This is separate from the usual prompt posts, so the rules are a bit different. Please read before diving in!


🎃 Rules 🎃:

• All comments must be anon.


• This is a Halloween fest, so all prompts must fit the theme! All things spooky and terrifying are very welcome, but it doesn't have to be all horror - prompts about the characters celebrating Halloween in their own way, dressing up and handing out sweets are wonderful too!


• Prompts can be anything! A single word, a picture, a poem, a music video, an urban legend. You can specify characters or pairings or not. Long, detailed prompts are discouraged (if you have a clear idea of what you want, prompt the keyword and write it!). Don't repost prompts from the rest of the meme.


• You don't need to put anything in the subject line (but you can if you want to!), unless you're posting a fill.


• Fills can be anything, and of any length! Long fic is delightful and welcome, but think of this like trick or treating - delicious, bite sized pieces. Art fills and anything else you can think of are also welcome!


• Multiple fills for the same prompt are highly encouraged.


• Please put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill, so anyone scrolling through can spot it!


• Don't link your fill on either of the Fills Posts! This is a self-contained comment fest. You can, of course, cross-post to AO3 and add your fic to the DDKM collection, if you want.


• This fest will close around midday tomorrow, so get writing!

Gen, repentant!Stick, monster!Matt, Tragedy (...Or not?)

Matt becomes a creature of some kind, and it progresses to the point where he's a danger to the residents of Hell's Kitchen.

He can't be reasoned with anymore (less of an "evil!Matt" thing and more of a "can't fight his instincts" kind of thing), and in the end, it's Stick that has to put him down.

In the process, he comes to terms with his past foolishness and allows himself to acknowledge that he left because HE got emotionally attached. It's with sadness, rather than a completely cold business-is-business demeanor that he goes about the final, world-weary ninja master versus wayward student showdown. It's an act of mercy and with an ironic sense of duty Stick has for protecting citizens he himself doesn't care about on Matt's behalf when Matt can no longer do so.

It's up to you whether Matt literally has to be put down, making Stick's repentance bittersweet and tragic, or a happier ending where the changes can be reversed or managed and everyone lives happily ever after. (Perhaps the Avengers can't take him down themselves because whatever creature + super senses = IMPOSSIBLE without Stick's expertise, but are standing by with a cure.) My vision for this was a tragedy, but at the same time, the latter possibility has some MAGICAL opportunities for hurt/comfort, so...

Bonuses:
- Stick saying "Matty" is my kryptonite
- Extra ultra bonus tearjerker points for Matt being incapable of understanding and creating human speech, but Stick talking to him anyway
- I'm REALLY fond of vicious, animalistic vampires??? Man-eating is SUCH good hurt/comfort and/or horror material oh my god

Clearly the real monster here is anons who post ideas that rip your heartstrings out and make you cry.
I am so into this prompt it's amazing
