FUck crap medieval, crap pseudo-17th/18th century is TEH SHIT. They were all the rage when I was a teen, those really, really bad Harlequins with purple covers that were published in the deep 80s. It was all half-dressed mysterious men with tragic pasts on horses, kidnapped maidens and heiresses, and the plot consisting of "I shall rescue you and then possess you" or "I shall kidnap you and then possess you" depending on whether our Tragic Male Hero kidnapped the lady or tried to save her. xDD
