I actually cringed through that scene because I thought it was super clunky and awkward. I get what they were trying to do but that was not the time or place to try to shoehorn it in. And it hadn't even occurred to me before but you're absolutely right, that it was over murders being covered up makes it even worse. This is not a petty crime that kid was committing. It's being accessory to murder.

Luke's point about Danny's wealth giving him the ability to look for other ways is absolutely valid, and Danny needed to hear it, but in the context of a superhero vigilante TV show, it was NOT unreasonable or out of line for Danny to be going after someone he saw working for the Hand, lowly grunt worker or not. Trying to make it a PSA moment about race was clumsy writing. And seeing so many people so gleeful about it just because they hate Danny Rand is pretty sad, tbh.
