oh for sure! bendis doesn't get a free pass and i think brubaker was the guy that wrote that tired diatribe about nat romanov from matt's pov, but i could be wrong. frankly i'm still upset with bendis for having jean grey out bobby drake as bisexual (i say bisexual because jean grey's comment about bobby being gay was demeaning and dismissive) and then deflecting when criticized about it. i really liked waid's run because you have characters like kirsten and foggy telling matt "no, don't do that, that's a bad idea," but of course matt still does it because he's MATT but for once his friends turn out to be right? like, of course matt has been right during waid's run (like the issues where foggy thought matt was keeping his father's bones in his desk drawer when they were put there without his knowledge) but matt's not ALWAYS right, and it's refreshing that matt can be in the wrong without there being a huge fuss about it.

It TOTALLY DOES and I am itching to read the hell out of it fleshed out someday, because clever!Foggy and Matt!whump make my heart SING.

Yeah, I'm REALLY torn because on the hand, of course Foggy would know his own best friend if he was with him for months, but on the other hand, idk, I can't recognize most of my close friends by just their mouths and chins, I think (lots of mis-aimed selfies and other photos are testament to this), unless there's something extreme about them (unusually pointy, or a mole, or a chipped tooth, whatever). Admittedly, going the Matt/Foggy route Foggy has probably stared a LOT at Matt/Matt's smile, but if DD!Matt is disguising his voice and using darker, harsher smiles and smirks than Matt used around Foggy and they aren't doing much together outside of sex in the dark, depending on how long they were together Foggy may not recognize the cues? Like, they obviously couldn't have gone on a date to the zoo as Daredevil. XD The injuries, though, yes - it always amazes me that with how comfortably tactile they are, Matt wouldn't have done some major wincing at accidentally-harder-than-intended contact that'd just tip Foggy right off. I mean, he looks awful sometimes. ;_;

(Not that this is discouragement, because Foggy trolling Matt, and Foggy getting fed up with Matt's shit and shouting at him, are both AMAZING AND I LOVE IT and I'm so all in for it, just that I do think it is possible to not recognize a friend for a while depending on circumstances XD)

anon! this is dishonored, it's one of my fav games ever: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dishonored

basically the premise is this: you are corvo attano, lord protector to the empress jessamine kaldwin. jessamine is assassinated, her daughter emily is kidnapped, and corvo is blamed for the murder and thrown in prison to be executed.

however, a group of loyalists manage to break corvo out of prison, and he goes into hiding. while in hiding he is branded on the hand by a being known as the outsider. people worship the outsider, but the state religious officials view him as a kind of satan and punish those found with his mark, or with whale charms or runes (these can channel his powers). the outsider's brand gives corvo powers such as being able to teleport (known as "blinking"), possess rats or even humans, bend time, etc.

basically, corvo is given tasks by the loyalists to eliminate (whether by assassination or by other means) key members of the aristocracy who worked together to have the empress assassinated, and to find emily, wherever she's been hidden. the less people you kill in this game, the better, as the ending will be more optimistic.

do you need more reasons to play this game? well, it's got incredible worldbuilding (the city of dunwall is located on the main island of gristol, but corvo is from another island in the empire known as serkonos). serkonans are treated as savages or just simply with disgust, so you'll overhear people referring to corvo in dismissive or even frightened tones, as they are very xenophobic. also the devs are very open to criticism and worked to treat women in the game and its downloadable stories better. there's going to be a sequel in which emily is the protagonist! and finally, there's an all-star voice cast including people like carrie fisher (princess leia!), chloe grace-moretz (hit girl!), lena headey (queen cersei!) and susan sarandon (a bunch of stuff!)

i went on kind of a ramble there but the story of it plus the sneaky parkour elements work super well with matt's abilities! there are also numerous factions like the bottle street gang, the dead eels, the hatters, and the brigmore witches for matt to fight as a marked vigilante.

