Daredevil Prompt Post #12

Mod Post | Discussion/Off-Topic Post | Writing Challenges
AO3 Collection | Fills: Completed & WIPs

All Rounds & Other Useful Links

This post is for prompts involving characters from Netflix's Daredevil.

Now that The Defenders prompt post is live, all crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go over there. Prompts only including characters that appear in Daredevil should still go here.

Rules:
  • General
    1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. Respect others. If you don't like something, scroll on.

    2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.

    3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    5. Prompts focusing on characters from other Netflix Marvel shows or the comics should go on their respective prompt posts, but crossovers with Daredevil can go here.

    6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - e.g. prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. When posting a fill, either add [FILL] (or something similar) to the subject line, or change the subject line to the title of your fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art and vids are all welcome.

Please post any prompts related to Season 2 of Punisher over on the dedicated Punisher prompt post, and put SPOILERS in the subject line!

A!A here: thank you!!!! I didn't know if anyone would see this but I am always happy at how many Stardust fans there are. I did see the movie first but I completely fell in love with the book. There's a graphic novel version of Stardust with all of these dreamy watercolor illustrations. My first copy ended up lost with my ex-boyfriend so I bought myself another.

This is probably more loose scenes than anything. I have two other scenes, including one I like well enough that I want to post all the rest of it, but I don't know quite where it's going yet.

Matt tries to fill the empty void with Peter Parker

(Anonymous) 2017-07-19 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Matt feels like shit after season 2 because Karen and Foggy stopped talking to him, Claire won't pick up her phone, and he can't find a job anywhere.

Matt is all like depression until he and spiderman team up then he starts this bond with peter parker almost like a father/big brother/mentor/uncle type thing and he starts to feel better like he actually has a family. it first was about daredevil and spiderman but becomes a matt and peter thing.

bonus points for foggy's/karen's/claire's reaction to this new bond
bonus bonus points for happy's/tony's reaction to this new bond

Re: Foggy/Matt or Foggy/Karen, Pushing Daisies AU

(Anonymous) 2017-07-19 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
op: i adore this so much. I love how really well you've combined the two worlds, and how you manage to convey both the spirit of pushing daisies and the personalities from daredevil while still maintaining your own narrative voice. This is super cool and you are awesome.

Gen/any, police dog loves Matt

(Anonymous) 2017-07-21 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Daredevil has a run in with a K-9 unit, but it's Matt who has to explain why the police dog seems inordinately fond of him.

Fill: Heather and Violet 2/?

On the proper side of the wall, Foggy Nelson was a well-liked barrister known for taking on a few too many clients that couldn’t pay. Fortunately, he was clever enough with loopholes that a richer clientele still came calling. He lived far from Wall and had a lovely flat with a housekeeper. He was nearly making enough money to hire a full-time secretary.

No one knew that many of Foggy’s luckiest moments in court came when he touched the glass sprig of white heather he kept in his pocket. Every single time the flower gave him just the edge he needed, he remembered the boy that had saved him from a poor decision.

Ten years after his first trip across the Wall, he was going back. His parents thought he was stopping for the night while traveling on business. No one had asked why a barrister was traveling with only a single valise. With more luck, no one would notice that his valise was hidden in his old bedroom.

Foggy’s own mother might not recognize the man walking through the markets across the Wall. He had put together a suit of clothing from odds and ends through the years of remembering the vivid colors from the marketplace. The bright blue jacket and navy trousers paired with a bottle-green waistcoat would be far too daring for the village of Wall, but in the market, he simply looked like a reasonably prosperous man.

After doing his best to look casual through several circuits of the market, however, he knew that his childish preoccupation probably had been very childish. Even if he had been able to find Matthew Michael again, there was little chance Foggy would have been able to free him.

“You’re looking for something that you haven’t found.”

Foggy whirled to find the speaker. A pale woman with blonde hair was watching him from a stall shadowed by a cloak pinned to the rafters. When Foggy stepped closer to hear her better, the cloak lengthened and seemed to form a tent.

“I might help you,” the woman said. She looked like a ghost haunting an elaborately layered black gown. “What are you selling?”

“I haven’t decided. I was trying to see if there was a man here selling flowers made of glass,” Foggy said. His white heather flower was still in his pocket, as always, because putting it on the blue jacket’s lapel had felt far too dangerous for such a gift.

“The charm-peddler’s flowers were mostly curses, you know. You’re better off not having anything to do with Stick. The world might be better now that he’s dead.”

