Im the anon of that coment.
So they are never gotnna have that "thing" back, Matt will always resent Foggy for leaving him (i can sense Matt telling Foggy, that he used to be mad, he used to be upset Foggy left him and didnt answer his calls and when he saw he got married Matt understood he had to move on) and Foggy knows he did wrong but he also has a point, he couldnt stay knowing that everytime he went out he had to be worried about his life, they almsot killed him, they made a wreck of him abd that0s not life, Matt can fight but Foggy can not and he had a pretty good life and now he is back at Hell's Kitchen and everyone seems to be mad at him liek he has no right to stay there....

In my experience, the type of friendship Matt and Foggy have in the show is not the norm.

That is, people who meet as strangers in university and then go on to intern together after, and then move to the same city and start a business together. Personally speaking, the friendships I had in highschool pretty much ended at the end of highschool. Same with people I knew in university. Same with acquaintances I made at my last job.

There are some people I haven't seen in over 10 years now, but I think if I were to cross paths with them again we'd have good chats catching up with each others' lives. And if we found ourselves living in the same area again we might eventually grow to be close friends again in a new way. (And some people can just pick up where you left off like you'd never left each other, which is rare but nice).

So I mean, maybe it would help to think of Foggy & Matt's relationship in this fic not in terms in what they've lost but what they're going to gain by getting to know each other again. Foggy has some catching up to do, and names to learn, and conversations to have, but I'd say that in a year or to he and Matt will be on good terms again. :-)
