Throughout the next week, Karen kept asking him questions about how he and Daredevil had met (he rescued Matt from being mugged), what they did on dates (listened to music) and when she could meet him.

"Why," Matt asked.

"Because I want to make sure he's good for you," she explained. "You're family. I want to make sure he's taking care of you."

Matt blinked. His eyes looked a little wet in the light.

"I'll ask," he said finally and Karen smiled at him.

"Great," she said. "Let's do dinner on Friday?"

"I think," Matt said cautiously, trying to remember his Friday plans,"that should work."

"I told Karen I'd ask my fake boyfriend to come to dinner Friday night," Matt said as soon as Foggy picked up the phone. "Help"

Foggy laughed for about five minutes straight. Matt measured; he had very good time sense.

"I told you, you should have just told her," Foggy said.

"Don't start with me," Matt snapped. "This is all your fault. Where am I supposed to find someone to pretend to be Daredevil by Friday night? It's Monday!"

"I panicked! What was I supposed to do?"

Matt paced around his living room.

"You should have said anything but that!" He sighed and slumped onto the couch.

"I don't know how long I can keep putting this off," he said wearily.

Foggy was silent for a long time and Matt was reminded of the gulf that existed between them after Foggy had found out his secret. He swallowed, licking his lips and opened his mouth to speak.

"We'll figure it out buddy," Foggy said eventually. He sounded tired and Matt's heart hurt. The now familiar wish bubbled up, but he couldn't stop being Daredevil. The city needed him too much.

"Thanks Foggy," he said finally and hung up.

Claire should totally be the annoyed editor! XD

Oh GODS. But imagine this as a crossover with the Avengers and suddenly Tony Stark just sweeps in with Bruce and Rhodey at each arm and just goes "I've got TWO, how's that for a bro-off, pff, losers".

OH MAN I'M SO SUPER TEMPTED TO DO THIS AND MAKE THE POWERPOINT AND WHAT AM I SAYING I'M DOING THIS.

Oh my god. I need this from Fisk's POV.

And to expand on that, how does he get used to Matt as a cell mate? I can't imagine he really understands what Matt goes through as a blind man- even with his senses it can't be easy, especially when everyone is out to get him. So what were Fisk's expectations of Matt before he arrived? Did he just assume Matt was faking being blind? Or did he think Matt had superpowers?

Ok so it seems that Matt is the designated bottom on this meme right now, and I've been in some serious want for Bottom Foggy, and if I have to prompt it myself then so be it!

I don't care what universe you want to go with, it can be Alpha/Omega, Dom/Sub, Slytherin/Hufflepuff some weird ass version of the three I literally do not care! Just give me some squishy adorable bottom Foggy and caring communicating top Matt ok? Ok. Thanks!

Oh it's coming! Gimme a day probably

I picture it being both. From what I've read so far, Frank and Matt are extremely violent towards each other, but where Matt always tries to fight fairly, Frank will cheat to win. It takes on an abusive note because Matt believes Frank is redeemable, and Frank will sometimes use that to manipulate him. Frank's also very good at taking advantage of Matt's moral insecurities and shaky mental health.

I can actually see Matt allowing himself to be trapped in the relationship, hoping that by staying with Frank he'd be able to save and redeem him. If anyone's going to help him get out of it, I picture one (or more) of the other heroes: maybe Jessica, Luke and Danny realize what's going on, or Spider-Man sees it and turns to them for help, or maybe Captain America picks up on it when he's forced to work with the two of them (Cap considers Matt a friend in the comics but he despises Frank- so finding out Frank's abusing Matt would lead to an epic beat-down).

And! You had grown women who'd never masturbated having sex with their...flowers? Like the clit was almost always a pearl? The hymen made an airtight seal across the top of ur vagina like triple strength Saran Wrap? I am Hugging myself I forgot how bad they were 😍

For serious though, it'd be terrible for Matt. I don't know if you read the sequels (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4238619 and http://archiveofourown.org/works/4235655/), but the prison staff and prisoners don't really give a damn about a disabled inmate. Especially one that they don't perceive as being actually disabled because of all the crazy ninja shit he did.

Like, I think another anon mentioned something along this line but, Matt would probably be ready to go out of his mind after the first week. Trapped in that place with people who want to kill him; constantly disoriented in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar noises with zero access to accessibility things like his cane or signs with braille; getting raped every night by his worst-enemy-turned-cellmate; limited options to work details because of his blindness; no access to commissary for a while; no privacy; nothing to do except brood.

Like, I'm picturing Fisk calmly reading a book or magazine or something and looking over and Matt is just kind of sitting on his bed with his head resting against the wall just kind of, well, he's always staring at nothing but it's like his mind isn't there. Because what else is there to do? The guy running the "library" laughed in Matt's face when he enquired about braille books.

Maybe Fisk would start trying to engage him in conversation or even reading out loud from whatever it is he's reading? And Matt would be like WHAT NO STOP TALKING TO ME but also like: yaaasss I can feel my brain rotting halp

Just when I thought my heart couldn't shatter into any more tiny pieces...

