  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

Matt doesn't have more friends because Foggy doesn't allow it

Everybody assumes Matt is an introvert, that he doesn't make friends because he doesn't want friends, but it's also easy to see Matt really wants to be close to people. Exhibit A: Karen becomes one of Matt's two 'friends' pretty quick, even though she's just a client at first and lies to him.

WHAT IF all those years he was at uni or was an intern, Matt was actually trying to have friends and be a friend to other people but Foggy was friend-blocking Matt left and right. Maybe a tiny part of it was because Foggy has had a thing for Matt since the beginning, but maybe a larger part is because Foggy is ultra-protective of Matt and thinks the only person worthy of Matt's friendship is, well, FOGGY.

Maybe Foggy hasn't had a lot of people really love/accept him in an unconditional way before, Matt is the first, so he's terrified of what will happen if Matt ever leaves him and he subconsciously starts insulating Matt or just trying to keep him to himself. I'm sure he'd have the best intentions and want the best for Matt, but then again Foggy has basically built his entire life around Matt in a lot of ways, and maybe every time Matt gets close to someone (really close, not just having sex but that guy who Matt start inviting to the Matt&Foggy nights out, the one who starts guiding Matt or doing Foggy-type things for Matt? The one Matt starts talking about all the time? FUCK THAT GUY. AND THIS OTHER GUY. AND THAT WOMAN oh wait she's already leaving on her own okay... BUT FUCK THE NEW GUY, NO, MATT ALREADY HAS A BFF, THE POSITION IS FILLED, MOVE ON, BUDDY...

No, that's not quite right. But I feel like he'd say something along those lines?

I am 100% down for Foggy being super protective of Matt and his friendship.

Nope, but something about this one just rubs me the wrong way. It would be interesting if another char noticed that Foggy seems to be preventing Matt from making friends and comes to that conclusion.
