Have another part! Forgot to say last time, and in case it's not obvious, that while bold is Foggy and italics Matt, bold AND italics together is the both of them thinking/feeling/existing. Hope you enjoy!

They hit an issue with the tests nearly straight away.

'No thank you. You can do it with my shirt on.' Matt stiffens and crosses his arms. Banner only wants to put on an ECG machine like the one on Foggy's chest - they'd tried to do it earlier when Matt had first come in but anyone other than Foggy getting close to him had only made his symptoms worse so it had been skipped- but Matt has just shut down. Foggy is halfway through his own physical and not at all sympathetic.

Why the shyness? Hot/embarrassed/friendoutoflimits/hot. You've nothing to worry about. Trust me. Foggy winces internally at how much of his feelings about Matt slip through but at least he keeps the fantasies to himself. Beside him the lovely Doctor Cho finishes her work. Hopefully.

Pleasure/uncertainty/me? It's not that Foggy. I know how my chest feels - the sensation of scars, copper taste of blood and grinding sound of bone(???) and flesh flashes through Foggy's mind - and I can't imagine how it looks. Pain/stickiness/concern/pain/ignore

Foggy has to take a deep breath. Right. Yes. You do look a bit concerning to those of us with sight. An image of Matt, half dead on his apartment floor flashes through Foggy's mind. Panic/fear OhGodMattsdyingohGodsavehim why is there blood? . He beats it back down.

Foggy? Not quick enough it seems and Foggy can taste Matt's concern and guilt. Which, huh, that's new. Foggy, I'm-

Later. Man, please later. So much has to wait for later, for when they're not surrounded by Avengers. They have to wait, to do this later. Maybe that way they'll never have to do it.

Yeah, Foggy is shit at deceiving himself.

'Shy?' Romonov smirks.

Matt tilts his head and copies it as Foggy automatically narrates 'She has the best smirk on her face right now.' He blinks and Matt does the same thing - and Foggy sure it was in unison again - as they realise Matt saw her facial expression. I can't sense facial expressions!

No, but I can SEE them. So you can?

'Huh,' Matt says aloud and somehow that's disconcerting.

'Something new?' Romonov surveys them both.

'Matt can see facial expressions. Hell, he can see! It's-'

'-overwhelming.' Matt shrugs. 'And I'm not shy just,' he rubs at his face and hides it from view momentarily, 'I'm a bit clumsy and well, I know how it looks. I try to avoid ah, situations where I have to explain that.'

Foggy sees the perfect opportunity. Don't you dare. Annoyance/bestfriend/revengesweartoGod 'Says the man who wore a shirt on 100 F days in college. I lived with this jerk for years and never so much as saw a peek of chest hair.' Matt groans, causing Romonov to roll her eyes and Stark to smirk. Yup, they think Matt is shy and too embarrassed to admit it.

Jerk. Why do I put up with you bestfriendbutreallywhyFoggyisawfulembarrassed ?

You love me. Certainty/friend Also being shy is a much better excuse than clumsy, pal. Seriously. Badliar/amusement/goodliar/betrayal.

Shit. Foggy pulls in what he can of his emotions but Matt's guilt rises so it's really not working. At least his friend bestfriendloveMatt is able to see the logic in waiting to talk this out.

'How about if Natasha and Tony leave? Will that help? If it's just me and Dr Banner?' Dr Cho asks, her voice gentle. 'We really need those readings, if only for monitoring your later health.'

Foggy? Matt passes over sensations; her heartbeat, her scent - which is weird but Foggy will deal - chemical/rose/disinfectant and the steadiness of her breathing. Matt believes her.

Foggy eyes up the doctor, sending his own visions of her to Matt. Your choice buddy.

Trust. 'Okay. Okay. That... that will be okay.'

Romonov raises an eyebrow but leaves instantly with a smirk. Stark, on the other hand, pouts. 'Okay, kicking out the guy who owns the place? Not cool.'

'You're not a doctor, Mr Stark,' Foggy says coldly. 'You have no right, no legal right, to be here no matter what you own.'

Stark shivers. 'Lawyers. You make my skin crawl.'

'We live to serve.' Matt smirks and Stark moves to the door. He pauses by a bench.

