i am 100% here for foggy aggressively shipping matt/nice things, not only because he loves his friend but also as a massive fuck you to that ninja prick who came along and messed with matt's heart.

Exactly, and, I mean, Karen is the one who got the ball rolling on the whole investigation, so for Matt to join in somewhat late in the game and start insisting that she get his okay... Regardless of whether or not she's overestimating herself (which I agree that she is), I think that that would come across as very condescending to someone not in the know.

Also, possibly to someone who is in the know, for that matter. I was annoyed when he did it to Foggy in the last episode too, but for the fic I'm requesting, I'd like the confrontation to be with Karen.

I was the one who responded about beware the comics earlier, and I just want to clarify.

Yes, all comics have had issues with sexism the further back you go. But even now, Matt has a very different history with women than a lot of the other Marvel heroes.

What I mean is: Tony's always had Pepper, and Thor's kinda always had Jane, and Steve's usually had Sharon. Matt's version of that central woman in his life left him because she couldn't handle his crap, fell into prostitution and drugs and then died. And in the meantime, any woman who has had close contact with them he has either ruined or had no interest in committing to, going right up into some of the ways he treats his new love interest Kirsten McDuffie now. In fact, his arc with her is in some respects a clear attempt by him to break his own horrible pattern.

And, don't forget that Matt's also unique among the other heroes in that he's one of the ONLY ones I can think of whose father was the heroic/saintly one and whose mother rejected him. So he has some pretty serious women/mother issues. It's why Foggy fills the role of the Girl Friday in his comics basically, which is unusual.

Just to clarify, again. It's worth thinking about, I think.

And I think the show has been pretty conscious of that comics history in how it portrayed his relationship with not just Karen, but Claire too.

I have thought about both versions of Matt and their interactions with women waaaay too much,basically.

My problem is that the things he says to Karen (and others) don't get responses that point out his behavior, so I feel like the show *isn't* acknowledging it, y'know?

I don't care how you pull it off, I just want some DC characters interacting with the Daredevil characters. Does Daredevil trade parkour and escrima tips with Nightwing? Is Karen Page working with Lois Lane instead of Ben Urich? Is Fisk in cahoots with Lex Luthor? Does Stick work for the League of Assassins?

Matt's response to Claire (in the show) was particularly interesting to me because it's like... for lack of a better phrase, he wanted to keep her. Y'know?

"Yeah, just stay at my apartment and don't leave until I figure things out for you."

Like, Matt... honey. No. XD;;

And Claire basically decides that for herself by first going back to work and then deciding to distance herself from him by leaving town later.

OWEN. See, he knows that Matt's a people, you don't train people, that's ridiculous. He's just establishing patterns, that's all. Matt seems like the kind of guy who works best when he doesn't get surprised.

ANON i know you said that we might have to think about Owen bringing Matt to meet his velociraptor children BUT I JUST REALIZED that Matt probably has little-to-no concept of what a velociraptor looks like?!? owen's like "so did you see pictures of raptors, before the accident?"

Matt's like "uh not really i mean. i don't remember?"

That's pretty much it. One of them washes the other's hair. I don't really have a preference for which one does the washing, but I'd like the focus to be on the intimacy of the act and the sensations that come with it - the feeling of fingers massaging one's scalp or running one's fingers through someone else's hair, the temperature of the water, the smell of the shampoo, the sounds of slow breathing and water dripping etc.
The more detail, the better.

I'd prefer no established relationship, because the UST is just too good to pass up. Whether it actually goes anywhere is up to filler.
Some H/C elements would be nice.

OP - Aw, poor Matt <3 I really like your writing style! We get such a short time with all the OCs but I've liked them both so far; they feel like real people.

(Oh gosh, you should look up "promposals" sometime, author anon. Having a date for prom wasn't as nearly as important when I was in highschool, but it's turned into quite the Thing now.)

Foggy is more than a good friend, sometimes he's a great friend. Like the fact her he learned Braille for his. Sure he can't read like Matt can but he can follow the text well.

I know, right??

Hopefully somebody feels, ah, inspired and writes this fic! ;-)

This sounds so sweet and fluffy and cute, and yet my mind immediately went to "god I want to see this combined with a kingpin!Vanessa prompt and to see Matt's painful, conflicted reaction".
