This post is for prompts involving characters from Netflix's Daredevil.

Now that The Defenders prompt post is live, all crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go over there. Prompts only including characters that appear in Daredevil should still go here.

Rules:

General
1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. Respect others. If you don't like something, scroll on.
2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.
3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).
4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.
5. Prompts focusing on characters from other Netflix Marvel shows or the comics should go on their respective prompt posts, but crossovers with Daredevil can go here.
6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

Prompts

I was going through old fills of old prompts and I found one that doesn't quite fit this prompt but goes close enough, I think?

Matt is blackmailed into doing things for Fisk (Daredevil kind of things, not sexual). Wesley decides that Matt is his (not in a sexual way either, at least not at first). Things happen.
There isn't Matt's pov, but I'd say it's not non-con. Probably dub because of all the context, but he doesn't seem to mind Wesley's attention.

About your prompt/fill though. The line about the not so safe refuge in the storm hit me and I had a flash of Matt going to Wesley after Foggy finds out and leaves.

Then I remembered that happens a few hours after Wesley tried to shoot the Man in the Mask. So that's that.

So maybe Wesley is already lost in his own game at that point and recognizes Matt while Fisk fights him. And maybe not shooting/missing him isn't a mistake at all.

Oh, coming to Weasley after loosing Foggy to his secrets hits hard. That would be quite something, wouldn't it.

Come to think of it, if Weasley doesn't get killed by Karen there's a good chance that he will become the only person in Matt's life after he loses everyone and everything in Season 2. I hope that by then Weasley (James?) is changed enough by their not-relationship to not use it to essentially remake him. I don't want Weasley to be evil, just, you know... Weasley.

There's a brilliantly written story a few rounds ago that was actually direct inspiration for this prompt, and it humanizes Weasley like nothing I've ever seen -

It's definitely different, but I think about that Weasley often when I write these fills.

About James recognizing Matt - I kind of imagine he would have known for a long time by then, maybe from the start or almost the start. I don't think there would be a giant confrontation when he figures it out; a lot of things go unsaid between them, it's not like he was betrayed by a friend. And Matt probably doesn't even know that he knows for a long time, what with cold and manipulative.

That isn't really a must, though - written well enough, honestly any time for Finding Out is good. It would go down VERY differently at different points in their not-quite-relationship, so there's a choice to be made there.

I have no trouble with Wesley finding out almost immediately (maybe he figures it out seeing Matt's scars), my only question is: why wouldn't he tell Fisk, at first, when he's still not so attached to Matthew?

I don't think he tells Fisk all that much about his 'daily duties'. He gets the jobs done; he doesn't report how unless asked. He takes care of the details; Mr Fisk is preoccupied with the Big Picture.

I think he might mention things like "I have eyes on the Devil" or other vague things that allow Fisk to make decisions but don't report on his employee's sex life. After all, he was already taking liberties getting into bed with one of the obstructive lawyers; Mr Fisk doesn't need this particular detail.

And, well, Weasley likes being irreplacable; in his line of work it's best to have this kind of job security. 'Secrets of the trade' are secrets for a reason. Especially his trade, where a personal touch is added into the mix. You can't learn the kind of job he does; you certainly won't learn it from him.

Does that work?

Oh. Also, it's probably very good blackmail material... should he ever need one.
