This post is for prompts involving characters from Netflix's Daredevil.

Now that The Defenders prompt post is live, all crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go over there. Prompts only including characters that appear in Daredevil should still go here.

Rules:

General
1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. Respect others. If you don't like something, scroll on.
2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.
3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).
4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.
5. Prompts focusing on characters from other Netflix Marvel shows or the comics should go on their respective prompt posts, but crossovers with Daredevil can go here.
6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

Yes! This is the Frank content I'm here for. Weirdly protective Frank for the win. If he manages to not throw Matt into the Hudson, even better.

The line about Matt being tired (and Frank's consequent thoughts) is pretty chilling. Great job!

Also the last minifill promises lots of angst. Is Matt not caring about his job because he doesn't have one (we're after S2 and assuming he's not lawyering after Foggy left) or because his past came back to haunt him and he needs to lay low? Would he even have warned Foggy, in this case? Probably not. I see this better placed after S2, what do you think?

I think after season 2 is appropriate. He's cut off from Foggy and Karen and fairly isolated in life.

What do y'all think if it's sometime during the defenders series? He's learned about the undead ninja's, seen Electra come back to life but changed...

It's got to make him wonder about killing and murder and his role in all that. And since he's with Frank, he wonders why Frank started in this in the first place. Frank, who had a choice where Matt never did. Matt remembers how horrible it was to be forced to be a weapon and kill. He can't understand why someone would voluntarily do that to themselves, hence his original question.

I'm not sure about setting it in Defenders; yes, Matt would understandably be distressed, but would he really ignore Elektra? Even if she's changed, he's Matt. He can’t give up on her.

Unless maybe it's after the building collapses (he agreed to kill the Hand members, and while I think he could trick himself into not counting undead people easily enough, it could well make him think on murder). But he would have to survive somehow without being severely injured and brought to Clinton Church, so I don't know?

I liked the gang he's been involved with in the past idea.

The whole building collapse is problematic.

Regarding the gang, so we're assuming Stick's left him, he's what around 13 or 14 by this point, and he joins a gang? I could see that. I can see him trying to hide his blindness, offering to teach them parkour so they can get around better and evade the police.

Oh! Maybe he joins the Irish mob very briefly since they're in Hell's Kitchen and he is Irish. He never went after them in Daredevil Season 1, and in Daredevil Season 2 they were decimated by Frank. Except for Grotto, who maybe joined after Matt left. Did the Irish mob know his secret and just not out him unless he messed with them as Daredevil? Is that the one of the reasons he didn't?

I can see the mob using him to break into buildings for them, perhaps plant evidence or steal stuff. He's small so he can fit in places most people won't like dog doors or small bathroom windows or skylights. He's conflicted about the stealing and evidence planting, but the mobsters are nice to him, feed him, clothe him, and don't make him kill. they also insist on him getting an education so he's either homeschooled or goes to a private school.

How would he even get in with them. I'm thinking there's a scrimmage they're involved in, and the leader is about to be killed when Matt intervenes and saves him. Maybe he's hurt during the scuffle, he took a bullet for the leader, or some other thing, so they take him in and care for him.

I'd love to see someone expand on this idea.

I've never seen the Defenders, so putting it there would cut me out of further filling pretty significantly. There's a lot of drama and new characters there, though, so it would be interesting. If you guys want to go that way, I'll be happy to read it :)

Post-Season 2 definitely fits best if we want Matt already isolated.

But I was thinking that maybe some serious shit went down in the office, though. Something's going on with Matt, you don't bring up childhood murder trauma just randomly, so - something happened.

And I'm thinking maybe:

it resulted in a (yet another) giant argument that left Matt thinking he isn't welcome anymore, OR
it interfered with his friends directly, like people Matt remembers taking an interest in Foggy, following Karen, visiting the office and starting "friendships"... OR
they don't try to threaten Matt with following them, but threaten or blackmail Karen and Foggy about him somehow, OR POSSIBLY
Matt's just frightened and on the run from his friends (again) with little to no rational thought about it. Maybe they'll start hanging "MISSING" posters in 24 hours.

There's more where that came from, probably.

Do Foggy and Karen know about Daredevil? That's the big question to start with for me. There's a lot of factors to consider - like, you know, it's post Franks trial and his season one, clearly.

But we can always do some timeline fuckery if we really want to.

Anyway. I was just trying to tickle our collective imagination on what's The Plot. Take it wherever :)

I love all the ideas around being in a gang. That's also one of my favorite options, Matt not being just a victim and/or pawn, but also having done some shit on the streets.

I think he could have been recruited—slash—taken in just on account of being a small boy alone on the street night after night. I'm not sure about the 'insisted he gets education' thing, it seems pretty out there for a mob made out of gritty men who never got any use from their education themselves. But I'm willing to compromise here :)

But my biggest worry is this:

If Kitchen Irish took care of Matt and even raised him for a while, and then Frank came in and murdered them all? That would drive some serious wedge between him and Frank. I don't think he'd be able to easily talk with Frank, even if he could bring himself to forgive. Between the trauma of losing yet another family (even if enstranged) and the trauma of losing them by Frank, whom he clearly respects and (grudingly?) cares about, I think he would spiral.

I just think maybe that's a different story from this one.
