There’s a lot of ways that could have gone wrong in a fic and you are avoiding all of them. I completely believe that Foggy, in this situation, would act like this, and I completely believe that Matt the Devil would be charmed by him.
--- :DDD HURRAY, I'm so happy it's believable! I love me some ridiculous Dave the Minion antics and silly fluffy Consort/Regent of Hell Foggy, but the build-up to the contract had to be angst. It just had to be. ;_; Mild enough to be believable, but intense enough at one time to blow Foggy's mind and make him make rash decisions. XD

Yeah, Matt, you TOTALLY had plans already in Hell’s Kitchen. Like, you were totally going this way anyways, just HAPPENED to pick up Foggy for the ride, YEAH RIGHT.

--- *cackles* He really did, actually, because with Fisk and Union Allied and all that jazz, Matt had some serious ass-kicking he wanted to do and deals he wanted to make. But no, he definitely didn't need to be living on Earth for years to do any of it. :P

I really hope Matt is being sincere here and not manipulating Foggy by exploiting his need to help others. That would be so not ok.

Foggy living with the knowledge of his impending doom is a part of what I wanted from this. Because sometimes I am a sick puppy.

--- I wish I could go into it more, but I don't think it'll fit the rest of the story very well without spinning it into something a lot more epic! But Naming will continue to be a theme to some extent, yes. :D

Yes yes yessssssss. The build-up was very important and you got it, I'm so pleased. Now we have the foundation for the consort business and the War Boys Demons. Angst was necessary and I'm so pleased with the angst we got.

Yeah, he's like those cats who are like "... I meant to walk this way, yeah, totally" or awkward kids who are like "I joined the after school band for myself, not because I wanted to spend more time with you or anything ..." and fool no one.
Probably real easy to explain to the demons though "I'M GOING OUT. FOR LIKE TEN YEARS. I'LL CHECK IN PERIODICALLY. BYE." and they're all like "YES MY LORD." And Foggy will just accept whatever Matt tells him. So really, the only person Matt is lying to is himself. Hahahahahaha.

Yeah, Charlie Cox has the puppiest puppy face ever my gods. Apparently he's very self-deprecating in real life, which is just sad because he's so gorgeous how does he not know that.

Oooo, now that's a cool/creepy/adorable idea. Matt watching Foggy's soul to make sure being around THE DEVIL doesn't like, tarnish it or something. And he's continually amazed that even after years it doesn't tarnish at all. WHO IS THIS MORTAL. HOW.
In keeping with the "Matt the Devil is also a housecat" character concept, now I'm imagining Matt chasing souls around like laser pointers I'm so sorry.

I take no issue with general demons and devils pulling the wounded gazelle gag, but I just can't see Matt doing it. :P And yeah, I got that impression from Charlie Cox - I wonder if maybe he's still a little overwhelmed by Daredevil/Marvel-levels of fame and popularity. XD Chris Evans is known to get really anxious, too, even if he's also an exuberant golden retriever once actually in front of a camera.

Yeah, I think Foggy tried to time his breakdowns with Matt being far, far away, even knowing that Matt could feel his heartbeat and would likely know he was freaking out. xD But in general, I think he spent most of the last ten years being a BOSS at repression, haha.

Matt watching Foggy's soul to make sure being around THE DEVIL doesn't like, tarnish it or something. And he's continually amazed that even after years it doesn't tarnish at all. WHO IS THIS MORTAL. HOW.
