I once wrote an incredibly terrible songfic with the lyrics to Taylor Swift's Love Story overlaid to it so.

Oh man. "Chasing Cars". It wasn't a song for my first OTP - I mean, that song is from 2006, I was in fandoms for YEARS by that point, but definitely the first song who made me go "this fits my current OTP, yes good".

And currently? "Not With Haste" I suppose.

Ha! Wow. You know, up until this part I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of these two possibly coming to some kind of truce but....

I don't know enough about the US, but yeah, the Old Continent does have cases like that. Prosecution arguing that the victim consented to sex so it cannot be rape. Consented to sex with a different person than the one they actually had sex with? PFF, the victim wasn't aware of the partner's identity until AFTER the act, prior to that they were all for the sex, so the consent was freely given, case closed.

Shit jurisdictions are shit, basically. This makes me as mad as R v Bree and the dumb "drunken consent is still consent" because WOW HOW ABOUT NO.

Author-anon here, and glad you enjoyed it! I have a few other scenarios in mind (including all of the bad guys being utterly perplexed by Daredevil's trash talk) and just have to come up with the puns to go with them.

It's funny though, because this actually could headcanon really well? Like, in my experience, people who enjoy puns tend to be people who are really interested in the sounds of words and in finding how similar sounds apply to words with really disparate meanings, and then finding ways to juxtapose those words against each other in amusing ways. So Matt, who had to learn new ways to listen to sounds after he was blinded, could totally have developed an interest in puns as a coping mechanism. And Foggy and the others may complain, but he knows that deep down they find his cleverness and dorkiness somewhat endearing. If it were ever really a problem, he would know it before they, like Stick, left him.

...Now I need to find puns for BabyPunster!Matt to say to Stick. Hmm...

OR, somebody takes Matt back to their apartment where there's a secret audience of one or more people waiting to watch and/or take creeper video with their cellphones. Matt knows they're there, obviously, but he can't let on because they're quiet and it's not something he should be aware of. Does he let it happen or make excuses to gtfo?

I bet you someone has tried to grope him on the subway before.

yes, or Matt trusting his partner enough to allow himself to be tied up and gagged, and then his partner leaves for a moment and tags out with someone else who wanted to screw Matt but Matt had turned him down

Some how, Matt, Foggy and Brett end up looking after a baby.

Bonus if Karen just sits back and laughs her arse off.

This hits ALL of my weaknesses. All of them.

So the only way for Matt to save his best friend's life is to fuck up his only friendship beyond all reason and make his best friend want to leave him? Oh, Matt, why does life hate you so much and why do I love it that it does?

The subway car is crowed and Matt is pressed up against so many people that he can't tell whose hand it is.

Does he freeze, or call attention to it? Does someone see and try to help him? Does Matt get molested in plain view of everyone but no one notices?

So Wesley Fisk instead of Richard Fisk? I'm only okay with this if it's AU from comic canon.

Actually, no. I thought about it a bit, and a really depressing, angsty fill would be great. Being named after his father's best friend would be just another brick in the wall...

Nope, but something about this one just rubs me the wrong way. It would be interesting if another char noticed that Foggy seems to be preventing Matt from making friends and comes to that conclusion.

In other words, Matt has the same experience as everyone else on the subway?

I am interested in this, and may do something... It is likely to be Matt/Karen, though, and dark. Would OP be OK with that?

That's a really interesting observation to make. It makes a lot of sense too, considering communication is 90% non-verbal. Matt can't gauge how a person is reacting to a joke from their body language. He can't see their grins, their anticipation, where their eyes are being directed, so doing a long winded joke would be very hard thing to do.

Is it Chucklevoodoos? Because this prompt definitely made me think of them.