Oh, I have absolutely added this to my stack of prompts that I am going to write someday, omg, really. I am enjoying the idea far too much to just leave it now. :D Though I am delighted to hear you are liking it! And I have such a thing for Foggy being smart, you don't even know. Everyone underestimates the guy, especially standing next to Matt. But there are reasons Matt's best friends with the guy, you know? And it's not just because Foggy is a ray of sunshine or a perfect cinnamon roll. (And Matt!whump is just fun, because I am a terrible person.)

No, no. I know exactly what you mean. I know *I* would have trouble recognizing someone by just a partial look at the lower half of their face. Especially in low-light conditions (DD being a vigilante of the night who favours dark alleys and all) and (life-threateningly) stressful situations. And after they start hooking up, Matt's going to go to extra lengths to try and keep Foggy from seeing enough of him to recognize anything. So yeah. I can see Foggy not making the connection at all for a good, long time. Because you're absolutely right in everything you said in your reply.

BUT. The injuries. Those are a lot harder to overlook. And I think eventually Foggy will notice something about Matt that he last saw/felt with DD. And once might not be enough, but repeated times? DD gets the shit kicked of him A LOT, leaving poor Matt looking like a trainwreck sometimes. Between being worried out of his mind for his BFF, and trying to remember how not to hurt his hot sex friend this week, Foggy's going to figure it out eventually.

(And I honestly do think that Matt's going to slip up with the DD persona around Foggy sometimes. Heat of the moment, enjoying the afterglow, maybe just returning snark that's a bit more fond than sarcastic. Or all of the above. Again, maybe not enough on its own, but added to everything else...)

Good to know you're not discouraging this, though! Because I really do kind of love the idea. I am far too entertained at the notion of Foggy figuring it out, having a crisis over it, getting over his crisis, and going, "All right, then. If that's how he wants to play this, game fucking on." and setting out to screw with Matt. ...And then having to give in and whack him over the head with the clue bat anyway, because Matt's too busy wallowing in ~ANGST~. XD

Forgot to ask, do you want Matt to stay blinded at the end? Or to keep regain his sight once again? Or doesn't it matter? Honestly, I'm torn between the two, because I could really see it working story wise to have him get his sight back, but I could also see him as being a little hesitant to go through the experience again.

Just a warning, I may end up picking one route even if it's not what you prefer if I think it fits the story better. But I did want to check and see if you have any preferences so I can try to make the story as pleasing as possible for you!

I just wanna see Daredevil wind up in a body of water with a lethal threat - like, say, a hoard of hungry piranhas. Black mask preferred but red costume is okay too. Give me Matt, panicking and freaked out because his senses don't work; show me when he realizes that not only is he almost regular blind, but that he's not alone in the water. H/c with a happy ending preferred, but I'm okay if Matt dies at the end."

Yeah, the injuries are what make me shake my head at Matt keeping secrets from Foggy in the first place and go "Why did you EVER think you'd be able to keep this from Foggy? Like serious, from the BEGINNING you should have cottoned on to the fact that he'd see them and know, smart guy." Like, him keeping that secret legit just bewilders me. XD

(Although yeah, some personality slipping would definitely occur, and he'd probably be constantly straddling the line between Coincidence/CommonQuirks and Suspicious. XD)

The title is my roundabout way of requesting Matt/Male Character sex with tons and tons of foreplay. So much foreplay it's ridiculous. Followed by hitting that ass.

i didn't even know people could be this terrible until recently, but someone posted a picture on tumblr of, you guessed it, PRINTED ON BRAILLE. as in completely missing the entire point of what braille is for.

matt is inconvenienced but amused at the failings of sighted sign designers. foggy is furious and proceeds to tear the nearest building official a new one.

bonus points if matt is basically standing off to the side like "hey, i can't control him while he's this angry and he knows his way around a lawsuit."

double bonus points if foggy puts the fear of god into the building manager and the sign gets changed within the week.
