Re: Danny Rand, Iron Fist

I'm still mad about Cottonmouth. He was such a good villain and they just ended him like nothing. It felt like disrespect, like how Alexandra went out in Defenders. It made sense for the plot, and I like that Elektra stepped up and took over, but Alexandra seemed like she'd only gotten to where she was through lies and manipulation, never actual getting her hands dirty. But Mariah taking over after Cottonmouth was killed, that was great. And the way Shades is pulling Mariah's strings, I hope Luke's second season will be better than the first. The first felt like it was mostly filler and pretty boring for me. I like Luke, he just isn't an exciting, dramatic character on his own. I'd rather watch the supporting characters on Luke Cage. And that was the same thing for me on Iron Fist. I don't find Danny Rand interesting. I wish I did.

Maybe people have had enough Hand nonsense now that they don't continue it in Iron Fist, but they probably will. I would love to see Madame Gao again. Even Elektra. I don't think they're ever going to pay for the CGI so we can get to know K'un-Lun or even the dragon. What we got is probably all we'll get. I wish they'd give us better reasons for thinking Danny is interesting besides the Iron Fist, though. Better, more mature characterization, something more relateable than his glowing fist. I really hope they skip the corporate intrigue or at least keep it to a minimum in IF2.
