This post is for prompts involving characters from Netflix's Daredevil.

Now that The Defenders prompt post is live, all crossovers between anyone in the four individual shows should go over there. Prompts only including characters that appear in Daredevil should still go here.

Rules:

General
1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. Respect others. If you don't like something, scroll on.
2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.
3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).
4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.
5. Prompts focusing on characters from other Netflix Marvel shows or the comics should go on their respective prompt posts, but crossovers with Daredevil can go here.

Or Marci. That would give us a very sudden shift in Matt—Marci relations, and a lot of serious and intense character exploration for both of them.

Prompter here. I honestly didn't think anybody would suggest that one but I'd be very glad if it got written. All I'd say is I'd prefer Karen and Marci not be the victims because I'm attached to them >:) An OC would be fine though!

If anybody would feel like writing it, what would be amazing would be if Foggy SA'ed (or tried to SA) a man. Matt would have to confront the fact that he never even realised Foggy likes men as well as the terrible nature of what his friend has done. Could be interesting to write and to read. 👀

So Matt is... done. He's isolated and enstranged from his friends. He's (maybe) injured or seriously sick. Hell's Kitchen is suffering around him, and he can't help, can't work, can't do anything right... People are right to leave him. He's not helping; he's toxic.

And Matt knows his city like the back of his hand, so he knows the perfect suicide spot. Where his body would disappear, and he would be a missing person forever. Without a body, no one will probably notice he's not there anymore.

Good. He has it all figured out.

...except when he gets to his chosen crime scene, somebody's already there.

A kid.

So I want to see an angry, hopeless Matt with an angry, hopeless teenager he suddenly has to take care of. Talk the value of life into him, which, you know... Matt's probably not the best choice of person for that at the moment. But he's also the only one, so. Get to work, Matty.

I want them at each other's throats.

Sniping at each other and making each other's lives hard at every step. The kid not wanting to talk and not wanting to tell who he is or where he's from, what the hell happened. Matt trying to protect the kid from Matt. Both of them keeping toxic secrets from each other. Both of them trapped together in Matt's appartement for all forciable future.

They're both angry and petty, but Matt has to be the adult in the (literal) room--- which, coincidentally, he was never good at.

Oh. Didn't consider a man. Foggy isn't really built to overpower a grown man...?

This fact is taking me into dark places.

(I think I hit my boundry. Prefer the serial killer xd. Your prompt, though:)).

I'd go for either. I imagine Foggy would nope out of the case if it was souless enough — like the one we saw in that L&Z snippet. Though maybe he can't without quitting the job? I wonder how long Foggy would keep at it then. Not an insignificant amount of time, I bet. He WAS excited at the prospect of working at L&Z. Not so excited when faced with Healey, though, so there's that.

Yeah... lots of potential for angst here :)

One of my doubts was — we've already had Frank interact with David's kids, who were about this age. So I don't want to do the same thing twice. So now I'm thinking about what to add to this little girl's characteristics that would make it significantly different. Some possibilities come to mind, but nothing quite convinces me yet.

Do you have any ideas?

(Also, is it okay to workshop things with you like this?)

I'm still thinking about it. Serial killer, but who does he kill?

I'm not interested in Dexteresque "redeeming quality" of I'm-a-killer-who-kills-killers or criminals that slipped court. That's just bullshit. Murder is murder is murder, and trying to half-assedly justify it as a narrator is worthy of disdain on several level, not least just because it's lazy writing.

So...?

The DD gang (and maybe the rest of Claire's roster of vigilantes or even a few of the more redeemable villains) are extremely grateful for Claire's dedication to saving their/their friends' lives over and over again.
In return, they watch over her, bring her gifts, give her free legal representation, and take her on fun (platonic?) dates only having superpowers would give you access to.

Gen or any is fine with me.

What if Matt actually WAS "the Devil of Hell's Kitchen"?

I have this vision of a faceless, black-clad man following a man down the street by walking at the same pace as him, then grinning to himself in the dark. Opening a switchblade that shines in the night together with his teeth, catching up to him and cutting open his jugular, then walking away at the same pace without stopping.

Don't catch the Devil's attention.

Me too. Preferably by an American, as they are the people who actually experience this - if only by proximity and fear for most white people. I think they might understand it on a much more visceral level.

Then again, I live on another continent and _I_ feel disgusted, scared and angry. So I guess anyone could understand it after some reflection.

I'd love to see this filled.

Ah well I love Dexter so I can't offer any insight into that.
What if it was accidental manslaughter? A burglar breaks into Foggy's apartment and Foggy defends himself a little too enthusiastically with a baseball bat and is now staring down at a corpse? Does he panic? Try to dispose of the body?

Interestingly,although we're talking about the Daredevil TV show, comics!Foggy Nelson has canonically murdered someone before. If you count a frost giant as a person...⁰

Of course it's alright! I understand wanting to make the kid younger then, maybe even 6?
I think no matter what she'd remind him of Lisa (I'm not sure how much he was around while Lisa grew up, don't really know how the army works. If he wasn't around much, maybe taking care of this child makes him think of all the time he lost?)

I'm not sure how to separate her from David's kids, though (also because my memories of his show are pretty vague)

What can I say, I've been reading past prompts/fills on this meme and that included Foggy raping Matt in college (it was even very realistically written: Foggy was horrible but not completely ooc), so my mind went there xD

The victim being a man would be pretty interesting!! Maybe he could drug them.
Karen would kill him if he tried (or if he did), Marcy would probably do the same. Or ruin his life utterly and strategically.

Oh yes, Matt fighting with a teenager! Also ~~if Matt's anything like me~~ arguing to convince someone else that life is precious, they are precious and worth, they shouldn't kill herself, would be the best way to convince himself of those things as well.
Of course Matt is very much the "I'm the only exception" type, not caring if he himself gets hurt as long as everyone else is okay, but one can hope.

David's kids were a bit generic (as I remember them), which I actually think was a solid choice story-wise — they're a callback to Frank's own children, so making them distinctive from the crowd of other children their age would be counter-productive.

(And now that I'm trying to write one and paying attention, it's quite remarkable how similar to each other all kids of certain age really seem in an adult's mind. It's slightly disturbing).

So, Leo likes books and Zach is processing losing his dad by being angry. This is pretty much the extent of their character.

Their entire purpose in the story is just to make Frank re-live being a Dad, and let audience watch him be a Dad. So... yeah.

Okay. I have a few ideas, but I'll keep them to myself for now then. More fun in eventual reading if they go through :)

Is there anything you think should be there / not be there in the story? Any requests, ideas?

I think Matt would be mostly okay with manslaughter, especially in self-defence. His morals and priorities are rather flexible on that point, really.

And it's a very different crime than "serial killer", too.

(Also, sorry for insulting Dexter. That wasn't my goal, actually. I still think it's not good writing to try to hide behind an 'only-killers' trope, but Dexter writers did a pretty decent job with it.)

I think reacting to Foggy having raped them would be much harder than you suggest to both Karen and Marci.

Foggy is a very important figure in both their lives, as a reliable haven and someone they can always trust and be safe with. A betrayal from him would hit very hard.
