I read it that way at first too, and while there might be a thread of truth in that theory I think it's also likely that he left it in Matt's apartment to guilt trip him. He probably did leave because of a mix of both (shit, he's getting attached, shit, I'M getting attached, this isn't good) but he also knew that Matt wouldn't fall off his radar completely. He knew he'd be going back to him some day, and Stick strikes me as the kind of person who wouldn't leave anything to chance. So he kept the bracelet as a reminder to himself that attachments are dangerous, and as a tool to use to control Matt later on.

Let's be real here, Stick has probably been right where Matt is with the whole abandonment issues thing, but he's hand longer to cope with it. It just happens that his way of coping is to be a complete dickwad to everyone around him. Matt is on that path, tbh, considering how hostile he can be at first to people he doesn't know, and even with how emotionally detached he appears even to his friends.

Yeah, that was my reading exactly. Though I'm torn between whether Stick would actually acknowledge this to himself, or if he's in denial and convinced himself that he actually did leave because Matt was getting too attached. On the one hand, he said getting in touch with your "deep down feelings" was a part of his whole ninja philosophy, so deluding yourself seems like the kind of thing he would try to avoid, but I'm not sure he always practices what he preaches. The mere act of him keeping the bracelet for sentimental reasons is already a betrayal of his own philosophy.

I also had a similar reading (and am the OP). He left the bracelet not maliciously, just to signal to Matt, "Okay, maybe I was a little attached too, and I fucked things up, but I can't possibly admit it because I'm as emotionally fucked up as you are."

Fem!Foggy is totally fine by me! I was hoping for Matt as the father when I wrote the prompt and I was thinking Foggy probably knows that Daredevil/Matt are the same person, but I don't really have a preference as to whether Foggy knows or not about Matt being Daredevil. Either way is a win-win for me and I kind of wrote the prompt thinking someone could go either way. Hope that answers your friend's questions. ;)

Each character of Daredevil has the same five main emotions (Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, Disgust) guiding them, but how do all the unique group dynamics play out inside their heads?

Does Fisk's anger lurk in a corner until he walks up and smashes the entire console? Is Karen's magic combo Joy and Fear? Is Foggy's Joy as headstrong as Riley's? What the fuck is going on in Matt's head?

doing some ideal research and if we take Foggy's comment about his 'Irish Ass' seriously well.... Hells Kitchen is historically an Irish-American neighbourhood with a couple of sizeable Irish Mobs/crime groups that were situated there.

Keep in mind it that sexist attitude was prevalent in the comics for just about any hero from the silver age, and DD's been around for over 50 years now. All the male heroes were dickish to most of the normal women in their lives, and even a lot of the female superheroes magically lost their powers and agency when a man needed to come save them. If a hero had an older run, it was most likely sexist, the only question was HOW sexist. The newer runs for heroes are all changing, and thank god, but build 50+ years backstory into a hero by various male writers and you're going to get that bullshit no matter where you look. It doesn't make it right, but DD isn't a new character and from the series it looks like one of his biggest faults (which also exists in most of his comics runs and is often acknowledged by Matt in the panels) is arrogance, or the belief that he can achieve something on his own, that he can control a situation with haha NO, he ends up in trouble a lot. Take note, netflix DD doesn't react that way towards only women, but people in general, young, old, male, female, doesn't matter. For me, the best thing about the series is that Matt actually acknowledged in the first season that he couldn't do the DD gig alone, that he needed a support system, and who does he bare his biggest, shameful weakness to? KAREN. So much better than comics Matt, tbh.

HAHA OH YES, Foggy Nelson grabbing Matt by the ear or the necktie and dragging him into the other room so he can stage whisper death threats at Daredevil about ensuring Matt's safety. \o/

My life has become allllll about Matt Murdock finally allowing others to take care of him, because that little shit is awful at taking care of himself. This is what my life has been reduced to, pouncing on fics that give ME some gd closure with respect to this muffin having friends who care about him, or they would if he gave them half a chance.
