We all know that Matt Murdock is terrible at taking care of himself, but no one knows it better than Foggy Nelson.

So Matt's taken down Fisk, and probably five different mobs, so crime in Hell's Kitchen is down more than it has been in years, but the less he has to do, the more agitated and restless Matt becomes because in a way, Claire was right: He doesn't like hurting people, but he does like the thrill of the fight, and he really, really likes getting hurt himself because it numbs his feelings of helplessness and deep down, he thinks he deserves it.

Matt starts looking for trouble and he's getting increasingly careless while searching for his fix of pain and adrenaline. He sleeps even less, works even harder, stays out even longer, trains even more.

Of course, all of this is taking a toll on his mental and physical health and he becomes more vulnerable, gets hurt more often and worse.

Foggy notices and tries his best to distract Matt, but it doesn't work.

Until Foggy (half-jokingly) suggests he should just tie Matt to the bed to keep him off the streets, or spank him if he keeps skipping meals, or something like that.

Matt suddenly gets very, very cooperative. He might not listen to requests and pleas and advice, but give him an order and he immediately goes into sub space and just ... does it. No questions asked.

Foggy's been in D/s relationships before, so he's like "huh, this isn't ideal, but I can work with this".
He asks Matt if they could make an arrangement that might help him and Matt reluctantly admits, that being ordered around helps him deal with the guilt, that being bound gives him something to focus on, that pain is a relief to him, he knows it's fucked up, but that's just who he is.

So Foggy doms him occasionally, at first mostly when Matt's feeling particularly on the edge or when he's in no shape for fighting, but it becomes an increasingly regular thing - with Foggy sleeping over at Matt's place to make sure he's okay while he's handcuffed to the bedpost, ordering Matt to cook for both of them to make sure Matt gets to eat regularly, etc.

It's not a sexual thing, not initially at least, but there are still ~feelings~ between them that Foggy thinks are unrequited, goddamn, he really shouldn't even contemplate "taking advantage" of Matt (spoiler alert it's on his mind all the time anyway), and Matt feels guilty about, because no, he's no good in relationships, and besides, it's a miracle that Foggy knows him, truly knows him, even at his worst, and hasn't left yet, he wouldn't want to ruin that, but on the other hand, Foggy KNOWS and he hasn't left yet, so maybe there's a chance for them now? (Angsty brooding ensues.)

You can tweak the scenario if you like, I'd just really, really like to see something about BDSM as a coping mechanism and the hardships of making a relationship that seems like it's bound to be deeply unhealthy work.

Positive outcome preferred, but not strictly required.

I haven't actually seen it (yet), but I've seen that particular scene in gif form on Tumblr. It may or may not have inspired this prompt ;)

This was incredible. Well-written, in character, and very believable.

(And was that a callback to Vol 2, 82 there? Where Matt is in prison listening to Foggy's heartbeat?)

Could be Avengers, could be Deadpool, could be a random OC. I don't care, I just think Matt only self-taught (martial arts, at least) after Stick, and it would be cool for someone to show him the ropes of knife-fighting that he never quite got.

Preferably before Nobu's friends with the blades show up.

No pairings or canon pairings are fine.

...I get how rude it is to tell secrets when they're not strictly your secrets to tell, but I desperately want Foggy (for whatever heads-up Marci's-my-longest-fwb we're-still-boning person) having the (ridiculous, improbable) conversation with Marci when it starts.

"Congratulations," she said, zipping up her skirt. "You finally put a ring on it, awesome, do I - oh, is this the let's-still-be-friends part? Because I wouldn't actually call us friends, so -"

"What? No! No, not in a - it's not a sex thing, it's just a." Foggy'd gotten flustered in about half a second, which Marci loved more than anything. "It's a nonsexual. Friendly release of tension, I guess?"

"If you're domming for therapeutic reasons remember it's a tax write off," Marci said, calmly. "Make him pay you. Oh my god, wait, you're serious, this is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas."

"Would you believe the alternatives were worse?" Foggy asked. "Look, it's not - I'm not asking for permission, it's my business, I just wanted to let you know if you...wanted to take a break, I guess."

"Nope," Marci said. "Not until I find someone else halfway decent at giving head, thanks, sweetie."

Yes! Seconding this so hard! I always picture of somebody getting Matt senses as horrible terrible overwhelming sensory overload as well as crippling sensory deprivation. In some ways, "worst superpowers ever for a newbie to get stuck with."

So maybe somewhere in her dark shady past, Karen got pregnant at a young age. I think she'd either get an abortion secretly without her family ever knowing, or she'd give her kid up for adoption.
If she ended up having an abortion, how did it affect her? Does she tell Matt and Foggy?
If she gave the child up for adoption, does the kid try and find her later? Does she come into the office one day and there's a teenager there like "I'm your son/daughter/kid?"