I can see him getting out of some of these without revealing his powers, but damn.

Another one I might incorporate is rape by fraud, where his partner makes an excuse to leave the room, then sends in a different person, thinking he won't notice.

Matt opened his eyes, and they hurt. He shut them again, and it hurt. Everything hurt. Even his hair hurt. They’d taken his mask off, and his head felt cold, exposed and vulnerable as he lifted it up. Every muscle whined and twitched in protest, telling him that he was absolutely drained of strength, and he felt sick, too. But he had to get up, had to get away; there was a vibration around him that screamed movement, and vehicle, and ultimate destination: hospital.

“Lemme out,” he slurred, aware now of the seatbelt and the people on either side of him, holding him in place in the back seat of a car. He tried to straighten up, and shifted his legs involuntarily. Agony shot through his left leg, concentrating both in his wound and in his stomach. “I’m gonna throw up.”

“We’re almost there,” the woman told him from his right, but ‘almost’ wasn’t good enough. Matt vomited all down his front, gasping for air and crying with pain at the same time. What had happened to him?

“Please,” he mumbled as soon as he could speak again. “No— ”

The car turned, and though it slowed, it was enough to set Matt retching again. They were driving steeply downhill, he realized, then turning again. Parking garage?

“No hospital,” he tried again. “Please.”

The car stopped. The door on Matt’s left opened and the man next to him released his seatbelt, then turned to release Matt’s.

“No hospital,” Thor told him. ”I have healing stones here that I will gladly use for the mighty warrior who helped me defeat the spawning ulardabr. But first, we must get you upstairs.”

He pulled Matt out of the car and into his arms like a young child, or a bride, and although Matt was close to passing out from the pain, he never quite did. He was vaguely aware that he was whimpering and retching a third time as they went up in an elevator, up and up and up. Then Thor laid him down on something soft – a bed – and asked, “How long have you been blind?”

Matt coughed and swallowed and managed to sputter, “What?”

“How long have you been blind?” Thor repeated patiently.

Unable to deny it now, Matt murmured, “Since I was nine.”

“Then the healing stone will probably not restore your sight. I am sorry.” Thor went away for a moment, then returned. He held something over Matt’s leg, and Matt heard a hard crack, then a softer crumbling sound. Something grainy poured into the wound, burning like salt, then like fire, and Matt screamed.

Roused from full sleep into a pleasant doze, Matt was aware that a door was quietly opening and there were soft footsteps. Then, only slightly louder, Matt’s burner phone announced itself.

“Foggy. Foggy. Foggy.”

Matt shot into full consciousness, but before he could roll over and start groping for the device, somebody else had pressed the button. After a moment of silence, Foggy’s voice came over just loud enough for Matt to hear.

“Matthew Michael Murdock, you’d better not be bleeding out somewhere, or so help me G-d …”

“Matthew Michael Murdock can’t come to the phone right now.” It was Clint speaking, keeping his voice low and turning away from Matt.

But Matt could still hear Foggy reply, “All right, okay, I understand. Uh … is he safe? Just tell me what you want me to do to get him back, I’ll do it. Anything. Just don’t hurt him.”

“Foggy!” Matt called, sitting up and reaching out, and Clint pressed the phone into his hand.

“Your friend thinks we’ve kidnapped you,” he said, laughter audible in his voice as he sat down on the side of the bed, and Matt pressed the phone to his ear.

“Foggy, I’m all right.”

“Matt!” Foggy cried. “What happened? Where are you?”

“I don’t know,” Matt replied. He asked Clint, who replied, “Avengers Tower.”

“Avengers Tower?” Foggy repeated. “Whoa, Matt, how’d you end up there? Wait a minute, was that one of the Avengers on the phone just now?”

“His name’s Clint,” Matt said, and Foggy actually squealed like a girl. “Clint Barton? Hawkeye?<7i> Matt, that is so cool! Who else did you meet? If I come pick you up, will you introduce me? Oh, G-d, I can’t pick you up. We’ve got an appointment with Mrs Zepeda in ten minutes, and I’ve been calling you all morning.”

Matt realized he wasn’t even sure where Avengers Tower was, only that it most definitely was not in Hell’s Kitchen. Foggy probably knew the address. Foggy was a great fan of the Avengers, but Matt had always been more concerned with his law studies than with celebrity superheroes. Maybe he shouldn’t have been. Slowly, he said, “I, uh, I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

Of course, Foggy picked up on his hesitation immediately. “Matt, what happened? Are you hurt?”

“I’m not hurt,” Matt said, realizing it for the first time since waking up. He wasn’t wearing his suit any longer, either. They must have taken it off after Thor had applied the healing stone, whatever that was. He remembered the agony, but now, when he stretched out experimentally, there was no pain. Nothing twinged or ached, not even the injuries he’d had before. “Actually, I’m probably even better than yesterday.”