'Sorry, but-' in a quick movement he picks up something that Foggy can't make out and throws it at Matt, '-I have to know'.

Worry/warning/whatifitsheavy/Stark! Matt friendshitsecrethurt look out!

Matt catches it, automatically turning his head in the direction of Stark. Foggy realises he both heard it coming but also saw it through Foggy's eyes. They recognise the item together. A stress ball.

Anger/testsubject/liar. How DARE he! There's the taste of copper and Foggy's coconut/donut/cheese smell mingling with it. Yeah, Foggy's feeling much the same. What if it had been dangerous and Matt hadn't caught it?

Anger/testsubject/leave Foggy agrees. He ignores Matt's fears of him being hit - there's nothing to test in throwing something at him.

'TONY,' Banner roars and there's something green in the tinge of his skin. Stark's eyes widen and he flees. Cho takes two steps back and Foggy shifts closer to Matt.

'Dr Banner?' Cho is scared and shit, now Foggy is. I've got you. Protect. Matt clutches at Foggy's arm, as if Foggy is about to lead him but Foggy can feel the tension in his grip. He's preparing to fight.

Banner takes a dozen deep breaths and the green fades. Matt's grip doesn't loosen for another few moments - until Banner's heart beat calms, which Matt makes a point of sending to Foggy. Nice of him.

'Sorry.' With a soft smile, Banner turns back to them. 'I only meant to scare Tony. He deserves it.' There's venom in his voice but it disappears in his next sentence. 'If you want to leave now, I'll understand. I do not want to hold anyone here against their will.'

Truth. They declare. 'We'll stay,' They say aloud.

'Just for the tests,' Matt adds and releases Foggy. 'We're leaving after that. We need time and space to figure this out and I do not want to do it in Tony Stark's tower.'

'I understand.'

Matt can hear the shocked gasps as he takes his shirt off but neither doctor comments. My idea was better. Annoyance/pride/toldyouso

My idea got rid of Stark arseholejerkliarhate and Romonov dangerhotdanger. Win-win.

Matt rolls his eyes and he hears Dr Cho laugh. 'Care to share your top secret conversations?' she jokes. 'Or are they too top secret?' Matt pauses, unsure of what to say but aware he might owe something to the people that helped Foggy save him.

But then Foggy replies, despite having moved away with Dr Banner and appearing to be out of earshot. 'Totally top secret! Completely and utterly secret. Matt you say one word-' I'm going to totally not manage to kick your ninja arse but I will TRY and that's all that matters.

He can't help it. Matt laughs. 'Sorry, seems like my lips are sealed.' Cho laughs again but it's definitely slightly forced. Matt listens. Ah. Nervous. We're making her nervous.

All the more reason to leave. Now.

Agreement/safety/HellsKitchen/Foggy/home Matt shifts and Cho steps away.

'All done. Your shirt Mr Murdock.' Touched that she thought to narrate her action - You should not be touched Buddy, she's a doctor outrage/humanitysucks/whydoestheworldhurtMatt - , Matt takes the shirt with a smile. And blocks Foggy out because really? He calls Matt an idealist?

You are the most idealistic person alive justicerightthingnotmoneybutrightness, I will fight you on this.

Matt can't help smiling. Foggy moves to stand beside him and Matt can both hear and feel his amusement. It's... it's nice.

Foggy offers an arm. 'Ready to leave?'

'After you.' Matt rises from his bed, clinging to Foggy's arm. Did Banner need something?

Gave me his number, to call if hurtdyingfear something goes wrong and to ask if we could come back in a month for a check up. He'll make sure Stark arseholejerkliarhate isn't here.

Banner is waiting at the door for them. 'I've called a cab for you. Didn't think you'd take one of Tony's cars willingly.'

'Good call,' They say together. Which should be creepy but somehow feels natural.

'I thought so. JARVIS will guide you out.'

Matt frowns. There's no one else here, right? Right. 'Jarvis?'

'It is a pleasure to meet you, sir,' A British voice says and Matt can't help his flinch. Luckily, Foggy flinches too. Noonehereroomemptywhatthehell

Noheartbeatwhereisthismanwhatthehell Matt agrees.

'I am sorry sirs. My name is JARVIS and I am an artificial intelligence; I run Mr Stark's homes for him.' JARVIS sounds apologetic. 'I did not mean to startle you.'

