oh, matt. there is no age limit for sexual crises, you ridiculous cupcake.

oh gosh, let me count the universes:

1. mcu canon, with matt, foggy, karen, and claire
2. 616, thus far represented only by matt
3. matt, karen, and foggy from the black widow & electrokinetic fill
4. tiny!matt and tiny!foggy from a world with an offset timeline
5. karen from a world where she's daredevil and matt is presumably dead
6. matt(ie) from a world where everyone's physical sex is reversed

am i right?

anyway, i love how blasé 616!matt is about the whole thing, and mcu!matt's tired resignation as things just keep getting weirder and his toaster bites the dust. also the idea of karen somehow getting matt's narrative role, blindness and red outfit and all, is not one i've seen before but i like it! a lot! and i think foggy is coping surprisingly well, all things considered. :D

What do hink inspired it?

"I don't mean to send you away," Wilson said. He was - thank god, finally, Matthew had responded in the way that the psychologists had told him to watch out for. "This is your home, for as long as you'd want to stay."

Matthew laughed into his shoulder, like he'd told a good joke.

"May I," Wilson said. "Take you to - there are things that must be done, here."

"I killed him," Matthew sobbed, "no, no, please don't - I'm sorry, I killed him, I'm sorry -"

"I killed him," Wilson said, and made the executive decision to lift Matthew up (he clung, like a koala) and begin walking to the elevator to the second floor; one of the more competent bodyguards - James - had taken over the living room, which was good: in two hours, there'd be no way to tie Matthew Murdock to the death of anyone in New York city. "You saved my life, Matthew. I'm in your debt."

"I didn't mean to," Matthew mumbled. "Put me down, I'm not a kid, I can - " so Wilson released him; he leaned hard against Wilson's side, shaking, and he tempted fate by wrapping an arm around Matthew's thin, bony shoulders.

"It was fortunate you came downstairs," Wilson said, "and not through the window." Ms. Smith had made her opinions on that security breach absolutely clear.

That had been the wrong thing to say, judging on how quickly Matthew teared up; all these weeks of prickly, angry teenager, and all it took was one near-death experience and one unfortunate assassin's death, to bring a child to open up. "I'm sorry," Matthew said, again: "I heard it, I couldn't help it, I wasn't trying to eavesdrop."

This prompt brought to you by an old film called The Entity, supposedly based on a true story of a woman who is followed around for years by a ghost that keeps raping her and nobody can stop it, even when she starts asking for help.

So everybody thinks Matt has an abusive lover? It's a ghost that has been following him around for years. It doesn't show up very often, but Matt's never managed to get away from the thing, and he can always tell when it's in the room with him, watching. Nobody can see it, there's nothing there to see although to Matt it feels like a very real creature with mass and strength but with no body temperature or scent. It's terrifying to Matt. And it likes to show up when Matt is hosting company, and the thing will rape Matt in front of people just to humiliate him. Or worse, damage whatever lover Matt's taken for the night. So Matt has learned to not fight it, just let it take what it wants and it'll disappear for a while. But sometimes it beats and batters Matt first and Matt ends up with massive not-human-hand shaped bruises on his body and throat and wrists and then he needs to try to explain those things to his friends.

So who helps Matt finally exorcise this thing? Father Lantom? Foggy? Hank Pym? Bruce Banner? Ghost Rider? Doctor Strange? Or maybe it's actually not a ghost but a really really clever evil rapist who has been targeting Matt for years? Your call, a!a. Add relationships, add allll the angst, add the Avengers backing away slowly and wondering what the actual fuuuuck, Daredevil? Do your worst!

I will admit that fifty dead raccoon photos does seem a little excessive. *wry*

Anyway, I'm glad you liked the fill! It was fun to write these three being ridiculous at each other. :D

...i am not a person who can watch that vid (NOPETOPUS ON OUT OF HERE) but this is a terrifying horror story of a prompt, OP, and I commend you.

Maybe he's just being overprotective, maybe it's justified because Anatoly has a terrible track record when it comes to relationships,maybe both... either way I don't care

I don't care who the date is either (I do have a soft spot for Foggy or Wesley but I'd read with anyone, man or woman)

Make it crack or make it serious just give me protective big brother Vladimir doing his best to scare the hell out of Anatoly's potential lovers

(and maybe justifying himself to his brother by saying that if they can't handle him they don't deserve to date Anatoly in the first place)

matt and karen as deadly, traumatized child soldiers and foggy as the unsuspecting civilian thrust into their world? omg. who are you and how did you know this is everything i ever wanted?!

"You should call the police," Matthew told the table. He sounded miserable, and dry: absolutely worn out.

"I'm the one who killed him," Wilson reminded him. He'd made eggs and pancakes and sausage and yogurt: there was a tiny chance that Matthew might express interest in one of them. "Not you. I'm the one who should to go jail; do you want to call the police?"

"NO," Matthew said. "It was - he had a gun. You had to do something."

"I think so," Wilson said.

"I'm a liar," Matthew mumbled; he looked like he was tearing up again. Wilson had never been in circumstances like these before. He wasn't sure if Matthew...should...get a - hug? again? or whether it would be wisest to stay away: he halved the difference, and pulled the second chair up to the table. Matthew knuckled angrily at his eyes. "I heard him from upstairs," Matthew said. "I can hear people, like that. I can hear you." He laughed, ugly and desperate, like sobs: "I'm not really blind, I'm a faker, I'm a mutant probably, you should - you should call Sister Agatha. I won't say anything."

