Daredevil Prompt Post #12

Mod Post | Discussion/Off-Topic Post | Writing Challenges
AO3 Collection | Fills: Completed & WIPs

All Rounds & Other Useful Links

This post is for prompts involving characters from Netflix's Daredevil.

Now that The Defenders prompt post is live, all crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go over there. Prompts only including characters that appear in Daredevil should still go here.

Rules:
  • General
    1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. Respect others. If you don't like something, scroll on.

    2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.

    3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    5. Prompts focusing on characters from other Netflix Marvel shows or the comics should go on their respective prompt posts, but crossovers with Daredevil can go here.

    6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - e.g. prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. When posting a fill, either add [FILL] (or something similar) to the subject line, or change the subject line to the title of your fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art and vids are all welcome.

Please post any prompts related to Season 2 of Punisher over on the dedicated Punisher prompt post, and put SPOILERS in the subject line!

Gen or Brett/Matt, Brett helps Daredevil

Brett gets trapped with Daredevil, only realising the vigilante is injured when the man collapses.

Art request: Matt in panties

I have a burning need for Matt in panties, complete with Charlie's hairy chest/stomach.

Rosa Diaz's bigass knife

Rosa loves violence and isn't phased by anybody's shit.

Why does this sound like Frank Castle...?

Re: Gen, Matt is actually arrested after the bombings

(Anonymous) 2017-06-03 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Same anon. I'm sorry, that may have come off a little harsh. I'm completely talking out of my ass, and only after that comment did I actually look it up. The merit of meme ideas should be debated and played with instead of being brushed off with a one-liner from The Addams Family.

Pro se representation in a criminal case is controversial. It has a poor reputation and the success rate is difficult to measure. It has to be taken on a case by case basis. Yes, the most famous US cases are probably Ted Bundy, George 'Father of the temp insanity plea' Remus, and 'the defendant from the case that ruled that the poor shouldn't have to go pro se' (Gideon vs Wainwright). But it is complicated.

This case is a fucker, but writers guide their characters through fuckers of cases all the time, and Marvel has shown that in Daredevil's world, being cleared of all charges by a sterling lawyer's rousing speech or a vigilante dropping the real culprit at the police station is far from the only way to win.

Hope you end up with a lovely fill or at least an interesting discussion about the scenerio. Sorry for being a dick

Re: Frank/Foggy/Matt + anything

(Anonymous) 2017-06-03 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm picturing some kind of absurd comedy shenanigans over the ownership of Max the dog. Not like DD and Punisher both trying to kidnap him from the pound, but maybe Foggy takes Max, and Matt is starting to slowly chill and stop sprinting out the window every time a youth steals from 7/11. But then Max starts ignoring Matt and Foggy to follow a certain suspicious guy who hangs around crime scenes and smells like gunpowder and spray paint...

Re: Nelson and Murdock make a commercial

(Anonymous) 2017-06-04 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Is it weird that my first thought was some kind of Clerks crossover scenario where N&M rent a video camera and a Randall-like character recovers their footage while looking for the blind bisexual threesome video he assumed they were really making.
Then Daredevil has to hunt down the store employees to figure out what they know after a remix video of the bloopers ends up online.

Young Matt: "I hear things"
Stick: "What kind of things?"
Young Matt: "Everything. Coughs and fights and cats meowing. Sometimes blocks away. I can sense things. I know where things are and when they move. There's a furry horned creature that comes out of my closet at night"
Stick: "You what?"

Mini-micro fill? The Punisher at the Laundromat

"Nope! Read the sign: check with attendent before cleaning punisher shirts. This one woulda cracked up and gummed up the filter again. What the heck is this fabric even? Nobody needs this tactical stuff unless they're actually in a warzone. You saw the news about that idiot who got shot filming a commercial for a 'bulletproof' skull shirt. Tactical only lasts so long before it wears out. You want the cool lines I can steer you to some people who do it with bias tape. Fabric is the safest bet for a lasting shirt anyway. Some vendors sell good ones, but unless you know what you're looking for you want to stick to dry cleaners and alterations places. My favorites are -"

And thus does he find himself getting an impromptu lesson on how to find the best murder shirt in the middle of a family-owned laundromat. He never goes there or anywhere else that sells punisher shirts again, but he does take the advice to get some proper fabric paint. Buys a few different colors and tells the clerk his kid's got a part in the school play.

She could also roll him into the panic room. Jessica yells at her about the intended purpose of the room, and how he's just gonna chill out until he feels better, then stroll out and murder her

To Jessica's surprise, Matt is still trapped there when she arrives, having been foiled by the room's inaccessible controls.