Foggy pats at Matt's grip on his arm and Matt instantly gentles his grip, feeling the pain he's causing Foggy. Guilt/sorry/hurtlovedones

NO notfault, woulddosame/noguilt/reassurance/friend/nothurtingme Matt has to turn away from the onslaught of Foggy's positive emotions.

'It's okay. Which way?' He asks as a distraction. Knowledge/cantescape/willconvinceyou is ignored.

'Left. There is an elevator in approximately ten of your paces. Mr Nelson should be able to locate the main entrance of the tower from there. I will have your cab wait for you outside the doors.'

'Thank you,' Matt and Foggy say together.

I love this genre. It always makes me wonder what it would be like if someone had to deal with me like that. I wonder how alien my thought processes would be to someone without OCD.

It's such an interesting thought- everyone's thought processes are unique so having to consider another person's is going to be so weird for both Foggy and Matt. Especially Matt- he can't get over how much Foggy seems to actually like him and not see the evil/sin/devil in him; instead seeing this good man. Like. What even???

I cant stop telling you how your writting makes this fic works, thway you put the thoughts of each oen is incredible, well done and well put, one knows that one minds is crazy as shit and have millions things passing through your mind at the same time,. Matt and Foggy here are starting to get acostumed to everything.

I LOVE how much the betrayal pops up into Foggy's thoughts every time he thinks of Matt as a friend or liar, good or bad. Like, it's so true, it's not something that'd be easy to get over anytime soon, and the pain of it would absolutely be in the background of all of his love and affection for Matt! Oh, their talk (when they're away from the Avengers) is gonna be good!

OH MY GOD STARK YOU ARE SUCH AN ASSHOLE. Also, yes, this is very MCU Tony. But still ASSHOLE. I LOVE Bruce starting to go green in anger on their behalf. :D Yeah, YOU GO, BRUCE.

Foggy uses "arse" a number of times here in relation to Tony, and AmEnglish never ever uses 'arse' unless trying to sound British. :3 Foggy would say ass/asshole/etc. instead. It makes no difference to me, but just figured I'd bring it up in case you care about that sort of thing!)

Of course it will. Emotions don't just vanish; it'll always be there until Foggy manages to work through his feelings with Matt. Because there's definitely still a lot there to work through and this thing might actually be a good thing for them in that Matt really can't lie anymore. I just hope as a writer, I'm up to writing this conversation!

Stark really is. He's an arsehole with a heart of gold but still an arsehole. Yay, I'm glad you liked it. Bruce just took over then- was all like 'I'm going to do this.' And I'm just like '...ookay, sure. This works.'

A quick outsider POV interlude while I kick the next part into line. It's a really tough conversation to write that's coming up. I hope you like this little snippet of our boys from the outside.

Omar loves picking people up from Avengers' Tower. Who and what he gets is always a surprise. Somehow he's also become the Avengers' official cab driver; he's the only one any of them want and Jarvis always calls his personal line for fares.

(He says 'somehow' but is sure it has something to do with that time he took a soaking wet and utterly miserable looking Captain America straight to the tower when he found him wandering Brooklyn and wouldn't take any payment and asked no questions but just chatted at the man for the whole ride. Say what you like about Stark or Captain America but they honour their debts. And then some, in Stark's case)

So he's pleased to get the call to take the two young men - are they Avengers or just two of Stark's minions? The long haired one might be a lawyer, he's so well dressed, but the one with the sunglasses looks like he just got out of bed with that hoodie on - that climb into his cab at the Tower to Hell's Kitchen. It's also a prepaid fare, paying enough to get these boys most of the way to Philadelphia if they wanted to, so Omar is fairly sure they're someone important. From the moment they get into his cab, he's flicking looks back at them with one ear trained on their conversation.

Only they're not speaking. At all.

Oh, he can see them in his rear view mirror, and every so often Glasses will smile or Long Haired will bite his lip in amusement but they've not said a word since they got into his cab. Long Haired isn't even looking at his friend but somehow they seem to be sharing one hell of a good joke.

