This post is for prompts involving characters from Netflix's Daredevil.

Now that The Defenders prompt post is live, all crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go over there. Prompts only including characters that appear in Daredevil should still go here.

Rules:

General
1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. Respect others. If you don't like something, scroll on.
2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.
3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).
4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.
5. Prompts focusing on characters from other Netflix Marvel shows or the comics should go on their respective prompt posts, but crossovers with Daredevil can go here.
6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

Prompts

Probably not surprising, but I wholeheartedly agree with your rant!
It's not about being ace, people's sex lives are no-one's business except their own. It's not funny to make fun of the adult virgin who, haha, can't get laid.

It's not even just incels.
Years ago, I met a girl online despairing about not having had sex yet. She was 18 years old and it seemed to be inconceivable for her to be missing that fundamental experience. She felt a loser and behind on life because she hadn't had sex at 18 years old. That's the kind of pressure society puts on people.
Which, obviously, makes young people also more vulnerable to predators/people taking advantage of them, since they HAVE to experience sex ASAP.
It's seriously sad. And yes, the jokes come from pretty much everyone.
There's a manga/dorama based on the premise that if you're virgin at 30 years old you get a superpower, bc it's so rare/absurd to be virgin at 30. What the hell

To pretend we didn't start rambling away from the prompt, I'll add that I can't wait to find out what brought Matt to accept to drink an enema! And what's going on with his creepy partner in general.

And Christ, a super power? For being a virgin? We entered the Absurdity Land, didn't we. And in Japan of all places. Although, maybe that's why it exists...? Maybe it's meant to be weirdly empowering or something? Japan has this hikikimori phenomenon. It's basically Japanese incels from before-the-incels.

They're sometimes called Japan's lost generation - men who were unable to secure a stable job and marry young (because there was an economic crash at the time), so they never actually started a life and don't even leave their rooms anymore. Less dangerous than incels, but more or equally tragic. There are state-sponsored programs for them now, with social workers visiting and trying to befriend them and lure them out of the house.

They spend most of their time reading manga and playing video games, so. Eh.

The manga I mentioned is a romance (Cherry Magic), the protagonist gets telepathy on his 30th birthday, I think. Then he starts getting closer to his crush, I suppose? (It's a yaoi.)

I know about it because in the j-drama version they added a secondary aroace character, so I saw some gigs. I was like "Oh!! AroAce rep!!" and looked it up, imagine my shock reading the plot :')
So I didn't watch it, but yeah. It exists.

Boy that's depressing. To put aro-ace representation together with mocking adult virgins... yeah. Not great.

I think the entire society would benefit from our media portraying more than one way of having a happy life as an adult. Even the "strong independent women (that are high-up employees in corporations, because that's the only staple of success and also come prop-up capitalism please)" only exist to be swept up into love by a handsome man in romantic comedies. Making all of their life choices and philosophy on how to be happy void and "not good enough, silly girl." I grew up on Disney movies and was never concerned with not having a boyfriend, simply assuming that love would just happen to me around the age 25 or so. And then we would marry, because, you know, Disney movies. I would be SO much healhtier as an adult if I internalized from the start that I have options for happiness to choose from.

Okay, I'm going to give you more of the weird sex story now. I promise there'll be hints for the dynamics there. Can I keep oversharing though? I like this :)

Yeah, aro and ace perspectives on life would really benefit all of society, allos included.
I get the Disney movies thing, and in that regard, I was so happy when Frozen had her protagonist NOT have a partner. Of course we still have the love story with Anna and Kristoff, but Elsa stays single and her most important relationship is her sister; I was over the moon.
Same for Moana, maybe even better since she didn't spend her life self-isolating due to trauma and fear.

By the way, if you're interested in an unsolicited suggestion for a show to watch, I'll never tire of recommending Koisenu Futari! It's the best AroAce rep I've ever seen in media, easily. Both the protagonists are aroace, and the story shows their way of going through life. It's truly wholesome!