Re: Nelson and Murdock make a commercial

lmao

I would not be opposed to any of this, esp since my whole idea around making the ad was around a 'if it can go wrong, it will,' sort of doomed production. lol

the boys exasperate each other, they catch feelings, they're super proud of their super dumb ad. and a bonus daredevil saves the day? icing. I love it.

Re: Nelson and Murdock make a commercial

There's a heavily featured clip where Matt casually does a daredevil stunt. Someone has to journey into the youtube comment section to find out what people are saying about it.

"2:17, why did you write #blindninja? What are you trying to say?"
"That it was funny when the blind dude tried to catch the fat guy by his belt but the belt snapped and the guy fell down with no pants and pirate patterned boxers"

Skull and Crossbones crackship

(Anonymous) 2017-06-04 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Frank Castle/Brock Rumlow.
Any circumstance and au that makes it remotely plausible (no rape. And preferably no Hydra Frank). Maybe they bond over fanboying over Cap, discovering bisexuality and being recklessly stupid while young and in the military? Maybe the Punisher ends up working with STRIKE team?

Re: Skull and Crossbones crackship

(Anonymous) 2017-06-05 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Damn. Normally I don't even read prompts with Rumlow (Not a fan of rape or hydraAUs either) but this actually makes sense. They actually do have a lot in common and it would be fascinating to explore how they differ and what really separates the villain from the anti-hero (or some other subtype I can't name)
They'd also look good fucking. You know, either or.

Fill: El Templo (Matt/Foggy)

(Anonymous) 2017-06-05 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
You have to be referred to El Templo to even get a reservation (they don't call it an appointment, or a session, or anything like that). Foggy supposes it's for security, since discretion is El Templo's hallmark. Or it's rumored to be, anyway.

Marci's the one who refers him. She was referred by Chao, who gave her the referral as a reward for a particularly gruelling case, and she gushed to Foggy about it for a week, all the while swearing him to secrecy.

But it's his birthday, and Marci's flush, so she got him a reservation.

"I picked Matt for you," she says, smiling like a cat who ate a canary. "You'll like him. He's blind, by the way, but trust me, his abs more than make up for it."

El Templo doesn't have a website, no Facebook or Twitter. Foggy has no idea who Marci might have picked out for him.

The day before his reservation, a pretty blonde woman in a pencil skirt arrives at his office door, handing him a business card with "Karen Page, Client Services" printed on it. In the corner is the logo Marci told him to look for: a broken column that creates a distinctly phallic shape.

Miss Page smiles and hands him an envelope with a four-digit number written on it, and tells him to look everything over before his reservation tomorrow.

"We can have a drink waiting for you," she says. "What's your poison?"

"Oh, uh, beer, I guess," Foggy stammers.

Miss Page produces a piece of card stock, with beer names neatly printed. Foggy doesn't recognize any of them, so he picks one at random. Then Miss Page tells him again to look over the paperwork, and leans forward to flip over the card she gave him. On the other side is an address, and the same four-digit number as on the envelope.

"Give the card to the receptionist," Miss Page says. "They'll look after you."

"Seems like a lot of work for a..."

"A bordello?" Miss Page says, grinning. "I think you'll find we aspire to be a little more than that."

With that, she's gone.

Foggy's too embarrassed to open the envelope at work, so he waits until he's home. Inside is a code of conduct, with a note telling him to read carefully. Beneath that is a checklist of sexual preferences, with a note that his checklist can be kept on file and updated whenever he wants. The note also says in gentle phrases that he can instead discuss the checklist with his companion.

Foggy feels his heart racing as he reads some of the options further down, and imagines handing this list over to a stranger. He checks off "prefer to discuss."

The address on Miss Page's card is an old brownstone in Midtown. There's nothing to indicate what business operates out of the location except for the discreet logo in brass on the door. Foggy takes a deep breath and opens the door, to find an elegant reception area manned by a slender young black man. Foggy hands over the card, and the young man smiles.

"You're Matt's reservation," he says. "Since it's your first time, I have to double check that you've read the code of conduct?"

"Uh, yeah."

The young man clicks something on the computer. "And do you have your checklist?"

"I, uh, I'd prefer to discuss?"

"Sure," the receptionist says warmly. "Don't worry, a lot of people do that for their first reservation. If you want to head over to table 3, Matt will be there in a moment."

He waves toward a door, and Foggy goes through to what must have been the parlor. There's a small bar set up in the corner, and cabaret tables scattered throughout the room. There's a small stage at the far end, where a pretty Asian woman and an adorable blond man are performing an acrobatic routine that is both sensual and jaw-droppingly physically demanding. Foggy makes his way to table 3, trying not to stare at the others in the room.

There's the pale, dark-haired woman leaning on the bar, talking to Miss Page.

There's the blonde woman with a man on his knees next to her, a collar around his neck.

There's the huge black man whose muscles have muscles, smiling as he chats with the gorgeous woman in the sparkling cocktail dress.