Suddenly Glasses laughs out loud. 'No, no, stop.' He waves his hand at the other man who smiles and catches it easily, without taking his eyes off the window he's been looking through the entire trip. Did he see the reflection? But no, another quick look confirms that Long Haired is looking at the bottom edge of the window and probably couldn't see the other man's hand that he just caught.

A shiver runs down Omar's spine. What the hell?

'You're the one who said it buddy.' Long Haired releases the captured hand, which is instantly dropped to Long Haired's thigh. Said what though?

But neither speak again. Omar focuses on the road. For the first time, he wonders if being the Avengers' official cab driver is really that great.

'Where am I to taking you?' he finally asks, having put it off as long as he possibly can.

Both men's head turn to look at him in his rear view mirror... in unison. Omar can feel his heartbeat pick up. Glasses rattles off an address after a long pause.

But it doesn't escape Omar's notice that Long Haired opens his mouth to speak at the same time Glasses does. Only a subtle elbow from Glasses stops him speaking. What the hell does Omar have in his cab?

'O-kay.' It's not far, so Omar picks up the speed. No need to linger with these 'men'.

'Just here.' Long Haired points out an apartment building and Omar pulls over as fast as possible. Glasses makes his way out to meet Long Haired on his side of the cab. Long Haired offers Omar notes - the correct cost for the fare.

He doesn't want their money. 'Already paid,' Omar gets out before he takes off.

Looking back he's not surprised to see them shrug in unison. Their footsteps into the building are also in sync and they're walking arm in arm.

He's definitely going to think twice about taking a fare from the Avengers again.

This is a delightful interlude.

Well to be fair, those two come with a warning . They have a reputation for their shit and well Steve is Captain America and can be forgiven anything. Matt and Foggy looked normal (and aren't Steve). Until they weren't.

(Author here) Ah but the soldier is like, a super soldier. There's science or magic there. And the legend that just overrides the weirdness. These are just two guys being weird in his cab. Like, creepily weird not just usual Avengers weird.

He does need a vacation though. Poor Omar.

Oh here it is. The beginning of the conversation. I think. I hope. Man I hope it's what you wanted. Also usually I have the other side of phone calls in italics for ease of reading but well, that's already taken. So Karen's side of the call is underlined as well.

Foggy's still floating high on Matt's amusement at his narrations of the scenery of their drive - ones that Matt could see contrasted with the reality of what he was seeing - when they bumble their way into Matt's apartment. He's throws himself onto Matt's couch, sure this might be the best place for a discussion. He hisses as Matt turns on the lights, the subtle change still enough to be annoying.

It's then he realises he has his eyes closed.

What the hell? He reviews the last few moments; he can see the clear path. Only... Memorycouch/nonewnoisesscents/pathclear/Foggymovingnearcouch Oh huh. That was weird.

You did it so fast too. Instantaccessnohesitation Another side effect?

Something a touch minor compared to vision Mattcanseeliartruenottrue though.

Matt finally makes his way from the doorway, flicking the lights off as he goes. Might as well save electricity; it's becoming very clear exactly how much they're going to share now.

Foggy still can't find any regret in himself.

He shuffles over so Matt can sit beside him. Beer?

No thanks. Foggy cringes as his movement causes his phone to tap his side and he remembers get Karen's call and promising Karenworrywillcallabrupthangup to call her back as soon as he knew what was happening with Matt. He turns his phone on.

There's a moment just after the phone finally loads that gives Foggy enough time to see the twenty three missed calls and over a hundred messages guiltworryohshit before his phone is ringing.

'FOGGY! I thought- I didn't know- What's happening? You said Matt was hit by some... some thing and you were getting help but it's been hours Foggy! Where are you? What's happened? How's Matt?'

Karen/friend/secrethider. What the hell did you tell her?

A lot more than I meant to panickedworried - Foggy's memory of answering the phone automatically while watching over Matt flashes between them - apparently. 'We're ah. At Matt's?'

'I'm coming over. Right now. I'll be there as soon-'

'NO!' Panic 'Karen, please no. Not now.'

Her voice instantly goes cold. 'Why not?'

Foggy sighs. Tell her enough hatelyinghurtssomuch but not everything. That's an in person conversation.

If you say so hatelyingwhymustIlie buddy. 'It's. Ah. Complicated. But what happened tonight... there were side effects. Matt and I... we need tonight Karen. To adjust. I promise I'll explain everything tomorrow but please, give us tonight.'

