can I ask for a backup story on Claire and her experience with this Mike guy? (does he even exists in the comics or was created adhoc for the serie?)

Claire calling Matt, Mike may be a reference to the comics where Matt pretended to be his twin brother "Mike", who doesn't actually exist.

Yeah, kind of like in _Thor_, with Jane Foster giving him the clothes of her "ex," Donald Blake--who is Thor's alter-ego in comics canon. (And the really interesting part of the character, if you ask me. I only enjoyed Thor for Darcy and Loki. I really, really hope the MCU doesn't go the comics route of getting rid of Bruce Banner in favor of Hulk, like they got rid of Donald Blake in favor of Thor in both the MCU and in canon. Why was it easier to have complex characters in the 60s than now? That's just malarkey.)

TL;DR--My guess is that "Mike" is over in NJ being an utterly obnoxious, condescending associate to "Donald Blake," who keeps messing around with that stick of his ('cause he is totally the MCU version of House). Why not?

NJ is New Jersey. That was a House reference, because House takes place "at the fictional Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH) in New Jersey," according to Wikipedia. New Jersey extends up west across the Hudson River from New York City, which is why I said "over in."

I'm really not familiar with much more than Kirby/Lee comics, myself.

Here's some more Wikipedia to explain my whole Donald Blake wanderings: "Thor's father Odin decides his son needed to be taught humility and consequently places Thor (without memories of godhood) into the body and memories of an existing, partially disabled human medical student, Donald Blake. After becoming a doctor and on vacation in Norway, Blake witnesses the arrival of an alien scouting party. Blake flees from the aliens into a cave. After discovering Thor's hammer Mjolnir (disguised as a walking stick) and striking it against a rock, he transforms into the thunder god."

Unlike Bruce Banner/Hulk, though, Thor fairly easily (and happily) switches between one persona and the other, depending upon which is needed at the time.

In both cases, Marvel decided to off the "normal" persona in favor of the obvious (but one-note) superhero side. Which is partly why I tend to stick to Kirby and Lee.

All of which has nothing to do with Matt apparently running the longest practical joke EVER on Foggy (and others) by pretending to be his own identical twin, "Mike." Which I've actually not read about, since I only know Daredevil through the screen, as well!

(Once again, TL;DR)

I should have just said "Jersey," like a New Yawker, not NJ. I was lazy typing. Look how that turned out!

out of curiosity I googled mike murdock, a pastor&televangelist came out. but this might be another story.

I FEEL YOU SO HARD I watch Thor and just go, "Where's Donald, man?!" And Bruce+Hulk > Just Hulk any day!

Hey, someone online came up with a theory that "Mike" could be Mike Peterson from Agents of SHIELD. He has some pretty big secrets. Plus Matt did go to the same orphanage as Skye.
