OP here.

I have only heard of Frank Castle third-hand through fandom--I've never read any of the comics or anything. So I would be interested to see either interpretation of his and Matt's relationship...or maybe both? I don't think that even Matt would stay in a relationship with someone who was only ever abusive, abrasive, and awful, so maybe Frank has his really really sweet moments...but also his really, really scary ones. And poor Matt isn't sure what to do, especially when Claire doesn't bat an eye at the injuries he gets from him, when Father Lantom doesn't respond with nearly enough indignation when Matt tries to allude to how he's being hurt, and when even Foggy seems to think there's nothing to be concerned about...

I am in love with this. Are you averse to Avengers crossovers? Or Young Avengers crossovers?

I am not the OP, but I would love this!

I was thinking of having Teddy be friends with Foggy (for REASONS) and Tommy needing a defence because some minor delinquency has come back to bite him and Kate being suspicious of Matt's injuries when they all consult and Billy having a Very Bad Reaction when her suspicions prove true, and Frank being teleported into the Sun just before his fist can connect with Matt's gut again, but as OP isn't a YA fan I will stow this for a later opportunity.

Not OP, but I would read that. You could write it anyway and post it on AO3 as an "inspired by" and link back to the prompt. That way a potential filler might see it and fill the way OP would like.

AS SOMEONE WHO LOVES THE YOUNG AVENGERS I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE A CORONARY FROM READING THIS.

also to the mention of people ignoring matt's injuries: yes. there are too many instances of people ignoring a victim's cries for help purely because their partner has a "sweet side" and doesn't constantly abuse the victim. no matter if frank has his good moments, he's still abusing matt in a way that makes matt fear for the next time he's in a bad mood. i've heard it said that an abusive relationship involves manipulation on both sides, but for the victim it's purely to avoid getting hurt/otherwise punished.

i feel like kate would definitely be the one to catch onto matt's situation first, considering her terrible relationship w/ her father as well as her status of sexual assault survivor. she'd just know.

Potential author anon would really like to write this but is having some issues (such as trying to work out a plausible way for Foggy and Teddy to be buds, because I'm now thinking of them being buds and I don't think I can live without it, anons) and I hate to hijack a prompt thread, but if anyone has suggestions about that it would be very much appreciated.

Foggy's parents are butchers and Teddy's family gets their meat from the store his parents run and so Foggy and Teddy were childhood friends before one of them moved and now, Teddy's back in town to try and reconnect with Foggy.

considering foggy's most likely around ten years older than teddy, maybe he took care of teddy while his parents were out?

You could make a thread about this on the discussion post, so we won't be filling this thread with brainstorming for a different story. xD

Maybe Teddy's adoptive alien mom married one of the Nelsons, so Teddy is Foggy's cousin or nephew or something.

I picture it being both. From what I've read so far, Frank and Matt are extremely violent towards each other, but where Matt always tries to fight fairly, Frank will cheat to win. It takes on an abusive note because Matt believes Frank is redeemable, and Frank will sometimes use that to manipulate him. Frank's also very good at taking advantage of Matt's moral insecurities and shaky mental health.

I can actually see Matt allowing himself to be trapped in the relationship, hoping that by staying with Frank he'd be able to save and redeem him. If anyone's going to help him get out of it, I picture one (or more) of the other heroes: maybe Jessica, Luke and Danny realize what's going on, or Spider-Man sees it and turns to them for help, or maybe Captain America picks up on it when he's forced to work with the two of them (Cap considers Matt a friend in the comics but he despises Frank- so finding out Frank's abusing Matt would lead to an epic beat-down).

yep, anon, that's exactly how it is, actually. matt doesn't want to give up on frank, frank sees this as an opportunity to push matt around and use his relatively fragile mental health against him. for god's sake there's a time where he restrains matt and tells matt the only way he can stop frank from killing someone is by shooting frank himself.

the gun he gave matt was unloaded, of course, but he only did it to fuck with matt's principles like an asshole. and yep, cap does hate frank -- he kicked the utter shit out of him one time purely because he found frank so repellant. personally i would love to see the other defenders coming to matt's aid, because i love the defenders and want to see more of them!

OP here, and I am also very here for involving Captain America. I'm not as fond of the other Avengers, and I don't know the Young Avengers at all, but. I'm here for Captain America.

I have some ideas for this OP. Would you be interested in a fill if it was an Omega/Alpha or mpreg universe? And involved non-con? If not, that's fine, but for some reason this prompt and discussion sent my brain spinning in that direction.

The story would focus on Matt/Frank, but would also involve quite a few other heroes, including the Defenders, Spider-Man and Captain America.

I'm okay with Alpha/Omega, but I'd rather mpreg not be heavily emphasized. Non-con is totally fine, as well.

Thanks for the reply OP! Sorry, I think maybe my story idea has veered too far away from your prompt. What I might do is break it into a series, that way the first part (which would be the part closest to your prompt) could be read as it's own story.