'It's nearly 5am Foggy.'

It is? Shit. Amusement/dawn?/obvious. Shutup/bestfriendwhy/annoyance. 'Today then. Give us today. Take the day off and tomorrow, I'll explain. We'll explain.' We'll explain. Oweher/truth/liar/betrayal/Karentruth

Fear/guilt/oweher/fearfearfear/danger/hurt/fear. Matt buries his head in his hands and Foggy reluctantly focuses his attention on the phone call. Soon damn it.

'Okay. Okay. I trust you Foggy. Please though... Is Matt really okay?

'I'm better than I was earlier, thanks to Foggy.' Matt pitches his voice so Karen can hear - her sigh of relief isn't audible to Foggy but Matt passes it along.

'Oh thank God. Okay. Tomorrow.'

She hangs up before Foggy can and Foggy just drops his phone onto the couch beside him. 'Urgh. Why did I call her?'

No idea.

'You're not going to talk aloud then buddy?' Curiousity/fear/suspsion You've accepted this weirdscaryMatt thing fast.

Not the first painoverload/whatshappeningtome/knowtoomuch/hurts time for me.

Pity/guilt/mistake. I forgot.

'We need a beer.' Matt rises and heads for the fridge before Foggy can muster any sort of reply.

'You really think alcohol will help this?' Resignment. No. Might help you relax Foggyfriendlyallovermehappy though.

'Yeah and give me stupid ideas. Li-'

'-ke the puzzle?' Cardboardedges/worldspinning/funjoyhappinessFoggy Okay, Matt really seemed to like these memories of drunk Foggy...

Darkness/laughter/whatthehell. 'Oh man, I'd forgotten that. What where we-'

Foggy doesn't need to complete the thought, let alone the sentence, for Matt to get it. 'We weren't. And we did manage it-'

'-eventually.' The memory of the completed puzzle, done upside down by two blind - one using a blindfold admittedly - law students brought a sense of achievement and annoyance to Foggy.

You never said it was the wrong way up. Why lie?

It didn't seem happyMattgreatsmile to matter.

Matt puts the beer back into the fridge and takes a seat in the chair across from Foggy with a sigh. 'We should. Talk.'

'Yeah.'

It's tempting to stay in the happy memories of law school. With this taste of one, Matt's so tempted to just encourage Foggy to relive some of the best memories of his life and ignore everything. It would be so much easier.

But it's not what Foggy wants. And Matt's done too much to him already to not give him what he wants right now.

Disbelief/confusion/guiltanger/MattMattMatt. Matt frowns at his friend, trying to comprehend the emotions/images/sensations he's getting. 'Foggy?'

'You're guilty for this.'

Myfault. 'If I had-'

'But-' Matt's still trying to pick through the reassurance. How can Foggy be so forgiving? After everything? The memory of him leaving - painlossdeservethis/heartbeatfading flashes through his mind.

Oh man. Foggy bites his lip - Matt feels the motion and can taste/smell the blood when he breaks skin - and throws a memory at him. Without thinking Matt throws his memory of that moment back at Foggy. 'I lied to you.' Why?

'And I'm still angry about that.' Matt. Because you're Matt. Dork/goodman/caring/mine 'But angry doesn't mean we're over.'

'But why would you stay?'

'How could I leave?' For better or worse. Partners/friends/mine

Matt tries to shake off the hug but Foggy tightens his arms. 'You're betrayed.' He throws every single emotion Foggy's felt about that back on him.

Foggy throws back a wave of FriendmineloveBESTFRIEND so thick Matt chokes. 'And we'll move forward. With honesty. And communication. All those cool things we really suck at.'

Author here. Your comments are a highlight of my morning/afternoon/whatever the hell time you call it when you get up. =D

First time consciously realising he's doing it. Next step - consciously doing it. =D

That came to me one morning and I giggled for a half hour. They were totally drunk, decided to do that puzzle Foggy had found and it was totally logical for Foggy to wear a blindfold to do it so it was fair to Matt. They did it by feel and upside down. It was hilarious. =D

Thanks! It's not dawned on either of them that hey, this feeling of love I have for you is basically what you're sending back. And I know mine isn't quite friendship love. Oh right.