“Stick is dead? What happened to his possessions?” Foggy blushed in the next moment, ruining his attempt at seeming callous, but the woman looked charmed instead of triumphant.

“I see,” she said. She pushed a stool out from beneath the rickety wooden table. “No one’s sure. There are far too many stories about what happened to Stick on the outskirts of town. No one found any other bodies near the caravan.”

Foggy settled onto the rickety stool carefully. The loud sounds of the marketplace seemed to fade when he leaned closer. “How many stories would be usual for a man killed near the outside of town?”

She smiled. “Two, probably. Bandits or a scorned client. Stick ended up with no less than seven. Six of them are all but impossible. The blind old bastard would never have been caught off guard by amateurs.”

“Um. Pardon, but he was blind?”

“He was blind, yes, but he was also a vicious fighter with a reputation for never being surprised. He was teaching that boy of his how to fight.” The woman stared at his face for several seconds before bending down to snag a wooden case from beneath the table. “You’re not looking to buy, I’d think. Did you meet that child?”

“I did.” Foggy studied her in turn. He couldn’t find cruelty in her gaze or bearing. “I wanted to free him.”

“I thought so. Perhaps I’ll be able to give you some hint.” She opened the case with a murmur of words and carefully drew a white porcelain teapot, cup, and saucer out of the black velvet interior. When she set the teapot on the table, the thin porcelain made a strangely loud thud.

The tall teapot had been stored on its side in the case. When she poured into the cup, however, black fluid spilled out immediately even though the case had been dry.

“This works best if I know something about you,” she said. She set the teapot back in its place and pushed the cup on its saucer toward Foggy. “It doesn’t need to be much.”

“My name is Foggy Nelson, and I’m—”

“A fool!” She glanced past him into the marketplace, gaze darting wildly, before focusing a fierce glare on him. “You can’t just tell the truth to anyone here. You’re lucky I don’t want to hurt someone that was kind to Matt.”

Foggy couldn’t disagree that he was a fool. He supposed that was what happened when he couldn’t decide which of four codenames he liked best. “How do you know I was good to Matt?”

“Call it a lucky guess and call me Karen.” She focused on him with a gaze that felt heavy. “If you want to know what happened to him, drink that full cup and then tell me what you taste.”

He rested his hand next to the cup. The strange drink was just as warm as if she’d went through the trouble to brew fresh tea. “What does this cost?”

“This costs you nothing. The drink won’t harm you, either, since I doubt you’ll think to ask.”

Foggy flushed with embarrassment that he’d already forgotten just how things had to be across the Wall. Still, though, he trusted this woman and didn’t know why. Having a single acquaintance in common shouldn’t be enough.

He lifted the teacup carefully and noticed that the opaque black liquid seemed thicker than water. He would take a whiff of a fine port or wine. For the strange stuff from a teapot, he gulped it down as quickly as he could and belatedly gagged at the taste.

“The taste,” Karen said sharply when he was struggling to keep the drink from coming back up.

“Blood,” Foggy gasped. “Blood and iron. Then something burning, like air burning after lightning.”

She drew a flask from a hidden pocket and poured a small measure of amber fluid into the teacup. “This will help,” she said.

Foggy did sniff the second drink. It smelled like flowers. When he sipped at it, the warmth spread through him like sunlight on a cloudless day.

Karen packed the teapot and saucer away before he was finished. When he handed her the cup, she scrubbed at it with the black cloth covering her table before settling the cup in place and carefully setting the case’s latches back as they had been. “You’ll find him if you look,” she said finally. “I think he’s still alive for blood and iron to both be present. It would have been rather more disgusting if he had died. The lightning means that I’m coming with you.”

Foggy gaped. While he tried to respond to that, she folded the tablecloth neatly and stacked it on top of her case. He was still wondering what to say when she drew a canvas satchel from beneath the table and put case and cloth both into the satchel. The moment she closed the cloth bag, it seemed like it held nothing at all.

Karen stood up. “Well? It isn’t as if you have any better plan,” she said. She reached up and dislodged the black cloak from a peg in the rafters. The cloak floated down to settle over her shoulders before she handed him the satchel. “You can be my hired man. Pretend that’s heavy, now.” The satchel was light as air. It didn’t even feel heavy enough to justify the cloth that had made it.

“No one is expecting me back to work for at least a month,” Foggy admitted. “I wasn’t sure how long I would be gone and didn’t want to disappoint someone.”