There's the man with his dark hair cropped short, wearing a skull t-shirt, grinning and pulling a red-haired woman into his lap.

There's the beautiful Latina woman behind the bar, scanning the room.

"The Hennepin Saison?" someone says. Foggy turns around to find himself staring at...abs. All he can think of are the abs he can see through the thin t-shirt.

"What?"

"You ordered the Hennepin Saison, right?" the vision with the abs says. Foggy manages to tear his eyes away to look up at a face with incredible bone structure and artful stubble, wearing a pair of red sunglasses and a smile.

"Did I?"

"That's what Karen told me. Please tell me you're waiting for Matt?"

"Uh, yeah..."

"Then I've got the right guy." He puts the glass down and slides into the seat next to Foggy. His knee brushes Foggy's, but he doesn't move any further into Foggy's space. "Pleasure to meet you."

"Oh, you're Matt!" Foggy says articulately.

Matt (apparently) laughs. "Have been for a while." He has an amazing smiles. "What can I call you?"

"Fuh-Foggy."

"Foggy. OK, that's a new one." Matt's grinning, leaning back in his chair. He jerks his head toward the stage. "How's the show?"

"It's, uh, very...impressive."

"Not sexy?"

"It's...a little sexy. Although I question the choice of green spandex."

Matt laughs. "Awesome. We've been giving Danny shit all week about that."

Foggy watches the green-spandex-clad man twist around a silk hung from the ceiling.

"This is my first time," Foggy blurts out.

"I know. They do tell me these things."

"I, uh, I don't exactly know what to do."

Matt shrugs. He hasn't tried to touch Foggy. If they were in any bar in the city, anyone would think they were friends. "No rules to that," he says easily. "Whatever you want. No need to rush. You know that we each only take one reservation a night, right?"

"I, uh, I'm not sure I did."

"So no time limit. But do me a favor and don't get too drunk, otherwise I'll just wind up holding your hair back while you puke, and that's just not sexy."

Foggy takes a sip of beer.

"I'll try not to," he says. "Guess you have to deal with this a lot, huh? First-timers?"

"Yeah."

"Can I ask you...about the checklist?"

"Sure. I mean, we have to talk about it at some point."

"Do people actually ask for...some of the stuff on there?"

"The kinkier stuff? Sure. Usually not right out the gate, but yeah." Matt cocks his head. "The rule here is: you can ask for anything. And I have the right to say no, but generally if I do, I'll refer you to one of the others." He gestures around the room.

"You ever...get something really weird?"

"Sure. But...do this long enough, and you start to realize that everyone thinks they're weird, and they're not. We all just want to have a good time, and be ourselves, right?"

Foggy wonders how much of what Matt is saying is an act.

"Do you have a good time?" he says.

"Yeah, I do."

Onstage, the acrobatic routine is finishing. Green-spandex-Danny and the Asian girl bow and leave the stage, and music comes on over the speakers. Foggy takes a long drink of beer and looks at the gorgeous man beside him.

"I don't want anything kinky," he says in a rush.

"That's OK, too," Matt says, sounding amused.

"No, I'm not even sure - this wasn't even my idea, I've never used a prost - sex worker, I mean -"

"Hey," Matt says, "we can move at whatever pace you want. And if all you want is for somebody to be nice to you, I'm not going to get offended."

"I'm going to be honest," Foggy says. "I think I can manage a little more than that."

"You mean...hold hands?" And Matt's smile has gone sharp and a little wicked.

"Whoa, slow down there, I've only had one beer."

Matt leans back, and Foggy admires the way his shirt pulls across his chest.

"How many beers before you'll come upstairs with me?" Matt says.

Foggy drains the glass.

"Looks like just one," he says.

He stands up, and Matt holds out his hand.

"Sorry to ask, but do you mind leading me? Just make sure I don't run into anyone else or trip over a chair."

"Sure." Foggy takes his hand. "Guess we get to hold hands after all."

Matt smirks. "Yeah, it's all downhill from here."

Foggy leads Matt into the reception area and up the stairs, helping him avoid tripping over the man on his knees. His heart is pounding, and Matt squeezes his hand reassuringly. Matt directs him down the hall, and opens the door himself. He turns to Foggy, and quickly leans in and brushes his lips across Foggy's.

"Do you want to come in?" he says.

Foggy hesitates on the threshold. But it's just him and a beautiful man, with no pressure and no expectations.

"Yes," he says, stepping inside.

I think Hydra Trash Party is to blame for the rapist!Rumlow image. He's a trash kind of person, sure, but he doesn't neccessarily need to be that kind of trash.
To me, he seem more of an uncrupulous idealist well-meaning vilain (or just trying to get paid)

Matt is an actuall lawyer, he might be able to defend himself.