Matt has it mostly down pat, though he's not been (and will not be) able to stop the leaking through of strong emotions/feelings/thoughts but Foggy is catching up.

Words are too unreliable for that experience - as evidenced by that experience. It seemed simpler.

Sorry, didn't mean to make you cry (much).

Foggy does rule. He is awesome.

There's a tentative count for how many more parts this has- I planned out the rest of the fic to have another five 'chapters' (not including this one) plus an epilogue to make 11 parts (plus the interlude). Subject to change on my whims. I have many whims. Hope you like this!

Matt finally sags into the hug, a sense of contentment slipping into his mind. Foggy adds to it instinctively, barely aware of doing so, just wanting to get the sheer self hatred he'd felt out of his friend. Who the hell broke his Matt so much that he honestly believes Foggy is better off without him?

Surprise/lying?/notlying/what? Well that's descriptive. Thanks Matt.

Foggy tightens his hug, ignoring how his knees are starting to hurt from his position on the floor. Friend/mine/good/honest Matt-

Matt shakes his head. 'Foggy-' Foggy, '-I can't. I... Foggy.' Foggy. Flashes of Foggy, as Matt perceives him, flash over from Matt. A kind voice; steady hand; friendship; equals; kind; heartbeat; coconut/bagel/cheese; FoggygoodminebestfriendFoggy. Matt pushes Foggy back for a moment, then drops to the floor before him, so Foggy isn't reaching up. I can't. Please Foggy. It's too much.

Okay. Foggy can work with this. Too much now. But he's got a long time - the rest of their lives - to deal with this. He'll wait.

'Foggy-'

Time to change the plan of attack. Give up the battle, win the war.

What?

Foggy grimaces as years of watching war documentaries with his father flashes through his mind. Boredupsetscaredbored. They weren't his thing but he picked up a few details.

'I'm a battle?' Matt sounds - no is- amused by the thought. Foggy reluctantly rises because he really does need to change his tactics.

'Oh man, first day and you're already stuffing up the mind reading. I compared battling your-' Foggy waves a general hand, '-issues, to a war not a battle. Scale.'

Matt rises too, somehow not sore. How even? Control. Training. No fake cheese. 'I'm glad my 'issues' are of such great concern to you.'

He's being sarcastic. He'll learn. My cheese balls are the best - a flash of eating the snack, cheesy goodness dissolving on his tongue- and you know it. 'You are welcome.'

Is that how they taste to you? Matt sends chemicalprocesseddisgust over and Foggy gags.

You better keep your taste buds to yourself please! He moves into the kitchen, desperate for a glass of water to wash away that awfulickyhowthehelldoyoustandit taste from his mouth and memory. A flicker of sunlight catches his attention and Foggy checks his watch. Oh joy it's six. Morning. They've been awake all night - God it's only been twelve hours since this nightmare began - and not so much as a catnap of rest.

Suddenly all Foggy can feel is the tiredness pulling at his limbs. Matt yawns. Foggy yawns. They yawn together.

'Foggy?' Matt mutters drowsily. 'You have the-' another yawn, triggering Foggy's which in turn triggers another unison yawn, '-bed. I'll take the couch.'

But Foggy isn't having that. InjureddyingsickMatt 'Nope. You'll be in that bed or I'm not sleeping.'

Matt smirks and Foggy barely has time to process before a wave of tiredness runs through him, nearly causing him to fall where he stands. But Matt's miscalculated. It flows back at him and Foggy is woken from his half sleep by Matt's butt hitting the floor as he does fall over.

You're more tired awakelongerdyingsickdying than I am. Foggy manages to make his way to Matt and get an arm under his. He pulls his friend to his feet. Amusement/Imright/fondness. Come on Buddy.

Stubborn. Bed. Foggy.

Compromise/tired/movingurgh. Share? Foggy all but throws Matt at his bed and tries to get his jacket off. It's putting up quite the fight.

Share. Matt's thoughts go gentle and soft. Foggy wins the battle with the jacket and throws himself at the bed.

Just in time; Matt's mind pulls at his and sleep claims Foggy too.