“Are you sure the Avengers didn’t kidnap you?” Foggy asked. “Because it is not normal for Matt Murdock to stay out until ten the next morning and not be hurt. I thought you were dying in a dumpster somewhere!”

Matt laughed. “Foggy, I’m fine, really. And I’m sorry I’m late; I fell asleep, but I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

“You slept at Avengers Tower? No, don’t answer that, I’ve got to go, Mrs Zepeda just came in. I’ll see you when you get here, and you’d better tell me everything.”

“I’ll see you,” Matt said.

He ended the call, and with a smile in his voice, Clint remarked, “Well, so much for Daredevil’s secret identity, Matthew Michael Murdock.”

“Yeah,” Matt agreed. “So now you know everything about me; my middle name, my best friend’s name, I’m blind and I also suffer from motion sickness. Sorry about your car, by the way.”

“It wasn’t my car, and Tony invented a car-cleaning robot to deal with things like that.” Clint’s amusement faded slightly. “But since we’re apologizing, bro, I’m sorry I shot you in the leg. I saw that thing, just long enough to think I could hit it, but then it was gone again and I’d hit you instead.”

“It’s okay,” Matt said, because it was.

“I’m deaf, but I’ve got a Stark implant, I see better from a distance, my best friend is named Lucky, and my middle name’s Francis,” Clint added in a gesture of friendship.

Matt couldn’t help smiling at that, and extended a hand. “Nice to meet you, Clint.”

“Nice to meet you.” They shook, and Clint said, “I brought up some clean clothes for you, just in case you didn’t want to run around as Daredevil in broad daylight. You’re about my size, so they should fit. But if you really want to wear your suit, we had it cleaned, too. You can shower, if you want, and I can get you something to eat before I drive you back.”

The door to the room opened again and somebody else came in. “The warrior is awake?”

Lol I actually wrote the second one. I've been thinking about doing one from Fisk's POV but I'll wait until the first author anon does theirs though.

What an odd request coming all of the sudden and nooen is in town... mmm...
Im sure Matt and Kisten could take the child with them and that was just an excuse to get in touch with Foggy.

So I watched Sense8 on Netflix, and the thing that immediately occurred to me was that the premise of the show was just asking to be reworked into a multi-fandom crossover. I refuse to believe I'm the only one.

The prompt: sometime after season 1 Matt starts having weird hallucinations. This is very alarming, but ultimately not altogether a bad thing.

Some suggestions for Matt's fellow senseates, because I've clearly thought about this too much:

Sanya or Carlos Ramirez (Dresden Files)

Owen Grady (Jurassic World)

John Diggle (Arrow)

Burton Guster (Psych)

Parker or Alec Hardison (Leverage)

Jennifer Hailey (Stargate)

Patrick Kane (Hockey RPF), or another sports RPF character, because that would be hilarious.

We need at least a couple anime characters, I'm thinking, maybe Kuroba Kaito (Detective Conan/Magic Kaito)

And there's not enough female characters on this list, which is depressing me.

Pepper Potts, maybe? I think that could be interesting.

And some minor slayer character? Kendra? Faith? (Buffy - which I've never actually watched, but sometimes I forget.)

Kona "Kono" Kalakaua (Hawaii Five-0)

All of which is still way too US-centric, but I don't actually know of any fandoms set in, like, South America or Australia, let alone ones that could conceivably take place in the same universe as the MCU. (Maybe that one show with the female spy character with the colorful wigs? Did that take place in Australia? Or do I just think that because her name was, like, Sydney or something? Google is not helping.)

Anyway, I realize this is a lot to ask, but consider: I'm not convinced a cluster has to have eight senseates in it. Also, artfill?

Such as: Would Fisk even allow Matt to make friends with the other inmates? I'm sure there are SOME men in there who aren't creepy rapist-types who have a personal vendetta against Daredevil (Mac was just one guy), but Fisk seems very... possessive?

People are avoiding Matt right now because they don't want to get on Fisk's bad side for damaging his property, but what if they all just decide to not bother with Matt at all? He'd be so much more isolated than he already is and with only Fisk to have any kind of interaction with.....

Wow. My mind just went to a very grim-dark place. :-|

What if Vanessa comes to visit Matt? He didn't even put her on his visitor list but Fisk pulled some strings. What if Vanessa is as creepily possessive of Matt as Fisk is?

And consider this: Rikers has high turnover because it's only used for short term housing of inmates. What if some new guys are transferred in and don't know the rules about Matt and decide to beat the shit out of him? Matt would probably be able to hold his own, but that doesn't mean Fisk won't be pissed off that someone fucked this his property.

A!A: Haha, maybe! :D Or maybe it's just desperation mixed with the knowledge that this guy is good with kids. My best friend is friends with a woman I've met a few times, and one day that woman just called me and asked if I could babysit her daughter for an hour, and was like "wtf I've only met your kids three times in my life". It was a fun experience and I said 'no'.

But hey, Foggy's adventures in babysitting are up next!

Maybe he's even Raz.