Wilson had no idea what half of that was meant to mean, and less than half of a solid grasp on the other half of it, but - but this child was his responsibility, and had saved his life: "I'll call the school," he said, vaguely. "You'll be excused."

Matthew started laughing; Wilson put a hand on his back, meaning only to steady him while he explained that Matthew Murdock was sick, that day, and wound up with the thirteen-year-old clinging to him, sobbing like his heart was breaking.

(idk? idk? like it turns out all i want is some adult to handle matt after the stick thing. also: fucking CRYING CONSTANTLY. blame murder/puberty.)

(OOPS VERY IMPORTANT: matthew murdock is really truly blind, you guys! there's a line here where baby!matt suggests that he's not really blind because he's got powers, but that is meant to suggest...hormonal, upset thirteen-year-old, not "reality".)

1. correct. (Claire is there bc she and Karen were out and talking with each other, and tiny!Foggy quite literally bumped into them just as Mattie showed up.)
2. also right! somewhere in Hell's Kitchen Kirsten and Foggy are at a Thai restaurant, wondering what the hell is going on here. they'll show up at the apartment, possibly with more Matts and Foggys in tow. (616!Foggy doesn't even bat an eyelid, anymore, this shit's Wednesday.)
3. correct! ("oh my god you're a mutant???" "yeah uh for the longest Tim I just thought I had really shit luck with electronics, Karen's been helping, we'll replace the faster I swear")

I like the idea. also, I like the mental image of Spider-Gwen's Matt being around and possibly grumbling about all his alternate selves seeing things in black and white, but helping out with whatever Bad Thing is going on bc he'd like to get back to his world now pls. (they have to get him to promise to absolutely not kill or torture or maim anybody in this world.)

Man, that would be amazing, and it makes perfect sense.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when characters in amnesia fic default to 'real world normal' when they get amnesia. Like, if Draco Malfoy suddenly lost all his personal memories, he wouldn't suddenly think magic isn't real. Dean Winchester wouldn't suddenly not believe in monsters. He might forget that other people don't believe in monsters, but he's not going to revert to a worldview that he never actually inhabited.

So it makes complete sense to me that amnesiac!Matt would just assume that his own experience is normal, and someone should definitely write it, because it would be hilarious.

That was beautifully incongruous. The "kids" were extremely cute and Frank's portrayal as a fatherly figure was just spot on. I think this was largely due to the outside perspective. It meant that the angst about Frank's origin was implied rather than something that weighed the piece down, allowing the humour of the situation to come through. Thanks for sharing, anon.

Poor Tony made me laugh, especially Karen giving him the death stare. Little baby Foggy was so adorable I could hardly stand it, and his friendship with Matt was so precious.

And wow, Frank must have been the best dad. Nail painting and Legos and unicorns and Dr. Seuss. That dude gets it.

I would go through and list all my favorite lines, but every line was just perfect and made me grin so hard. I'm gonna re-read this a lot.

Matt gets amnesia. maybe he's gotten hit with a magic spell or just a really heavy brick, but when he wakes up he has literally no clue who the fuck he is or what the fuck he's doing here, and more to the point he has no idea he's Daredevil, just that he has superpowers and that he is entangled in a Bad Situation and people need help, so he ends up pulling out the ninja moves while in civilian clothes.

honestly just give me a situation where amnesiac!Matt assumes that no one will bat an eye at a blind guy parkouring like a pro. Foggy has heart palpitations.

I mean, I personally have a thing for Matt Murdock, Really Blind for 20+ Years, but I also have a thing for Matt Murdock, Secret Superpowers for 20+ Years and Comically Overestimating Baseline Human Ability, to the tune of

"what, you can't smell that at all? i figured everyone was just being polite," and

"...ooohhhh, that's why you build apartments so close to airports," and

"...you really don't mind it. at all? AT ALL? I mean, I assumed the "cotton" ads on TV were elaborate practical jokes."

I really like Matt/Foggy, but pretty much anything would work for me.

So in his civilian, day-to-day life, Matt seems to do an admirable job at being a calm and sweet cinnamon roll. But this is also the guy who threw his laptop across the room and outright states he has the Devil in him. You can't hide that sort of rage forever.

I want Matt to lose his temper - not at Foggy or Karen, but around them, leaving them dumbstruck. Honestly both of them seem rather protective of Matt and worry about him getting hurt; it must be a shock to the system to see him absolutely lose it.

Matt apologizes afterwards, but it kind of leaves them shaken for a while.

Yaaaas, good. Absolutely should be freaking horrific.

Lets say they both are 45 ish, Matt fighting the crime is getting harder and harder for him every year and during all that time Foggy has been there for him and viceversa.
One day while having the weekly drinks cause they cant drink like we are in our 20's anymore Foggy tells Matt something is missing, that he needs something in his life, he's old and he feels like he hasnt accomplished much so he sits straigh and stare right at Matt's eyes and tells him he wants a kid.
Matt is not surprised, he tells him that if they hadnt had the life they 've got they probably should be great parents and he's sorry that he dragged him into his life that he didnt get a chance in having a good relationship.
Foggy is not sorry, they might have been through hard times, lost wifes, cancer and a millon other thing but they stay togetehr through everything and "hey!, that not something most people can say about a friendship" so yes, Foggy wants a kid and he wants to adopt and here comes Matt that wants to help also wanting that extra something on his friends life and on his own.