“At least you planned something,” Karen said briskly. “Walk with me while we figure out a suitable name for you. You can’t possibly say the other name out loud again. I’m fairly good but there’s no use in inviting trouble.”

SPOILERS The Chaste get to Spider-Man first rather than Tony Stark

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Spoilers for Spider man Homecoming !

Timelines aren't perfect but -

Peter seems very impressionable and eager to please as most teens. A newly powered Peter is found by Stick who is able to start his initiation and get into his head that he is needdd in a War against the Hand. Peter is blown away. First he has super powers and now he's meant to fight magic ninjas? He even has his own blind sensei with enhanced senses!

Then Stick has to go fight with Daredevil.

Stick wants Peter to remain hidden as an asset but Peter wants to help. He can fight crime too like Daredevil and as long as he's careful the hand won't know he's ready to fight against them.

Then Tony Stark comes and doesn't really give him a choice. And now he's also practically an Avenger! The Vulture has made him more famous. He has a new suit and he has better control of his powers. Part of him wished he could be an Ave gerbut he doesn't want to leave May and Ned. Besides he still has to be ready for the Hand.

Aunt May may have found out he's SpiderMan but she doesn't/can't know this.

Then he's greeted by Daredevil one day and boy is he pissed. Stick sent him and Peter learns fighting ninjas isn't all that easy. Especially if they're already kind of dead and you're not willing to kill.

TLDR: Stick starts molding Peter to fight the Hand. Daredevil happens and Stick leaves Tony Stark recruits Peter who is super into helping as an Avenger, well practically one. Now Daredevil and the he need to go against the Hand.

Foogy is a strength whore

(Anonymous) 2017-07-25 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
So i rad this intersting poll at this site and it got me thinking some kinky escenaros because yeah im kinky that way.

So my scenario is that Matt asks Foggy to join him in the gym to train along his fellow Defenders mates and Matt realises that Foggy gets aroused everytime someone does different feats of strength and Matt does everything to get areaction outta him.

So it all comes down to Matt fucking Foggy standing up holding his weight liek it's nothing and Foggy on teh evrge of passing out cause of this.

OMG

Frank/Matt smells

(Anonymous) 2017-07-26 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Frank smells. Bad. Like unwashed skin and blood and dirt and all of the grime of the city. Matt likes it.

++Matt puts his face up to Franks (still clothed) crotch and just. Inhales.

++Frank is considerate enough to wash up a bit when he knows theyre going to hook up. Matt doesn't want to tell him that he doesn't want that so he he instead just tries to catch him off guard with his propositions

Gen/any, Trish ships Matt/Jessica

Trish runs into Matt returning Jessica's scarf, and assumes Jess's taste in men has improved.

Nah, I think Frank is more of a sweat, gunpowder, explosives, cheap soap and yes, blood.

*takes deep breath* I am going to brutally murder Stick. I don't give a shit that the bastard's dead, I'll tesurrect him just to redo the job myself. That sob helped fuck over two of my babies already and the thought of him trying to "train" my favorite baby into another child super-soldier/weapon gets my blood boiling.

Ninja Turtles

No idea if this has been suggested, but exactly what it says on the can. "Waitwaitwait...you fight a buncha ninjas called the Hand. We fight a buncha ninjas called the Foot. Is somebody else gonna show up with a buncha ninjas called the Elbow or the Knee?!"

Matt/Foggy, ridiculous long-term misunderstanding

(Anonymous) 2017-08-03 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
I love me some Matt-being-clueless-with-the-lie-detector-senses, guys.

So in college, at some point early on, Matt comes out to Foggy as bi. Foggy stares at him for several beats past awkward and then says something like "oh hey, that's cool, me too!" Except his heart is suddenly racing so it sounds like a lie. Matt's not sure why he's lying--maybe to make Matt feel better, maybe because he's a little homophobic and overcompensating, maybe he thinks all the cool kids are bisexual. (Actually, Foggy's just freaking out that *Matt is bi, maybe I have a chance with him, oh wait shit no he totally shot me down already when we first met*). Anyway, they change the subject, literally never speak of it again, and Foggy only dates girls through the rest of college.

Many years and much bullshit later, Foggy is dating a dude and Matt is *super confused and jealous and angsty.* Foggy picks up on this and is like, "wait but you knew I like dudes, though. Right? We had this conversation a long time ago." And then bam, love confessions all around.

Re: Mattfoggy, heartbeat thing

(Anonymous) 2017-08-03 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, seconded. Mostly for the idea of Matt all flustered with Foggy pressed up against his chest.