Matt's warm. It's kinda nice. He snuggles into the warmth, vaguely aware of something - someone - happy and content beside him. Very content actually; they're half awake with a warm body in their arms who is happy to be there. It's always good to start the morning making someone else happ-

Wait, what. Who the hell is in his bed?

Matt snaps all his senses into focus and opens his eyes unnecessarily as he hears a gasp from the man holding him. Foggy. What?

'Dude that was really freaky.' Matt catches a flash of an image of him - him, he knows what he looks like now - opening his eyes at the same time Foggy does and the events of last night coming speeding back to him.

And Foggy. 'Oh man.' He groans and rolls over, taking away the warmth. The nice warmth.

There's a long pause, then Foggy rolls back over. Warmthniceagreement. He moves his arms back into position, though he makes sure Matt isn't pressed against him. Mattseyes/nice/comfortablewithme/likeseeingthem.

For a long moment they stew in the silence of each other's thoughts. Matt finally has to break it. 'Time?'

Foggy glances at his clock. 'Just after four. We got a lot of sleep Buddy.' He shuffles. 'Seems like you needed it.'

Matt glares in hi...no, at him. He knows where Foggy is now, as instinctively as he knows where every inch of his body is. 'You tricked me.'

There's no apology in Foggy. Pleasure/happiness/healthlyMatt 'Just get used to it.'

It is at that moment, their stomachs growl. In unison. Huh. Still kinda cool. With a groan Matt pulls himself out of bed Reluctance/warm/comfort/Foggy and heads for the bathroom. The second he crosses the threshold, he feels/hears Foggy start to scream out a song in his head. It drowns out Matt's thoughts - and Foggy's ability to sense Matt's actions. Clever. Though Defying Gravity, really?

They swap and Matt heads for his kitchen.

Food/hunger/me?. It takes a moment for Matt to realise what Foggy's offering.

Food/hunger/ME Matt runs through his fridge's contents, sniffing to see what's best to be used and picking through ideas for meals. There's not many he can make with what he has. Breakfast or nothing Foggy.

Agreement. Breakfast is brilliant. Foggy's actions aren't bothering Matt; he's heard far worse from total strangers. Which NoshareNO isn't something he thinks about Yousharedhateyoujerk usually.

Eggs/pancakes. Your choice.

Both? Hope/Mattscooking/tastebest/oweme/oversharer

Flattered and a tiny bit apologetic, Matt grabs the eggs, milk and flour. He leaves the eggs for Foggy and starts mixing pancakes. Foggy drifts in, and Matt catches the sight of his kitchen through blinking eyes.

Then Foggy closes them. Guide me.

Guide yourself. For a moment Foggy pauses, then something pushes at Matt's mind - more of a push than he's felt since this began - and his sense of Foggy greatly increases. So does Foggy's sense of Matt, if his thoughts are any indicator.

Foggy grabs an egg and cracks it against the pan, throwing the shell at the bin without looking, tracking it with Matt's hearing and sense of smell. It lands perfectly. They smile. Matt finishes mixing the pancake mix, pacing the kitchen as he does. Foggy is always a step ahead of him - or with him - and never in the way as he cooks their eggs and they drift around the kitchen as if dancing. By the time they're done, the pancake mix is ready and Matt steals bites of his eggs - cooked to perfection - as he cooks them.

The sound Foggy makes when Matt first takes a bite of his eggs is nearly pornographic. This Godgoodperfectionwhateven is how things taste to you?

Only the good notchemicalhomecookedloved things.

Matt smiles and flips the final pancake, throwing a previously cooked one at Foggy. He tracks its path.

Foggy catches it, despite sitting side on to it. Matt hears/feels the movement of his head as he turns to look at Matt, finally opening his eyes so Matt can see his own smile. Handy

Agreement. Matt takes a bite of one of his pancakes and Foggy makes another low moan. Hateyouloveyoukeepeatingholyshitsogood

This might make up for everything.

Wow. This story continues to be awesome, but this chapter is my favorite. I think it's because it's so joyous. Matt and Foggy are so together and so not alone...and then the cooking scene!

It just made me so happy when I realized Matt will never be alone. Obviously, with the mind link, he'll always be connected to Foggy, but even more so with Foggy sharing Matt's senses and tasting experiences, he's not alone in his abilities.
