he loves"? or do we play like "matt thinks Vanessa and Fisk are angling for him to be their tool?"

Don't get me wrong, I love a good "matt loves karen & foggy more than he loves himself" kind of plotline, but I also think that matt has really strong feelings about daredevil as the protector of the community, and if he thought V & F were planning to pervert that, well.

like. Fisk framed him once, right? But if he thought that they were somehow setting him up to play an integral part in (some disaster), he would probably FLIP THE FUCK OUT. idk?

YES.

The first time Fisk puts a hand on Matt's throat it's just meant in an admiring kind of way (and he doesn't even squeeze that hard really), but Matt immediately gets a rush from it and goes completely boneless and they're all like: "wut" but then: "yaaassss"

Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

NO. NO (and by that i mean: yes)

WHAT IF Matt overhears them talking about "collaring daredevil" (and it can be a nudge nudge, wink wink on that silly headline about Daredevil Collaring Fisk), and Matt thinks they're making fun of him and want to control him and use him as their own personal tool...

But they're actually talking about LITERALLY collaring him. Like, getting a collar for their sub, because they've totally picked up on how pliant Matt gets when Fisk puts his hand around Matt's neck and they want to play with that some more and Vanessa wants to see a collar around his pretty throat and to see Wilson pull him around by it.

what if???
